Cyberpunk 2077 launch was more than bugs. The game was missing a ton of features and bringing 40% of them back after 3 years is not an excuse and should come as a free package inculding that story expansion they want us to pay for.
Yep. They literally fixed the game only because of the threat of lawsuits then cashed out on a DLC to squeeze some more money out of people. I mean, at least the DLC was actually good, unlike the main story, but still.
So glad Armored Core is back. Just need Sly Cooper and some classic rhythm games now. Was excited for Prince of Persia until they announced the mobile quality money grab to fund the failed remake the fans actually want
A topic I would love to see is "10 games that completely change the longer you stop playing" (narrated by Falcon of course). 2 examples I can think of is Metal Gear Solid 3's old sniper boss (you've addressed many times) and Animal Crossing's town being completely unkempt when you get back on after a long period of not playing. I'm sure this may give you a fun new challenge to find 8 more games and probably will incentivize the viewers to pick an old game back up. Food for thought 😊
We’ll see. AC has drastically changed since Black Flag. It may be a “smaller world” but I highly doubt it’ll play like the first game or even Ezio triology. Ubisoft has made so much $$ off of micro transactions from Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla, I cannot foresee them throwing up that lucrative system. And with that system comes the game mechanics that encourages players to invest in the micro transactions, so don’t be shocked if this game is more so a smaller version of Valhalla than something more akin to the original games.
@@Lawrence_Talbot The amount ubi makes from dlc and the actual games obviously dwarfs the microtransactions hence their relative ease to ignore. Even in their live service game, the division 2, microtransactions and battle pass pale in significance compared to games like destiny 2 and actiblizzard games.
The first Prince of Persia game was a Metroidvania. Weird how many people don't remember that. It isn't a departure from its roots, but a return to them.
I'm unreasonably excited for The Lost Crown since I've been on a huge puzzle platformer/Metroidvania kick lately. I've put nearly 30 hours into The Messenger and am constantly searching for new games that scratch that itch. Really hoping Lost Crown ends up being one of them!
If i'm not mistaken Assassin's Creed Valhalla is by far the best selling AC game in terms of revenue. Above 1 billion USD. I don't mind Ubisoft going back to the roots, but the players (at least their wallets) have spoken.

Very proud of cdpr for not throwing cyberpunk into the gutter like other companies would do, i loved that game when it came out and i saw its potential, but i knew it needed more work, and cdpr proved what theyre worth, i truly feel like they make games they care about which is hard to find game companies like this today.
They fixed it because they had to. Not only to salvage their reputation and keep fans on the hook, but also because they were literally getting slapped with lawsuits and would've gotten crushed by even more lawsuits for selling a defective product and lying about it. They didn't do it out of passion or kindness. That's why most of the things they implemented like the metro system and the police system are extremely lazy.
I'm hoping the cyberpunk update also updates the life path missions and decisions. I didn't hate it in the beginning but did recognize it's flaws. However, it deleted my safe file twice (on ps4 at the time) so I gave up and decided to wait for it to update, but I've always said cdpr would fix things just like they've done in the past
I've given up on Cyber. I played it to the end but only remember being pissed off at the game most of the time. The ending was totally forgettable. Whoever wanted Assassin’s Creed to be grounded clearly never played AC. The series has never been grounded. I personally like them explaining mythological stuff, I wish they’d do that more. Take us to Japan dammit.
next to Remnant 2, Armored Core 6 is my most hyped game this year. though not going to lie, watching the trailers makes me wish we had a spin off of AC like Anthem. those gritty mechs in that universe where you could legit fly them would be so epic. give me missions as a Raven merc in that post apocalyptic world, upgrade my mech and fly around, dynamic events even during missions, but also free roam. sounds like heaven.
The best way for AC to really take things to the next level is to do what the new Hitman games did: give us options. Allow us to approach the same target in multiple different ways, stealthily or directly. Ubi should not renounce what they did with the newer games, because outside of the very reduced focus on stealth those were still very much AC games in every sense of the word.
Wait, WHAT?! Just like Assassin's Creed Odyssey isn't an AC game and ruined the franchise for the OG AC fans, Resident evil 7 isn't an RE game and ruined the franchise for many of the OG RE fans.
POP: The Lost Crown feels a lot more like the original platformer that started it all to me than Sands of Time and I kind of think that is the whole point.
@@coolbrotherf127 God Hand famously got horrible reviews and most people consider it a top action game now. Look, it's janky and has semi tank controls and a fixed camera. But it allows you to fast forward like a DVD any part that is not fun. You have a jacket inventory with slots. Do you want more batteries, ammo. Healing? All the same slots. You can use bandages to heal yourself but also mix it with a bottle for a molotov. There are plastic bottles that act like delayed bombs, and glass that explode on impact. You can also just mix the liquid with ammo to make it stronger. There are a lot of cool things you can do. It's worth the 3$ it costs at gamestop. Also the main character is max Paynes voice actor and the cutscenes are a good time.
Well I agree, I’ve played the original and still love the 08 version. Introducing many new features to a TPS genre. Rather than limited to a single item to create something. Any flammable spray can become a weapon. Even as u said the healing spray. Rationing them and planning when to heal or burn something is interesting. Also my fav is the car, can check many places to find items or leak petrol and use it as a bomb. Crash into the monsters and so on. Handling wooden 🪵 objects in the environment with 🔥 was a great way to conserve ammo. Car scene takes some time to get use to. But when it’s done, it’s fun to rewatch it again. I always wondered what was the point of calling these AC games assassin creed because the originals explained how you became an assassin but these more recent AC games could be basically standalone games.
Yup, just cashing on Brand Recognition. That’s why the “connected” bits to the original story are so few and poorly implemented. They’re just doing that so they can call it the thing that made them all the money back in the day. Disney does it to but at least Ubisoft is content to only wreck their OWN franchises instead of going after everyone else’s like hungry shark.
Yeah these newer games have nothing to do with assassins. More so just hack and slash looters with the franchise name slapped on to draw in the audience.

One thing I find funny is how linear the first assassins creeds were and thats what everyone was complaining about so they went with the open world approach. The open world assassin's creed games are even better well received overall when you look at basically any review. But now we want to go back to linear. I think that tells more about how us as humans are never satisfied and want what we dont currently have more so than anything else, not so much what we actually like the most. As they say, variety is the spice of life!
Can't speak for everyone but I always prefered the earlier games. I regularly play them. Origins was okay but I don't like the combat that Ubisoft couldn't shut up about.
I would LOVE the new Assassins Creed games if they weren't so padded with ridiculous XP blocks. The amount of time I realized I was wasting doing the same thing over and over just trying level up my character is why I stopped playing and never finished the game. Looking at you Odyssey. Great game, intolerable grinding.
Odyssey first one I played. Fun game and looks great, but never finished it. Got sick of the usual open world stuff. Might play the older ones sometime
@@danieln6700 the problem is there's no reason Odyssey shouldn't be an amazing game that everyone finishes. Just when the world fully opens up you get hit with a massive XP wall. They artificially inflated the Grind to try and get people to buy the XP boost. So you have to pay to finish the rest of the game. That's intolerable and that's why so many people like myself despise Ubisoft
I tried replaying yesterday and 2 missions in I had every character in a cutscene have ridiculous obnoxious clipping. Ruined the experience from go for the 4th time lmao. I’m on a Series X btw
As legitimately excited as I am for Cyberpunk, I honestly just want the expansion to play well. Don't let the new coding, or whatever, create new bugs and glitches. I hope CDPR took the time to polish it the way it deserves.
I've been dying to see an Alan Wake sequel since it came out, soooooooo excited. And I had no idea about the Control DLC so I've gotta check that one out!
The fact that From tried something new when they already have a perfect formula says a lot about them as game developers, seeing developers in this day and age especially big names like Fromsoftware actually genuinely trying to actively improve and work on games that they want to make is incredible, I genuinely have to admit the comparison between Japanese and Western developers are getting clearer by the day and that say what you want about the Japanese guys but they really care about their games and not just getting heaps of money on top of more heaps of money by scamming gamers
About Prince of Persia - It was a sidescroller even before Metroidvania was a thing... As for Alan Wake 2 - Is the FBI Agent really with the FBI... or is she with the Bureau of Control. Enough happens in Control to let them know an AWE was happening for them to send someone to investigate.
Im def one of those that is dying to wait for a new Silent Hill game I love that RE went more Horror as well with the latest games but we need an truelly unsettling horror game and Silent Hill has been the only one in the genre that could could psychologicaly fk you up right
what spoiled most franchises for me was the amount of low quality titles we got on a anual basis. spending a lot of money on similar games becomes stale pretty quickly. the reason why i still love the gta titles is because each title feels so distinctive and atmospheric, despite being at its core pretty much the same. compare this with something like nfs. often times you cant even tell which game you are playing because the generational differences are next to none. on the other hand, if you have tons of similar games each year, the only way to keep the people buying is do make changes to its core to the point where the 15th installment has hardly anything to do with the original.
After replaying the classic type of Assassin's Creed games over the past year, I can't wait for Mirage. IV and Syndicate need FOS boosts to bring them in line with the rest of the games. Also Cyberpunk is one I've been looking forward to for almost 15 years now - since the original teaser. Played 2 hours at launch and left it alone until it was in a state that didn't make me sad. Kept up with each patch video showing performace and whatnot and in a month I can finally jump in. I'm hoping the Fallout 4 next gen patch comes out this year too.
I'd love if Alan Wake and Control properly cross over in a fully fledge game experience... somehow xD. I've just started Control, so I'm not to the AWE dlc yet. But, I'd love for Alan and Jesse to meet if they haven't already.
This might be me being hopeful, but I feel like Mass Effect should be an honorable mention here. With the flop of Andromeda (and how they messed up everything that people loved about Mass Effect with it in many people's opinions), they seemed to really backtrack with the remaster of the original triology, and now with the upcoming Mass Effect entry that is actually tied to Sheperd's crew somehow... it feels like a "we hear you, here's Mass Effect in the Milky Way again." Or maybe that's just the vibe I felt.
Number 3: 13 : 31 Im exited to play the new Alan Wake, i always was a fan of remedy and Control blow my mind completly. At first i didnt like much that we have to play as Anderson, but thinking about it, it go in a direction that we could see Jesse at the end of the game! Imagine Anderson knowing of all the crazy shit of OOPs and AWEs and ending working at the FBC with Jesse Hell we even know that the FBC is watching Alan like they did Jesse!
The old style AC games were great when they first came out, but honestly I don't need another one...That formula got a bit stale to me...I do enjoy the new style AC games, but I wish they would scale them back just a little bit...Origins was great, Odyssey was great but a bit bloated, and Valhalla was just overkill, especially on the side quest nonsense...
I don't understand the cyberpunk thing about armor. I haven't played in a while, but iirc cyberpunk has a transmog system. I seem to remember having a few outfits for looks and being able to wear any armor I wanted while keeping that look. So I don't get what phantom Liberty is adding in that regard
Armored Core should try the smaller mechs for in-city battles with deep environmental destruction. It would open space for many kinds of missions such as protecting a city or attacking another. Which again, if you know AC, would fit like a glove in the plot

I know Alone in the Dark 2008 gets a lot of flak from everyone and is a topic of ridicule among my video game loving peers (all you guys, my brothers from a different mother), but that game left a long lasting effect on me. in 2008 I was in my second year in college, and after class everyday, it used to be my choice of poison. I do not know why but that game calls out to me, beckons me.... sometimes in my dreams

The game was missing a ton of features and bringing 40% of them back after 3 years is not an excuse and should come as a free package inculding that story expansion they want us to pay for.

So glad Armored Core is back. Just need Sly Cooper and some classic rhythm games now. Was excited for Prince of Persia until they announced the mobile quality money grab to fund the failed remake the fans actually want
Yeah wtf.

Finally! classic AC game. Can't wait!
👆🏻
Same, I can't stand the new formula or gameplay
It's not tho it's more Valhalla slop
The original Prince of Persia is more of a stage-based side-scroller platformer. Not really a metroidvania.
@@matthewedwards3094 Yeah, but close enough. Prince of Persia did it first. Metroid and Castelvania are actually evolutions of the concept.

If i'm not mistaken Assassin's Creed Valhalla is by far the best selling AC game in terms of revenue. Above 1 billion USD. I don't mind Ubisoft going back to the roots, but the players (at least their wallets) have spoken.

@@swampssa yeah, but they gave alot of time and effort to fix it, thats the point of the statement, plus i said it was my belief and not a fact.
They fixed it because they had to. Not only to salvage their reputation and keep fans on the hook, but also because they were literally getting slapped with lawsuits and would've gotten crushed by even more lawsuits for selling a defective product and lying about it. They didn't do it out of passion or kindness. That's why most of the things they implemented like the metro system and the police system are extremely lazy.

next to Remnant 2, Armored Core 6 is my most hyped game this year. though not going to lie, watching the trailers makes me wish we had a spin off of AC like Anthem. those gritty mechs in that universe where you could legit fly them would be so epic. give me missions as a Raven merc in that post apocalyptic world, upgrade my mech and fly around, dynamic events even during missions, but also free roam. sounds like heaven.
Cyberpunk is now the greatest action rpg of all time
The best way for AC to really take things to the next level is to do what the new Hitman games did: give us options. Allow us to approach the same target in multiple different ways, stealthily or directly. Ubi should not renounce what they did with the newer games, because outside of the very reduced focus on stealth those were still very much AC games in every sense of the word.
Except the people who buy AC games now don't want Hitman. If they did, they'd buy Hitman. So there's not really a market for it.

Introducing many new features to a TPS genre.
Rather than limited to a single item to create something. Any flammable spray can become a weapon. Even as u said the healing spray.

Can't speak for everyone but I always prefered the earlier games. I regularly play them. Origins was okay but I don't like the combat that Ubisoft couldn't shut up about.
This franchise has had it rough, despite basically being what every survival horror game owes it self to. I'm hoping for the best.
That's intolerable and that's why so many people like myself despise Ubisoft

This guys voice just gives me so much nostalgia and I can't describe why
I've played a few side scroller ones so I thought nothing of it.
Sure they were a "sidescroller" but played nothing like the conventional sidescrollers you think about. They were technically a cinematic platformer.

what spoiled most franchises for me was the amount of low quality titles we got on a anual basis.
spending a lot of money on similar games becomes stale pretty quickly.
the reason why i still love the gta titles is because each title feels so distinctive and atmospheric, despite being at its core pretty much the same.
compare this with something like nfs. often times you cant even tell which game you are playing because the generational differences are next to none.
on the other hand, if you have tons of similar games each year, the only way to keep the people buying is do make changes to its core to the point where the 15th installment has hardly anything to do with the original.
Breakpoint would’ve made a good addition to this list. Doesn’t get enough credit for how good it got
Here’s to hoping that Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon would need us as well
I'd love if Alan Wake and Control properly cross over in a fully fledge game experience...
Imagine Anderson knowing of all the crazy shit of OOPs and AWEs and ending working at the FBC with Jesse
Hell we even know that the FBC is watching Alan like they did Jesse!
I can't wait for 10 years from now when you do a video about the finally returning Days Gone 2.
