Silly Headcanon: The monsters felt bad at how terrible Frisk was at combat and how afraid they are of monsters, so to make them less afraid they pretended to be "killed" and by them and afraid to make them seem stronger than they actually are. Undyne, unfortunately, seemingly didn't get the memo, and legit thought Frisk was a threat, but her armor wasn't really that well put together and actually got hurt enough to become Undying. Frisk, with a crap ton of confidence, SOMEHOW managed to dodge her attacks because they are less scared, not realizing the whole thing was supposed to be fake.
To correct everyone. (And to make Genocide's easier on level 1.) You don't need to modify your level in the game files. You need to modify your "Murder Level." Basically, if you kill everyone in the ruins. Your "Murder Level" will go up by one. And it will go up again if you kill Toriel, etc etc.
@@theonlynathan3 murder level isn't actually a single stat, to enter the route by changing numbers in the files you need to make all of the bosses be set to dead and all areas to have high enough kill count, you also need to find special values for undying and neo etc., so it's much easier to just do g-route and change your LV

Sans would be way easier than undyne at level 1, the main reason undyne is hard is you do a third-ish the damage as normal, with sans its just the same as normal but less hp
Monsters are actually tough, but the nature of their body is made so that if a human hits them with pure intent to kill, the damage that the monster will recieve will be great, no matter if the human is physically weak or which weapon the human uses, that's why even a human child who doesn't have the strength to carry a big brench of wood (beginning of snowdin) can kill an extremely trained monster warrior.
As if humiliating Undyne in a pacifist run wasn’t humiliating enough, this is a bit over the top! Good to know that if you kill ONLY Jerries, killing Undyne will definitely help you catch up on XP.
Why would you ever want to do this? Good job though, I'd never be able to do that. (I got stuck on her for months on love 10...) Its also interesting to note that you only gain 3 love at love 10 but get love 10 if you fight her at love 1.
i did this but got a bunch of punch cards to up my attack, ended up doing about the same amount of damage you'd do with the original LV amount, but still only had 20 HP
@@jamesdean9theBlainerific9fan i was using an encounter randomizer mod, and so i got Undying at the start of snowdin, so i guess it didn't change my murder value so i could go to the nice cream guy and get punch cards only problem was that the encounter randomizer wasn't completely random, it would change every random encounter with undying until i beat her, so i had to glitch past all rooms with encounters enabled by moving slightly and going into the menu at the same time in order to get to the nice cream guy lol
*Taking two pieces of candy *beating up the dummy *killing asgore and flowey *saying papyrus is uncool and calling him a loser *not giving undyne the cup of water
I did smth similar to this, except I used the appropiate equipment for this part of the game lol. Was still very hard, must say. If nothing else, it made me really consider what the best equipment for this fight are-- even under normal circumstances. Ultimately it came down to 2 sets imo: Book + Tutu: Defensive, best if you consider yourself bad at dodging overall and want to minimize damage you take. Shoes + Glasses: Offensive, if you have overall confidence in your dodging abilities it allows you to clear the fight much faster. Also allows you to regain your composer if you do get hit, thanks to the glasses providing more IV frames than the book. This set is also best for this type of run as the Tutu doesn't do enough to change the amount of hits you can take compared to the glasses.

In genocide, you kill her with ballet shoes.
Now you kill her with a wooden twig.

Thats cuz undyne gets half your hp in one hit, while sans just deals 1 damage
