I'm from Rio and people here at my university just love your videos, professors included. You do a great service in making music production accessible for people from all places. Thank you!
hilarious... Kenny paid good money for licenced samples.. he would never give away free ones. google "judd madden drum samples" you can do a lot with this sample pack..completely free
Fantastically helpful as always. Is this method able to create a more natural acoustic drum kit, with round robin and different velocities? How would that work?
Hey man, always a tradeoff with reaper.... convoluted as all hell but flexible, and doable once you know how to set it up. mad props to Kenny for guiding us thru.... been using reaper a decade and still couldnt tackle most of this stuff with you brother... bless
This is excellent, but I personally prefer using the RS5K Manager script. It makes the whole process much faster while giving you a nice, easy drum rack UI to interact with the samples and map out them to diff keys etc. Hopefully something like that will be added to vanilla Reaper soon in the future because that would make life a lot easier for people.
@@chrisdaviesguitar I think that you can render every groove as a midi project and save any sound that you found (or even create) in a specific folder. Or if you want save an audio file of that then just render the track as a wav file.
Is Nice tô have só much options and resources in Reaper. But in this case is much more simple use Sitala drum machine. Its free and no need tô scripts...
You can either choose to create one track for each drum instrument (with only one RS5K instance per track) or you can use one single drum machine track (as in the video), make it a multi channel track (track routing button or action), route each instance of RS5K to a distinct mono or stereo channel (via the upper right pin connector button, between Param and UI), then route these to auxiliary audio only output tracks. Once done, you can save the whole tracks as a track template for later use. 😉
Terrible user interface. Very limited functionality. There is no way to configure non-linear velocity ranges for multi-samples. I have some samples with velocities split like this: 0-50-90-120-127. They could not be used in RS5K. Most DAWs support this. If I had to use Reaper I would rather create an SFZ instrument (sforzando, etc.) for my samples.
Well, the video is for drums specifically, not for a multi layered velocity split piano or complex acoustic drum kit... And no, the sampler is not limited at all. Just take the enveloppes which are far better than some dedicated drum/groove machines : I own Maschine and use it regularly, but the envelopes are so basic without any curved shapes. Granted the interface is not very sexy by todays standards... Depends what you're after : a fancy GUI or a simple efficient one that just does the job.

Ooooooooohhhhh that MIDI choke might be a game changer for me, nice!
Love your videos kenny 👍🏿
ESTE canal debería estar en español, esta muy bueno, muy buena información!!!!
Very cool! Thank you Kenny!!
Nice, clear and comprehensive video !
keep on keeping on 👌
Thanks
Absolutely useful.
Oooooooh this is going to be an FX Chain very soon ! Thanks Kenny, always amazingly useful and crystal clear content. Cheers from France !
Great tutorial! Thanks Kenny! Can you please share your sound library for drum parts or any free recommendations for creating drum sounds?

It would be great if you can do a video on that in the future as well.
Another stellar post. Question, is there a way to create and save your own drum grooves?
I use Sitala to create drum grooves in Reaper. I just render them as WAV files and good to go.

This is exactly what I've been wanting to do!
Where do you get your samples?
Just found them around over the years.
Did I miss how to get the samples to automatically rename themselves in the FX chain? I had to rename each individually.
❤❤❤
Hi Kenny, can resampleamatic use different samples based on velocity?
I think I've just answered my own question!😊

Kenny, how do you get access to these songs?
Epidemic Sound
So how do you send those individual sounds to the mixer to level them
Create an individual track for each sampler / drum sound
@@justin.johnson how do you do that bruh
help with that

What if you want to mix each instrument seperate

You could do each instance of samplematic as its own track arm them all at the same time to record them.
