You got Jan Van Riebeeck's arrival date wrong😂😂😂, and not all white South African ancestors traveled voluntarily to SA many were trafficked or came as refugees and Asylum seekers. The Huguenots (Le Roux, Blignaut, Viviers, etc,) were running from religious persecution from Catholic France and had been refugees since the mid-15hundreds.

When you’ve a homeland in Europe and you get on ships and travel to another continent, you’re not originally from there. The Europeans that traveled to these places didn’t go to add but to take, and usually suppressed the indigenous people. Christopher Columbus is said to have “eliminated” millions of indigenous people in their homelands. I suspect that had the whites that went to South Africa actually lived peacefully with the native Africans from when they arrived, supported and shared the wealth, treated them as human beings, black South Africans would never consider them foreigners. White South Africans are nationals but not indigenous South Africans.
West Africans should thank mosquitoes for keeping the Europeans out long term, in spite of the rich mineral resources.

To be honest, i hardly hear conversations in South Africa about white people being none African. The number of proponents of this idea, in my opinion , is African American.

@toontumnetwork I am talking in general. By general, I mean mainstream no politician or influential person is telling white people they are not South African. We may argue about land and that they are not originally from here, but no one, as far as I know, is telling them they should get out of South Africa or that they should not represent South Africa. It's just online people. Mostly Kenyan TH-camrs and African Americans 😂 find me a South African channel that says white people don't belong here. Great account. Without Whites there were no countries in Africa. We had tribal terretories, fighting one another over grazing land.

White South Africans classify as European because that's where they are from and its also a skin color but we have been here for over 15 generations. We don't have family in Europe. If we do, we lost contact generations ago. We can't even say where in Europe our forefathers came from. We mostly guessing because of our surnames. I still classify as White but I'm South African. All whites are originally from Europe. Just like all black people are originally from Africa and all Asian people are from Asian. Even White Americans are from Europe and white Australia are from Europe. It just refers to where you Antcestors are from. It doesn't mean that you moved from there recently.
You do know where you came from; with DNA around you can trace it easily. Most Dutch who are Boers today came from the Netherlands and Flanders before there was a country called Belgium. That's you r ancestral place not South Africa@@rianasmith4021

Before then was just a region 🤷🏽♂️ so South Africa has been "a country" for only 93 years and of which only just 30 years it's been "a country" in dispute. So when you refer to "a South African" you're basically referring to someone legally recognized by the state from 1931 onwards 🤭 it's so interesting that even Nelson Mandela was not born a "South African" 🤷🏽♂️ now, another thing most Africans shy away from is acknowledging that South Africa's struggle for liberation was multi-ractial, and it's not just black people who felt aggrieved after the formation of the union, it's not just balck people who were killed; hanged; exiled, etc. We South Africans don't see white people, as how the rest of Africa sees white people. Just before the "South African War" kicked off, the Zulu and the Afrikaaner had a complicated but decent relationship and allegiance 🤷🏽♂️ they fought wars and died alongside each other. Fast forward to 2024 inequality is driven by extemely high unemployment, very low wages and extremely high salaries for incomes at the top end of the income distribution. Discovery of diamonds and gold in specific sections of South Africa, which fueled the First and Second Industrial revolutions in pretty much those areas, which basically crushed the non-white race in South Africa everywhere else. Just like in Vereeniging about 90 years earlier, when the Broers tossed the black nations they'd had allegiances with, before and during the big war - again in 1991 black leaders tossed the the non-white race South Africa and let them walk out of CODESA I & II with nothing.

It's easy and popular to say they are foreigners, when most of them aren't. The Chinese of Malaysia are regarded as Malaysians even though their ancestors migrated from China a long time ago.
