So why did you pay sales tax??? You are a dealer and surely have a sales tax license at home. Plus I am sure he would sell to you at a dealer discount.
"sales tax license" from state A, does not exempt you from sales tax in state B, need to file for a temp certificate in state B. Buying items for PERSONAL use with your resale certificate is a violation of tax laws.
@@mojo_sports Well I realize you are young and not too experienced. Just wanted to help save you money. If you do have a "sales tax permit" from state A you simply sign a document which all retailers should have (georgia I believe Form S-5) which just takes your permit number from your state and exempts you from paying sales tax. I realize at shows no one pays but this enables wholesale transactions. Don't believe me I have only been buying throughout the country in coins/stamps and baseball cards since 1973. Ever see Jeff Wilson say oh yeah I need to pay you sales tax on this wholesale purchase when at a show?

@@mojo_sports Daily expenses are $3-5k for that location, as a three store owner, 3500-8000 sq ft, collectibles/cards, I have a strong basis to comment. He has ZERO chance of turning a profit on the brick and mortar, he has about half his retail floor dedicated to non revenue generating social activities, that is insane. The amount of showcases for the sales space is minimal, and thus the amount of product displayed is not enough to offer the potential to generate enough sales to cover expenses. Add in the wide spacing between each card to take up space in the showcase, same can be seen for everything else on the walls. Lots of space between relatively small amount of merchandise. They either lack inventory or had a terrible merchandiser layout the store for them. My smallest store 3,500 sq ft , low 7 figures in sales, has about 3x or more inventory this 14k store does, and probably a merchandise value exceeding what he does (minus any 20k cards that will rarely ever sell) and my daily expense for this store is about $1,200 No way he can generate the revenue necessary with his current inventory to pay the bills, and likely not enough even as cash flow to just pay the bills. His is going to rely HEAVILY online for his profits, another segment of the market that is being squeezed for profitability as well. He probably gets some big corporate help to give him a chance, but in the end, the numbers will just not work out, and this location will close. How long depends on how much they got to keep on losing every month to keep it alive, hopefully BTC goes up so crypto bro owner can keep on financing it.
@@mojo_sports PS> when the owner/manager know very little to nothing about the product they are selling, that could be a little issue at some point. When a store has the owner/manager entering slabs into inventory as his job, and brags about it, a job for the $15-20 hr employee, there are SERIOUS structural issues with the business management, and likely many many more as well. If one of my store managers spent his time entering inventory into the system, they would no longer be a store manager for me.
When a partner/manager knows very little about the product they are selling, that is not a good sign. When a business has the owner/manager inventorying slabs, a $15-20 hr job for an employee to do, there is something very wrong with the process/management of the store, and suggests a whole range of other issues exist. Two big red flags when it comes to potential success.

@@paulmouradjian6045 you have to checkout with an employee. For the sake of content we had the showcases unlocked and it was a little more relaxed.
You would choose the slabs and the person helping u would be at the front with your slabs
@@paulmouradjian6045 I didn't watch the whole video. Was not aware of the quick purchase feature, to save 15 seconds and 20 feet of walking to the register.
So observant Guy 3 watching YT videos will go to the store, and shop like Guy #2 get zapped buy not pay immediately,
and Guy 3 will select a dozen $10-15 slabs and a nice $3-5k card for his pile,
then go over to the social area and sit down
to check out his cards, stream about them maybe, kill some time.
Then he will pocket the 3-5k card
while he did his social stuff,
and pay for the remaining cheap slabs at the register
and walk out with his receipt in hand,
and the $16 hr guy at the door will smile and say thank you, come again.
Lies, according to google reviews everything is overpriced.
i mean in the video did ya like the prices? thought it wasnt bad
@Camaraa - Quit crying wimp.
Lot of those reviews never entered the shop. Geoff has a lot of haters.
Ppl lie on reviews, go find out for yourself, and don't believe everything you read.
@Camaraa- Stop crying
Geoff Wilson off-script is so cringe.
I love your videos
dudeeeee i love you. thank u for that
Is weed legal in Georgia? Combine the store as cards and weed,
Dude you expect us to believe that shit. Full of it. Those prices sucks. He has to charge an arm and a leg because it's going to take him 10 yrs to turn a profit after that investment that may be crowded at the Grand opening give it a year. Card hobby got some traction from covid but the hype is soon to crash and people really won't be buying cards and lose interest like this hobby will do and has done and over again In the past. In my opinion this was a riskier investment than crypto 😂
You mad. Dudes following his dreams. And he is a successful go getter. You can't stop someone who wants it so bad they are willing to put in the work.
@@jcbuckeye lots of dreams end up as nightmares, and this is one likely headed that way. His overhead is a large nut to crack each month, and its not going to get done by selling $15 slabs.
@theboringchannel2027
You can if the volume is high enough. But idk how long any niche storefront like that can maintain that level of traffic.
@@darrellspencer1809 " You can if the volume is high enough. "
After expenses, they are losing money on $15 slabs displayed in showcases,
so doing it in volume, does not help.
@@theboringchannel2027 It will if he is paying 10 bucks for them. He will make his money on card breaks. Buy a box don't sell for 20 per cent profit break it to people and make 30-40 percent profit. Card HQ and casino.
U can tell these guys never played sports
Did you guys Spoon??
That's ok because Geoff stole it first with people's tax money funding his loans.
So why did you pay sales tax??? You are a dealer and surely have a sales tax license at home. Plus I am sure he would sell to you at a dealer discount.
"sales tax license" from state A,
does not exempt you from sales tax in state B,
need to file for a temp certificate in state B.
Buying items for PERSONAL use with your
resale certificate is a violation of tax laws.
I’m not a resident or business in Georgia. I have to pay sales tax outside of Cali
Nailed it bro.
We can’t really trust the influencers you guys are always gonna get hooked up the best to get us non influencers to come in and thinking it’ll be like that for everyone. Everyone is gonna be a Angel when there’s a camera in there face these days. I like you tho jay I do feel like you are one of the rare genuine influencers but I hear of a lot of shops being completely different people when there’s no camera in there face
These prices were available for anybody
Do you really think he's going to Go through every card the next day and change the sleeve The u p c And the price in the system for every card? This is the dumbest theory I Have seen twice on this thread
Not applicable here, but I think your point about different behaviors when in front of a camera definitely applies to dealers at card shows.
Influencers will always get better treatment in general in these card shops.
@@jcbuckeyeyea that theory you just made up is very dumb. I never said that you did. I’m saying just they are gonna be on there best behavior when influencers are around and when there’s a camera. Did dumbing it down for you help?
This is a basically an infomercial. Geoff is a cancer on the hobby.
Going out of business sale in two years or so
will be epic
why do u think that
@@mojo_sports Daily expenses are $3-5k for that location,
as a three store owner, 3500-8000 sq ft, collectibles/cards,
I have a strong basis to comment.
He has ZERO chance of turning a profit on the brick and mortar,
he has about half his retail floor dedicated to non revenue generating
social activities, that is insane.
The amount of showcases for the sales space is minimal,
and thus the amount of product displayed is not enough to
offer the potential to generate enough sales to cover expenses.
Add in the wide spacing between each card to take up space in the showcase,
same can be seen for everything else on the walls. Lots of space between relatively small amount of merchandise.
They either lack inventory or had a terrible merchandiser layout the store for them.
My smallest store 3,500 sq ft , low 7 figures in sales,
has about 3x or more inventory this 14k store does,
and probably a merchandise value exceeding what he does
(minus any 20k cards that will rarely ever sell)
and my daily expense for this store is about $1,200
No way he can generate the revenue necessary with his current
inventory to pay the bills, and likely not enough even as cash flow
to just pay the bills.
His is going to rely HEAVILY online for his profits,
another segment of the market that is being squeezed
for profitability as well.
He probably gets some big corporate help to give him a chance,
but in the end, the numbers will just not work out,
and this location will close.
How long depends on how much they got to keep on losing
every month to keep it alive,
hopefully BTC goes up so crypto bro owner can keep on
financing it.
@@mojo_sports PS> when the owner/manager know very little to nothing about the product they are selling, that could be a little issue at some point.
When a store has the owner/manager entering slabs into inventory as his job, and brags about it, a job for the $15-20 hr employee,
there are SERIOUS structural issues with the business management,
and likely many many more as well.
If one of my store managers spent his time entering inventory
into the system, they would no longer be a store manager for me.
Stealing is wrong, my dude.
When a partner/manager knows very little about the product they are selling,
that is not a good sign.
When a business has the owner/manager inventorying slabs,
a $15-20 hr job for an employee to do,
there is something very wrong with the process/management of the store,
and suggests a whole range of other issues exist.
Two big red flags when it comes to potential success.
