Wonderful sights, beautiful touchdown. On behalf of the crew at Alaska Airlines, a proud member of the One World alliance, we'd like to thank you for flying with us! Welcome to Juneau.
I live in Juneau. It's not as expensive as people think. We have no state income tax or sales tax although we have a 5% borough tax. Housing is expensive, but car insurance is cheap. And, all state residents get a PFD (free money) once a year including babies. It's money from oil taxes and investments. Last year it was $3200. Virtually no crime, pristine air, LOTS to do if you're an outdoorsy type. Oh, and legal weed stores. People get along here. It's bliss. No one lives in Juneau by accident. Most of us are not from here, and we live here by choice.
Spectacular approach and amazing episode! So much snow at low altitudes in June! I was caught off-guard at 6:00 when that trees suddenly appeared under the wing) Great!
How thoughtful of you to include an approach from the right side of the aircraft to go with your vid from the left side a while back. Absolutely gorgeous! Thanks!
I did that landing many years ago and I knew it was thrilling. One the day I landed there, it was cloudy and foggy so we really didn't see anything until the last pass over the mountains before diving for the runway with it raining. Scary landing on the wet runway. Hope it's pretty like this if I ever return.
I've bene lucky a couple of times flying into JNU with good weather. And then I've had some really cruddy weather on other occasions haha. The views sure are better when it's like this.
At 5:58, the terrain pops up right under the aircraft, and it kind of spooked me a bit. With so much terrain at close proximity, I wonder how much of that approach is hand flown. Also, with as hot as its been in so many places lately, a trip to Alaska doesn't seem so bad right now.
Having flown into JNU before, I knew it was coming, but it’s still impressive how close you get to the mountains when flying in and out of JNU. Very skilled pilots at Alaska Airlines. And I feel you on the heat. We’re in the middle of a 20+ stretch if 100+ temps where I live. No rain for two months. It’s bad. We get hot summers, but not usually like this without rain.
@@sla31 Same here in Central Arkansas. I’d like to know if they use that same approach when the WX is very crappy; Such as night time, very windy and very low visibility conditions. That would be scary. I remember in 1971 the Alaska Airlines 727 crash approaching by, I think, the same mountains. Thank you for doing what you. Excellent work!
I've flown into JNU 30+ times. Only did this approach once and it was thrilling. Seems like they call it "foxtrot" approach, but I may be wrong. Great end to a long day of flying. Video is great, but bank angle in real life is crazy- bank angle on final is WAYYYY steeper than video shows. Douglas Island is just off the right side of the plane at the turn. Crazy. Even with turn, went from 2000 feet to ground in
If I'd been on the other side oft he plane, it would've given a much better sense of the bank angle. But you never know exactly how the wind is going to be performing when you book these tickets months in advance. Anyway, I appreciate you taking the time to watch my friend!
Was there in July 23… for 12 days… beautiful area Juneau !
Wonderful video, refreshing memories of my many vacations and flights from Chicago via Seattle.
Stunning ❤

Beautiful! If I'm not mistaken, that was runway 26 that you landed on. Coming through the mountain valley is just incredible.
That’s gorgeous. If it’s not that expensive to live in a place like that I’ll do it.

So life-like! Do they take the mountains down for cleaning now and then and how do they work aroung ATCs permission to place those things there?
They only do that between the full rebuilds. Every 10 years they get torn down and rebuilt 😂. Thanks for watching my friend!

Milk Run?
Yes, this was a milk run segment, inbound from Sitka. Thanks for watching!
Make aegean landing
Is this real or microsoft flight simulator 4k
It's real, he wouldn't title that game unless he put "Microsoft Flight Simulator" if he was playing the game.
Ok thank you
@@RoadsOfAsiaBen - I’m sure he was joking ….. at least I hope he was!!
As Ben already mentioned, everything on my channel is real. No simulators here’s. Thanks for watching!
@showmoke you’d be surprised how many people think everything on my channel is Microsoft Flight Simulator.
