Intel Arc doesn't make money and they can't even compete in the mid range or high end. They need almost twice as much silicon as AMD or Nvidia for the same performance And even with the budget B580 you run into CPU issues due to bad drivers. With a B780 even the 7800X3D would have issues.

Intel's naming scheme at least makes sense, it's just different. I don't like it but I guess they had to change it eventually, otherwise we'd end up with names like 20900k and 21700HX in a few years (which could get confusing), AMD's is absolutely just misleading by design.

Now all Intel needs is a Battlemage GPU that pulls 350 watts through regular 8-pin plugs, and has 48GB of ram. And they need to make a LOT of them. I'd pay a fair amount for that.
My B580 OC runs like a charm on 1440p. Yes i had to manually install all the drivers but after that i got framerates and upscaling of older games up to 180 fps. My benchmarks show a comparable performence to the 4070 in all high end last year titles.

As someone who is more partial to team red, I'm rooting for Intel. Competition is vital, and is a good thing for consumers, and I think AMD is starting to get a little too comfortable with their position right now. Don't want a NVIDIA situation with CPU's as well.
Ollama lets anyone run all sorts of LLMs locally (provided that they have hardware for that, many Nvidia and AMD GPUs are supported though). NDI/DistroAV lets you stream separate video/audio streams over your LAN to your other PC, with a decently efficient codec, for a separate stream PC setup. Good on Intel for trying to make their own versions available to a wider audience. Their AI Playground software is also pretty okay for local chat/image generation, if a bit barebones.
Nice to see a video about all the improvements Intel is doing without sounding sarcastic and without shitting on AMD. Many creators can learn from that.

I'm waiting for INTEL stock to drop below $15 a share before I start buying some. I'm betting their foundries will succeed. And I'm also betting "chip design" will become easier and easier as A.I. improves so the real profits will come from companies that own foundries to build what others are designing. AMD has made a ton of affordable GPUs, however, Nvidia is still more popular which means Intel won't be able to do much.
PLEASE ask intel about the W88O platform! Some of us need system level REAL ECC RAM, not the misleading "on die ECC". ONLY W880 supports ECC UDIMMS, all the other chipsets do NOT.
