My grandma had dementia. I was sitting next to her one day, sadly she was very close to the end at that point. She was completely bedridden, and sadly unable to speak or do anything for herself anymore. Yet the entire time I sat next to her bed she tried to cover me up with her blanket. I like to tell myself that somewhere in the recesses of her mind, she somehow knew that I was her granddaughter.❤︎ I spent a lot of time with my grandparents growing up and Grandma always took such great care of me. She took great care of all of us kids. She also looked a lot like Betty White. She had the same build, hairstyle, big beautiful eyes, and a gorgeous smile. I miss my Grandma and Grandpa so much!

My grandmother passed away in 2020, the last of my grandparents. My maternal grandfather passed from cancer 6 days before I was born. But my maternal grandmother and I were so close that I called her "mom." It is wild, but my maternal grandmother had a facilift back in 1992 and (silicone) breast implants about a year after. The next year, she was diagnosed with Lupus, which silicone implants can cause. She went downhill so fast, and in the end, she went from the KINDEST grandmother I could ever be blessed with, to the opposite. The last memory I have of her before she passed away in 1995 was a letter she wrote me telling me telling that she had to cut me out of her life (for no reason, I was just a child and it was the illness speaking.) My fraternal grandparents were amazing as well. My grandfather played adult league softball from as long as I can remember, and I played softball from 5 yrs old through high school. My grandparents bought a house in the same neighborhood as my parents, so my whole childhood was filled with memories of sleepovers at their house, and long talks with my grandfather, telling me how smart I was and that I needed to go to college and never depend on a man. He always came to my softball games, and I even remember him getting so mad about a "bad call" the ref supposedly made, that he was ejected from the game😂. He passed in 2019. My last surviving grandparent was my fraternal grandmother. She was SOOO BEAUTIFUL! Everyone told her she looked like an Oil Of Olay model because her skin was FLAWLESS (naturally, with no face-lifts or boob jobs like my other grandmother😂.) She was such a gentle, quiet woman, and she loved her grandchildren. She passed in 2020, so we never had a proper funeral for her. So, I am blessed that I spent time with her after my grandfather passed away in 2019. I'll never forget the last words she said to me. She told me, "Oh my, Jill. You look like a movie star." I didn't, but it is a sweet memory. So many of my family members are gone, and we were a small family to begin with. So these lives are so touching. This woman is an angel, taking care of both grandparents, being a grandmother, and having a mother who suffered a stroke. She said there is a special place in heaven for her grandfather, and I know that her special place is up there with him.

I’m like does granny have dementia or does Tasha’s audience have it? Gee willickers…How many times she had to say that ain’t real money??? Like wth? Great documenting Tasha. As a registered nurse practitioner I appreciate your dedication to the care of your grandma and grandpa. It truly takes a special person to do this consistently and effectively. I especially appreciate seeing the way you keep her verbally engaged. Folks may not realize just how therapeutic that is for persons with dementia. God bless you and your family.

Wow. I have been watching granny and gangstagranny Holla on TH-cam.
I am glad to see the aging seniors on you tube and face book staying active thru social media. It's also great to see peopkr like Tasha help shapes the real aspect of dementia. It's also positive to have family members that can facilitate in the social media by engaging with the outside to help the aging with loneliness and TLC. The silence aspect of aging can be a death sentence. I am glad that Tasha engages her granny. I am so happy that you have a caregiver at home and not a nursing home.
I always felt guilty that when my mother had a severe stroke at 65, that I was not able to keep her at home. I didn't like that nursing care living arrangement that lasted for almost 8 years.
