I decided to send a spy to Geoff Wilson's Cards HQ to see if the prices are still as cheap as opening day. I am shocked to say that the deals are still flowing at Cards HQ! I thought the ohtani's were a bargain, and I know geoff recently launched his website so you can actually buy online sports cards now. Curious what everybody thinks?

Buying at retail???? Why Geoff would not give you courtesy wholesale quantity discount just seems crazy. Great content but not a way to make money.
You'll find decent prices on lower end PSA 9's & ungraded (because if they would have been sent in if gem quality), but for PSA 10's or higher end... I've noticed much of it is actually 10%-20% over comps. There's nothing wrong with that, but informed buyers won't pay those prices. In my opinion, the "no negotiating sticker prices" is a mistake. We all negotiate & work deals at trade shows, so why not there? Even if the staff isn't knowledgeable enough to adjust prices on the fly, there should at least be a set percentage range of wiggle room that can be worked into larger purchases. I looks to me that they're okay with the higher end cards staying in the shop, and are more interested in moving the lesser expensive cards... and having people rip wax at the breaker tables, then sell all their hits to the shop at 60% value.

Shohei Ohtani is a generational talent and I'm always looking, so if you buy right, you should be able to make some profit, however there are 11,644 PSA 9. About half of them grade PSA 9. You are definitely an entertaining character. Keep up the good videos!

Hello...I never get tired of your channel...in the mid 1970's my city league basketball team, and my bowling team names were "Mojoworkin"...just curious when and how you came up with your Mojo name?

So back in 2009-2013 when i was in high school we used to do sports card breaks and youtube people would scream i hit mojo. meaning you were on fire or the best. plus jesuit high school sacramento had a thing called "mojo" at the ball games.
You are right, Soto is killing it this year. The Ohtani's that you got are sweeeeeet ! The Gallery Ohtani is my fav rc of his. Ohhh man, I totally remember Moon. I am thinking that Ohtani is going to lose value. He cant pitch and even though he was found not to be involved in betting on games, too many people found him guilty anyways. I hope his card does gain value. I AGREE !! The hobby boxes need to be more affordable. Right now Big League is a good price for me. I do not go for mid to high end because I could not afford to go higher. I just look for cheaper cards. I have found some freaking awesome EBay Mystery boxes. I love to open them up lol I cant wait to see the 1 million dollar scan. I just moved into a house this month. I live with my cat and thats it and I love it. I had to give up buying any baseball cards for a while but I think I can survive. Sorry for the book, great video today, thanks for sharing !! You are living the dream !! I wont lie when I say I am jealous.

Haven’t bought from Geoff yet but I’ve gotten some good deals from Burbank and the free shipping even though I’m clear across the US is👌. I’ll check out Cards HQ online at some point. In general I feel like there’s deals to be had online because the reach and quantity of sellers is so great.

I'll start the bar high, with a: "crazy true story from the past"...maybe you and your followers can add to this from time to time...in 1987 I stopped by my LCS and there was a 25 cent box right by the cash register...it had about 800 single cards in it...they were mostly Star Company Basketball from 1983 to 1986...I picked out 5 Jordan 101's and asked if he would take a dollar for them...he said "sure"...I had no clue at the time, (and nobody else did either) that they would hit 6-8 Grand raw one day...I sold them for 4 or 5 bucks each over the next couple months, and thought I was "cutting a fat hog"...

People don't trade enough in my opinion. By choosing to sell rather than trade, we are basically giving money away to the middle men
i don't do comps based on bids.. i usually go by the last buy now, I've made more money that way.. if i go by bids i would lose out a lot!!

Hey I wish you the best of Luck out there. I grew up in Los Angeles and trust me Rob at Burbank Sportscard is one of the worst places. There are so many other shops in Studio City in the Valley just other areas. I would love to share stories about a lot of the guys out there. Franks Card show which is south of Los Angeles is pretty amazing a lot of dealers selling Sportscard’s and memorabilia. You def won’t even break even if you paid $1300 js. A lot of things overpriced there
Repacks are a nice way of bringing in gambling. Great for sellers as they pay up to 95% but remember those that buy from repackers are just gambling.
I dont think shops are really worth it unless you have a mass following on what not or are a repacker. Can get way better deals at a show or EBAY.

If folks come up to you to sell cards that's where you can make a bit more money than buying from a big store or a seller at shows. There is no difference from cards hq to a large seller at shows selling cards at high cost. Large sellers at shows are always quick to make a buck. You are the one difference in the card market to offer fair prices.
i get what you mean. at the end of the day each business needs to make the margins.

One of my issues with these buys are mainly PSA 9’s. PSA 9 in my eyes is not really worth collecting over raw. PSA8 you might as well crack it, PSA9 you really didn’t even get your value back in grading. I just don’t think those ohtani 9’s are a better buy than raw’s
