I wish all families took care of their elderly like this. I worked in nursing homes for 18 years and I became the only family lots of them had, so sad to be abandoned at such a fragile and precious stage in life. The stories .... wisdom... love. God bless all elderly and cure all dementia in Jesus name, amen.
That is so true. They get old and some people put them in nursing homes. Some grandparents done so much for their grandchildren.... we should never put them away when they get old.
And the ones in the nursing homes are majority white ppl. And yes I am white but I know how crappy white ppl are. Cuz I am one. Not a crappy one but I am white unfortunately.

I met a woman just like her in treatment! But she had a breathing throat issue. We all called her granny. She was always fiesty, but if someone said "get" to her, oooh she was not going to have it! I pray she made it out.
At 13:42 she looked at you as if she remembered for just a moment.. and then she said “you know, you’re my child almost”…. in true granny fashion. Then she gave a slight smile. You were so strong, understanding and patient with her; even with her not remembering you and being feisty most of the time.. 13:42-13:51 is a moment to cherish. 💜
Tasha you dont understand what you have done for your grandparents by letting them be.home and caring for them there. Im a CNA and you do t even know how much these people decline when they are but.in a nursing home. Your doing exactly what God has asked us to do with our elderly. Care for them and love them. However most our older generation in Louisiana say what they want and don't care. But I don't think she honestly meant half of what she was saying, she loves her grandkids. I know this was a year ago and grandma is no longer with us but that's how they are when they have dementia. They calm sometimes and another time they are outrageous but you still have to be gentle with them. I cried like a baby when I lost grandma last year, she was 99 and I took care of her for almost 9 years.
My mom has dementia and I’m her caregiver. Although I miss him, I'm glad that he was able to join my grandmother in heaven whom he missed dearly. His dementia hadn't gotten this bad yet, and I'm glad. I wouldn't be able to handle him, not recognizing me. That was my bestie..😢 May your memories give you peace. P.S. One commonality is how they love and don't forget the significance of money. My grandfather started forgetting a lot, but not his money! Lol. It tickles me to see her keeping an eye over her coins/$

My dad passed 2 years ago and he had dementia he was very young when he died 72, I’d give anything to have him back. Your doing a great job, God Bless
