I'm new to tekken and this video was so absorbable after i learned the layout. and i tell my friends about how i think a guide should be instead of just combos and ignoring how to play neutral in general. That being said A Reina guide would be great.
Whenever I get my hands on a Tekken, or Soul Calibur, game, one of the first characters I try out is Yoshimitsu. And when I get my hands on my copy of Tekken 8, once I get out of work, Yoshimitsu will be the first character I'll try out.
I played in training all alone for 4 hours last night with Yoshimitsu! As a new player, he’s a ton of fun and I can’t wait to get deeper into switchups and longer combos!
Yoshimitsu simple 101 = “Just know the fundamental sword moves then start spamming nonsense.” This is basically the universal guide all guides will tell you.
Yoshimitsu is an S Tier character on design alone. Such a creative character who manages to be a badaaa ninja without being edgy and lame. His humor factor os slept on
If you want a funny thing to do up close do his mediate stance and immediately follow up, it dodges a lot of hits up close. Idk the name but its ⬇️34 pretty sure
@@Zachebiworks well on hit I like to mix the low and teleport behind and then command grab 💀💀 While they try to fix their block they forget the tech works a lot
Yoshimitsu has been so iconic since I was a kid playing Soul Calibur 4. I've always deemed him the most unique fighting character that i've gotten to play. I'm so happy to see people who are new to Tekken wanting to pick him upand learn him. He definitely is hard to master, at least for me. I'm about to be 30 now and he still gets me hyped no matter which fighting game he's in. SC or Tekken, you'll have so much fun with him.
He has always been one of my favourite fighters, not because he's the character I do best with - but solely because of how unique and *different* he is.
actually a very helpful guide. amazing information on the pokes and normals, as well as showing different routes for combos. Tekken 8's my first tekken game and yoshi's my main, this video helps a lot. hopefully there'll be future videos covering more advanced topics, good job
This is the first time I'm really paying attention to Yoshimitsu. He is so awesome in this game. This guide is incredible too. Very clear and I found it quite calming after the stress of trying to master him solo. You've earned a Sub my friend :)
at 6:07 u don t need to press ⬆12 after the [34] animation, just ⬆ is enough. and at 5:25 there s no need to do ↗2, it's enough doing⬆2. by the way this tutorial is toooo awsome e useful thank u very much
W vid. I’ve been a Jin main and recently wanted to pick up new characters with Yoshi being on the list. This helped simplify how I viewed the character so I appreciate it. Keep up the dope content🗣️
this was the first Yoshi video I've come across that was both simple yet detailed enough to start getting some workable combos going to be able to actually start playing. definitely appreciate that as a newer player.
loved yoshi in sc2 when I played as a kid and tried him when I played a bit of tekken 7. He's way too complicated a character a new player should start with but he's just so fun and goofy that I have to learn how to play him properly, this is such a useful guide to start dipping my toes into online and start to think about how to adapt when playing against a specific playstyle
hi. instead of going into the kick after mogi fire fly, you cant get even more damage by: once in mogi (helicopter mode) 2, down input into standing, down 2, 2,
just got home from a tekken 8 launch party thing the local FGC set up at a netcafé, just a bunch of setups and free entry. I don't really play tekken but I have a friend who's super into fighting games. she was labbing her character a lot and figuring stuff out and then I decided to play against her and I just went absolutely ham on that forward 4 and it was glorious
I thought I was gonna be learning the most complicated character in Tekken, then he started going off about Standing 1 and Forward 4. Now that's what I call gameplay!
I've always thought Yoshimitsu was one of the coolest Tekken characters since Tekken 3, but I've always avoided playing him because I knew he was complex and I'm not very good at fighting games. I think I'm finally going to give him a try.
I love how we always main the same characters. Good tastes, good tastes. Btw, you don't have to press both punches at the end of 3~4. Just gotta hold up.
Thank you for this guide! Haven’t played Tekken in years so giving the meat and potatoes of this character is super useful, can’t wait to start practicing with Yoshi.😁
As a brand new tekken player (aside from playing 2 and 3 as a kid in the 90s and early 2000s) Yoshimitsu is who I want to main. I loved him back then and he seems even cooler now. I kinda wish I gravitated towards an easier character but so far he actually does good for me mostly just mashing.
I get the sense that in this game it doesn't really matter how easy or hard your character is because the hard part is dealing with the other characters and you have to do that no matter what. What I mean to say is every character has a 100 moves and several stances so no matter who you choose you have to start simple and you can do that with yoshimitsu just as easily as any other.
this is my first tekken and ive been having so much fun with reina and victor so i’m excited to see more of your tutorials maybe we could get a victor guide next 👀
I’m so glad they made yoshi better I wish they made more sidestep teleport cancels like while rising 1, 1, 3/4 For example b2, kimchi, sidestep teleport cancel just for corner escape and mix opponents mash
Man, this is such a good straightforward, beginner friendly guide. Thank you so much! I used to love your guides / terrific or terrible series on MK11. They really helped me test characters efficiently and find my playstyle. Please do so on T8, you will get huge amount of views. Do you think you can go with the ones known as easy to start with such as Claudio, Feng or maybe Paul ? I would like to main Bryan some day but I know it's one of the hardest so I'll keep the best for last.
I'm a begginer to tekken I played 7 but was not so great and played geese howard (I'm a kof/fatal fury fan) I take tekken 8 because the game is cool I decided to main yoshimitsu and your guide is helpful
Down back X X, into square square square square while rising into circle circle circle catches a lot of people off guard for Yoshi too just be careful not to abuse it as it’s punishable once your opponent predicts it
Ngl, really wanted Yoshi to have an extension from DGF 3 into 1 from SC6 where he goes into SDGF or KIN F1 into DGF And finally, if in Heat Mode, DGF 1 can extend into Gehosen (DP1)-> Asura Blade (Kin 1+2) -> Yomi Kakenue (FF2+(2) on hit) (from Soul Calibur 6), like a Heat Smash from DGF.
I’ve never played fighting games. I bought tekken 8 with my friends. I think this guy looks cool…. I don’t understand what this stuff means at all. My brain just doesn’t thing this fast while fighting someone 😭
Stick to it! After a while it will click and you can feel your brain go into a whole different mode. I’m 35 and started only seriously getting into fighting games two years ago. Patience pays of but don’t forget to have fun!
So far, my Tekken 8 top 5 most played characters are: A suave john wick samurai A crazy cyborg samurai A femboy A coffee addict and an emo/goth dommy mommy in tights. 10/10 best tekken game yet.
Thanks for abrief guide on such a complicated character! is it to much to ask for a written guide? :D Leroy or Alissa or even Kuma nxt? those characters are not so popular, Paul be intresting 2 me aswell, but paul you just can find a ton of vids
Ive found 3, 2, 1+2 to be huge when the sword isn't out. People tend to think its their turn after the 2 and the 1+2 then does huge damage. Not sure if that will still work past red ranks though.
No mention about that Yoshimitsu actually heals yellow health (not only chipdamage) in heat if he does a sword attack from hilted stance? Thats a pretty crucial thing to the new Yoshimitsu techs. Like combo 2,2 (hilts sword) into UB 1+2 (sword slash with health regen in heat mode)
Buy it now definitely. And whatever your budget can afford. As a Tekken fan I'll buy the highest edition I can since they won't release the next Tekken til the next decade
@TrueUnderDawgGaming Seems like b2,2 now unpunishable by all 13 frame moves which is huge buff because it's spamable and can only punished now by ducking and launching.
hi everyone I wanted to know if for you yoshimitsu in tekken 8 now which is the most interesting to play and stronger than in tekken 7 he knows his luck in tournaments
Let's Get This Video 2,000 Likes for Yoshimitsu!
Comment Below Which Character You Want Next!
I recommend Jin. Players will be using him a lot in story mode, and it’ll be very helpful for them.
Reina Supremacy.
I need more of Yoshi!
Bryan Fury, please

Utilizing the wackyness of Japanese cryptids to make a shitpost king Oni is peak character design.
5:59 you dont have to press u1+2 after 3-4 just hold up and it goes into dragonfly!
that's so sick
Good for taunting, not so much up close that way
If you want a funny thing to do up close do his mediate stance and immediately follow up, it dodges a lot of hits up close. Idk the name but its ⬇️34 pretty sure
actually you can do it up close if you spam f2 and then hold down after, its like plus 7 on block@@Zachebi

It is my first tekken and it's great to see a guide on a character I thought looked interesting. Thanks man! I would really like to see king next
who else picked yoshi just because he got a sword and can stand on said sword as a move?
*HELICOPTER HELICOPTER*
I don’t even have Tekken 8 yet and I’m so grateful for this!
I'm this close to wanting to learn every character just to be even better at yoshimitsu

u1+2 is different than uf1+2. uf moves yoshi forward where u1+2 he just jumps vertically.

Yoshimitsu is fun to play this time around.

NOTE: df1,4 cannot catch crouchers with the second hit; the string jails. It will, however, catch people who try to press a button after your df1
Also, FC df4 doesn't actually require full crouch. You can just input d,df4 and it will come out instantly.
