@4:04 are the games zipped? the ones that come with the system. also does it matter if i spent a weekend unzipping roms, i don't have a device yet but I'm preparing an sd card for when i do get one.
hey i had a question for you when you download the crossmix and put it onto your new sd card. Do the emulators already come with the crossmix when you download the crossmix os? or do you have to download all of the emulators? If they do come installed already then is all you need to do is just transfer your roms over from your old sd card to the new one?
I have an issue with PSP games. Games are launched only if I put png images with the same name...but game is appeared twice in the list and image is not displaying anyway
They are releasing a version for the Brick, so keep checking their github page to download it Just as an fyi, an online store I've done lots of collaboration with have an SD card of Crossmix that works with the Brick I'm pretty sure. My discount code for their site is BATPIXEL and their website is MechDIY
@batpixel Darn, that stinks. I did see a video recently with it working on the Brick and thought I could just use the one on the GitHub. 😔 Hopefully there'll be a version for it available by the time mine arrives.
you have to copy the the individual system roms from your computer to your sd card. also you have to copy the bios files from your old sd to the new sd card.
Hey man, it's an enhanced version of the TrimUI's stock software, so it's just for the TrimUI handhelds for now. I would love to have this for lots of different handhelds though.. maybe with its growing popularity they'll make it happen 🤞
Hi, thanks for the great video on CrossMix. Do you happen to know if you have a CrossMix 256GB SD card that came with a Trimui Smart Pro...can you just pop that into a Trimui Brick and would it work without any modifications? Either way I just subscribed. Thanks, Scott
Hey Scott! Welcome to the channel. Theoretically it could work, but I'm just thinking about the different hardware such as screen ratios I know MECHdiy is selling CrossMix OS cards specifically for the Brick, but it's based off of Crossmix V1.3.0 but on the official Crossmix Github page the developers have said V1.4.0 will be the first compatible version for the Brick.. so if you get it working you may have to tinker with it I'm thinking
@@batpixel I saw this too! My question is that if I purchased the MechDIY Surwish CrossMix card for the Brick with V1.3.0, when the official V1.4.0 compatible version is out, will I be able to update to V1.4.0 via OTA or will I have to manually update and reinstall like in your video? Sorry newbie here, looking to get the Brick as my first retro handheld! Super good video guide btw, thank you!
@mngo6983 that will depend on the developers. If you did get a card, I'd suggest backing up the files somewhere so you don't lose them. The installation process is simple enough, but how the next update will launch remains to be seen. It's pretty much just about keeping your games, bios files, and save files safe when you start tinkering with it
@@batpixel I now have two bricks one came with a 256 GB card with cross mix and one with standard I totally copied everything out of the 256 GB card to my PC then I got a new 256 GB card from Amazon and copied it right back to the new card plugged it into my other brick and everything's working great just like the first one so at least you can copy it. I'm not even sure where to look on the system to see what version crossmix is
Hey, so I just installed the crossmix OS and it awesome! But under the emulators tab, it just shows Ports. How do I get the emulators showing on that tab like it did with the stock OS? Sorry, really new at this
From my understanding, the files you drag onto the card just modify the OS that has been installed. It's not like other handhelds where you do a full image install
I can't tell you on TH-cam 😂 but it's very easy to find. The legal way to have game files is to backup your hard copies to digital files that you own legally
@@batpixelThat is, I need to take all the BIOS folders in the old SD card and move them to the new SD card in the BIOS? It’s just that in the old one you go to the systems and on the new one you go to the BIOS
Someone please help! I installed the now OS on a new scan disk, and no clue how to read old sd card and transfer games. Tried watching different videos and still no clue, as i put my old sd card in my computer and it wont read it. Please help, i want to update as my old one is crashing all the time.
Your old SD card just needs to be assigned a drive letter. For example, you can assign it as D: or F: You can assign a drive letter in Disk Manager I would recommend adding your own games though. The one that comes on that card are not the best
@batpixel i have the sd card in a card reader plugged into my computer and it doesn't even pick it up. But if I put my new SD card into reader and plug in, it automatically shows D: drive. Other one won't even attempt to pick a drive. I am really lost, also I agree with just installing new games onto new SD card, but not sure where and how to install onto new card. Obviously over my head on this, and want to be able to use my Trimui. If someone is willing to build a card, willing to pay for it so I just need to install it into my trimui and use. Something to make this less confusing.
@terryglanville4628 yeah it seems like you have to do like I said. Assign it a letter first MechDIY's website sells a built SD card you can use instead. You can use my discount code BATPIXEL on their website. Search for 'Surwish CrossMix OS card'
@batpixel okay I have some roms that are on my card but there isn't a logo for the system.... when I search for the game i can play it but there's no system being displayed in the menu....

Welcome to the channel 🎮🦇 I hope you enjoy CrossMix
I'm completely new to the hobby and thanks to you, I've just done my first OS change to a device! THANKS!!!!!!
That's awesome 👌 I'm glad it helped 😄🦇
Thank you so much for this!
Glad you enjoyed 🦇
should I copy all files of the "system" folder to the BIOS folder of crossmix (files and folders)?
@4:04 are the games zipped? the ones that come with the system.
also does it matter if i spent a weekend unzipping roms, i don't have a device yet but I'm preparing an sd card for when i do get one.
Zipped should work, just unzip if not. Some newer consoles need bios files too. The SD card that's coming with yours should have most of them anyway
do i cut all the files in .retroarch>system and paste them to bios?
For some reason I cant start ps games with the playstation core although I copied all bios files and so on
Hello again! Do you need to move ALL BIOS files from the old SD card to the new one? All?
Yes
I need help. None of my games load anymore . Just a fake load then back to roms. I need help
You may be missing your bios files I mentioned in the video
I did what you said: the Crossmix system starts, but the games are not recognized. I also copied the rooms and bio.
That's weird. Check the names of your folders. They have a guide on this on their github
Maybe I copied the BIOS incorrectly? What exactly is it, and what needs to be included?

It already has emulators installed. Yes you are correct. Make sure to read through their github page if you have any errors such as folder names
@@batpixel Thank you ill definitely be getting one

It may be an issue with your folder name? They have info on their github about that. You may want to check out their Discord
Does this also work with the TrimUI Brick?
They are releasing a version for the Brick, so keep checking their github page to download it

Im was able to install crossmix os. I cant figure how to or where to add bios and Roms. All the folders are empty.
Yes the installation on a new SD card is the software only. It does not include the files from your old SD card
you have to copy the the individual system roms from your computer to your sd card. also you have to copy the bios files from your old sd to the new sd card.
Hey pal!
Is crossmix is available only on Trimui? Seems like a cool os that would benefit on other handhelds
Hey man, it's an enhanced version of the TrimUI's stock software, so it's just for the TrimUI handhelds for now. I would love to have this for lots of different handhelds though.. maybe with its growing popularity they'll make it happen 🤞

@sharoncole714 yep they upgraded the stock software to add a bunch of features

@terryglanville4628 yes 👌
What are bios files
They are files to help the games run. They won't work without them. Mainly for the newer consoles
