I'm so confused Especially since why should I care about anyone dying if Moira or the Resurrection squad can just reset death I'd be more interested in them having to deal with Lady Death since she doesn't exactly like when people don't die
1. This does take place in the Main Marvel Universe and is happening right now. 2. Since the X Men were run out of Krakoa, they can't resurrect mutants the way they used to. The might not be able to do it at all since the 5 are either dead, separated or captured. 3. That would be dope.

At no time ever did Kitty retain any skills or training she had while being possessed by the mutant ninja master. This is why Logan trained her in the ways of the Ninja. Oguns influence was completely gone and Kitty retained nothing outside of what Logan taught her.
Right cause to me it never really made sense cause mutants are the most powerful groups of ppl if they wanted to they could take over and kill everyone over night I felt like that’s was sins of sinister shower cause they basically took over the world overnight defeated all their enemies killed majority of superheroes n then u get these stories where they just hopelessly outmatched but guys with guns and nearly indestructible robot
Every comment in this post I couldn’t agree more with! I am so tired of Mutants being wiped out left and right. More so as said I don’t understand how you have this group of Mutants who are so insanely powerful, have saved the world if not the universe so many times over and yet get instantly one shot by these guys time and time again…you know the very same people who can’t seem to handle everyday common threats, but can lay waste to what might as well be a room full of Gods. Heck the very start of this whole thing years ago started with everyone in their original bodies getting killed.
You know out of all the things that they always bring back to status quo. while other things change and it seem to stay longer and longer. Just once I wish they would change up the status quo with the X-Men and actually give them a real shot. I find it ridiculous that as time goes on more and more of these people that want to kill the mutants are even less human than they are. Cyborgs full on Androids and yet they're going after the mutants for what reason because of their powers. Seems a little hypocritical you're going to to go after people who are born with powers versus those who have money to buy a power suit or get injected back in the 40s. Like what actually constitute acceptance for the superhero community?

Considering that the x-men are stand ins for marginalised groups, originally non white people and the civil rights movement and later other groups like the lgbt (the bad guys literally want to cure how they were born, it's never really been subtle). Bobby shouldn't need a plot device to come back from the dead. His physical form has been destroyed before, and he has reformed from the vapor in the air. He has hitchhiked in the body of someone whose powers turn them into fire, he has physically resisted the juggernaut and turned his own body into liquid or vapor on multiple occasions...
True but I think Nimrod did something to disable or reduce his mutant abilities, he seemed to be struggling to hold a physical form before he died. I don't think he'll stay dead though, give it like 3 issues he's probably on his way

I wonder if Kitty will start using her ultimate universe abilities and start increasing her density as Dr. Doom claims her power is to become super strong/dense. She could potentially make a person so dense they could be crushed by their own weight.

Honestly not a fan of this arc. The story seems weak, and the overall idea of a mutant genocide has just been done to death (pun intended). You have so many other superpowered beings on the earth including potential unstable destroyers like Sentry, Hulk, etc...but you ignore all the radiation guys, you ignore the super serum guys, you ignore the space alien guys...and ONLY target the different people who have a genetic mutation?
I was a X-Men fan for decades mostly through the Chris Claremont /John Byrne era. However, I quit collecting them because the characters became unrecognizable to me. This was due to the mass production of what seemed like a billion X-Men titles , and due to all of the convoluted storylines that were written. Reading about this new storyline, and all the other recent storylines saddened me. I am saddened by the current storyline because it seems so unnecessarily violent, and Dark. The X-Men of this era and their stories are so dark, and they seem to lacks the main thread of hope, and family that the X-Men had during my youth and early adulthood. To me when I was reading the X-Men the stories were a about a small group of outcasts, and misfits who somehow became a family and they were dedicated to protecting a world that fear and hatred them. The X-Men were real to me, because each of them had breath and a pulse, they experienced tragedies and joy. However, whatever threat or darkness they faced they did so as a family. The X-Men stories now just seem to be nothing more than a money grab that lack depth or meaning.

Kitty Pryde has always been badass. She's always known just how lethal she could be and still held back due to her own personal ethics. I've always admired that about her.
I sort of remember from ‘Deadpool kills the Marvel universe’ that even he couldn’t outright kill Kitty. The best he could do was imprison her in a trap that kept her disoriented enough to be unable to phase out of it and hoped she’d die of starvation.
Cyclops was never a villain. I don't know how this is still being said lol. The closest he ever got was maybe antihero during marvel now, but that's it.

Kitty has always been one of the most deadly of the x-men if she chose. Combine that with the ninja training and she's well nigh unstoppable. There was that one fight I think back in the Clairmont days where she and Colossus nuked a sentinel by phasing a lamp post inside of it and let go.
Fighting a Kitty Pride that's willing to kill would be like something out of a horror movie. If i remember correctly, at one point in the comics, Kitty was picked to be to be the public face and leader of the x-men team and one of the reasons was because her power Wouldn't scare people!

It matters that Marvel comes out to say Bobby is Gay because recently before Hickman’s run, there was a point in Marvel’s run of the X-Men where OG Young Bobby was plucked from the past and put into the present. The entire Dark Mirror story was part of that conundrum. During that run, it was stated that Bobby was straight even though Bobby is Gay and Marvel said “Same Bobby.” This is Marvel retconning a mistake they made in the 2000s/2010s regarding Iceman who was canonically Gay and one of the first Gay Superheroes in Marvel. Edit: it’s very imporant because you have to remember that the X-Men is an allegory for the civil rights movement which consisted of a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-gender, multi-class, and multi-orientation movement fighting for basic human rights in a country that did not want Non-Cisgender heterosexual rich white men to be given rights of any kind.
The making Xavier, Colossus, Beast everyone bad just to cause suffering like they do Spiderman is getting old. Things can be complex but everything extremely dark is weak writing.
I'm an Indigenous Australian. The whole "Humanity hates you and wants you dead" isn't a fictional comic book idea for us. It was government policy. "Social Darwinism" where black people were considered too unevolved to survive and the kindest thing to do is to take their kids and breed them into white society. My family history is so full of rape and violence and pain, because that's what colonisation brings. The Krakoa age in X-men for me really spoke to something I didn't realise I was longing for. A safe place. No racists allowed. Your kids can look however and no one will pick on them for it. Government leaders can't hurt you because you've got the strength to defend yourself. No more fear, no more lateral violence because we're all united. Yeah it's a pipe dream... but it spoke to something that made the tension in my chest ease a little. Having a storyline where all of that gets ripped down and mutants are massacred at a community gathering... it's pretty tone deaf. Hell, they even poisoned the mutants medicine. Just need Nimrod to stand handing out small pox blankets. What's the take away? Mutants (marginalised people) will never be safe? If you lift your head up too high and start to actually recover they'll stomp us back down again? Yeah cheers Marvel, we know. Thanks for that. We've always known. They elevate LGBTQI inclusivity into their comics and make that normal and hopeful but they just can't get it right for Indigenous people. (p.s. I really hate that Storm hates Charles now as if he came and stole her away from her people. She could have gone home anytime she wanted to. That's a stupid story hook written by people who think the only way a black woman becomes powerful is by over coming the white men in her life. I appreciate that you're trying, Marvel, but sometimes you just make it worse I swear.)
about 'how do you kill a person you can't touch', it's been covered. kp has been killed several times, although i don't remember the names of the storylines it happened in, as there are millions of them. i stopped reading comics a while back, so the last time she was killed that i'm able to quote was in 'marvel zombies'. a previous one that i still own was 'what if' nr. 27, 'what if phoenix had not died'. her phasing power doesn't mean much for a being of that level, as she can be forced to return solid and it's happened several times as well. as for being the most powerful being in the whole universe, that's just not possible, for more than the above reasons. kate's powers have a drawback, while she's phasing she can't breathe so she needs to complete her task quickly. kp engaging an opponent in a vacuum would be problematic, all the opponent would have to do is keep out of her reach and she'd either suffocate or would have to turn back.

Thank goodness for this - I subscribed to the Marvel Unlimited app recently and decided to read X-Men. Started reading it and... from what I have seen these characters are all smug idiots that are in control of their own country and have even conquered death. They seriously need to be taken down a few pegs.
Keep in mind that during the KIB event, towards the end of it, it was alluded that ice dude was a frost giant. Frost giants have their own version of Valhalla in lore. That was where he was at.

M.O.D.O.K isn't really an important character compared to Stasis, Moira, Nimrod or Orchis. He's actually an annoyance and doesn't need to be there. Stasis is the clone of Sinister. Sinister was a henchmen of Apocalypse, and was responsible for weapon + (Captain America) and weapon × (Wolverine). And he was responsible for Nate Grey (my favourite character). Moira can reincarnate with everything from her previous life, she's probably immortal since in PoX she is at the Ascension with Wolverine and the Phalanx. She's also basically the Creator of Krakoa as a mutant nation. In my opinion ever since she was introduced by Jonathan Hickman as what she is, she has become the most dangerous character in Marvel Comics. Nimrod doesn't need me to acknowledge his importance, only a fool would think M.O.D.O.K is Nimrod's equal.
A lot of X fans are getting on my nerves. For the first time in 4 years, we have actual stakes again and all they're complaining about is their power fantasies being challenged which is literally the point of a superhero book. Especially with marvel characters who are by design supposed to be grounded.
This came too soon after Sins of SInister imo. However this feels as though the write is demanding payback for all those years of having the X-Men as virtually immortal. They have to pay for all the lives they were given. Glad to see the Avengers are involved. I mean logically they would know this is all so much BS. Especially Carol Danvers who is annoyingly absent. She is closer to the X-Men than anyone else having lived with them after first meeting Rogue.
It seems like the Bobby Drake thing was just the writers letting us know that as long as his molecules can reform, he can't really die. So the only way to stop Ice Man is to pull a "Cronos maneuver" and chop him up and isolate the pieces.
I really want to see the Fall of X breakdown. That one picture of Wolverine is just 🔥I personally liked it but I dont get the response people are having. The Xmen are made a hot commodity in the Comics to the Mainstream audience for the First time since maybe the Grant Morrison era,and then the Krakoan Era is drawn out for so long that people have been practically begging them to do something to advance the plot, and now that its going ahead people are saying they want the Krakoan Era drawn out even longer. I’ll give kitty the whole phasing and killing people bit, but her snapping a neck, and throwing a guy. Kitty is like 120 pounds. Like would have been cooler if she just sauntered around putting things inside of people, or use some conventional karate to throw people based off their weight. Not lift a dude up by the collar and belt buckle.
Mutants often have minor Superhuman physical abilities, if she is able to crush a man's head like a water melon while he is wearing a helmet I can buy her throwing a guy and snapping someone's neck in fact the former is way more scary than the latter.
So tired of story after story of the badguys just committing acts of evil and never really paying for it. I mean they'll have the "heros" stop the big plan in the end. But They never kill them, or even send them to jail for longer than a week. Sometimes not at all. And now Marvel's just going game of thrones level horrible on the x-men, it's to much for me. These aren't superhero stories anymore. They're just victims in every story trying to overcome their trauma. That's not fun reading. Or maybe I'm just older and bitter, 😂 Yeah, it's probably the latter
It’s going to be beautiful when the Krakoa arc finally ends. It was cool for a while, but so many of the characters have changed drastically. I want to see my old friends again. I’m sure Marvel’s ramping up to it since they’ll likely want the MCU to match and I doubt Krakoa will play any part in the X-Men’s debut.
I had a problem with Marvel making Iceman gay because of quite a few reasons. One... It's really seemed like he's become a completely different character now, but that's just in my opinion and how I view it sometimes. Hell, in this Krakoa age, everybody's a different character now, so I guess it doesn't even matter. Definitely not as much as the next thing here. And two. Because he's one of the few male domestic abuse and rape victims in comics, and that really spoke to me as a victim myself. His relationship with Mystique was highly abusive and rape via deception, then there's also Warbird's sexual harassment of him and even borderline assault. Making him gay really nullifies that and quite honestly even pokes fun at it. Saying that what happened to me, and countless other men, didn't "actually happen" or wasn't as bad. So, to me, because of that, making him gay is insanely hurtful because that just erases a decently sized story-line that had personally helped me.

Marvel's writing is so bad lately. Stop killing characters if you can't be bold enough to leave them dead. I love Bobby Drake. I love Kamala Kahn. But if you're going to kill them, just leave them dead. The ways that Marvel brings characters back is so piss poor from a writing standpoint and made even worse by the fact that they keep doing it. Death means nothing anymore, except for the nameless civilians or cannon fodder enemies we don't care about. The near complete lack of ability to create new and interesting characters is likely why they keep doing this.

And this is a character that was hyped up to be a "leader"...

What really bugs me about Fall of X Hellfire Gala is that Orchis could suddenly just DO things that logically and storywise, they should not be ABLE to do. 1. Tampering with the gates and changing their functions. How do you hack an organism? 2. Nimrod physically defeating the Juggernaut. I don't care how strong Nimord's technology is, or his artificial body is, Juggernaut has god-level power. 3. Xavier is the most powerful mutant telepath (except maybe for Jean). But Orchis just has helmets that can block him. Very poor storytelling. 4. The X books have always played fast and loose with numbers. Somehow millions of mutants were walked through gates in a couple of pages? This would take much longer. 5. Another storytelling flaw: Having Xavier surrender and acquiesce to demands again, only for the enemy to still do what they threatened him with. This same thing happened when he and Magneto battled Nimrod at the end of Inferno. Very lazy to do that again. 6. Speaking of very lazy things to do again, killing Jean.
all of that has been justificated in previous numbers, for example nighmantire and a group that stole krakoans plants use tech and magic to infect the plants of krakoa. now nimrod CAN defeat gods, he was one of the reassons why humanity and mutankind lost in the war againts sentinels, he kills thor, hulk, franklin richards.... now telepathy protection was one of the oldest used thing in marvel and this tech was made by iron man and reed richards, only jean has been able to destroy this defenses, but she´s dead, the mutants walking to the gates takes all night, in thousands of gates at the same time... it´s not hard to do the numbers, now what they do to xavier in inferno it´s presicely what would destroy krakoa and moira tells that to him... but when magneto and xavier died they didn´t remember this event, and moira knows that he would fall again to that trick, and jean being killed kinda, she is going to return, but she has been killed before because every mutant trust that they will be resurected again by the 5
This is the one thing about Marvel comics I have never understood. The marvel universe is full of people with special abilities, and no one on earth in the marvel universe has a problem with Thor or the whole, or Spider-Man like they don’t freak the average person out, but a mutant can have the exact same power that a non-mutant hero has, and everyone freaks out because they’re a “mutant” I’m sorry that’s really stupid writing. You’re not freaked out by the abilities you’re just freaked out about if they’re a mutant or not. So if nightcrawler was hiding in a nuclear reactor one day and that’s how he became who he is and he wasn’t a mutant, but had the exact same abilities. There wouldn’t be a prejudiced against him in the logic of the Marvel universe. That’s dumb

Am I the only one getting burnout trying to follow all of this? Seems like the continuity is all over the place and it’s a pain in the ass unless you read every single side story. I’m reading X-Men, X-Men: Red, Immortal X-Men, X-Men: Before the Fall, all the Sins of Sinister storyline, etc etc etc… and it’s getting to be a bit much at this point.

Kitty Pryde phased a giant-shaped bullet meant to destroy the Earth, saving everyone's life. She fought the Brood when she was a kid. She's always been a badass, she didn't need to rip someone's heart out to become one.
I liked the original story of Marvel only having a limited number of mutants in the world, but as the company grew the stories expanded and now we have other worlds and galaxies full of mutants with crazy powersets so, how can these type of stories where mutants get killed even exist? Lazy azz writing to me. These type of stories would only make sense if Marvel stayed true to its original premis of a limited amount of mutants that could experience an extinction level event.
All it takes is one being that can nullify mutant powers, which we've seen before, and Kitty Pryde is done for, so I wouldn't say she's one of the most powerful beings.
I said the same thing. I think it would be more than fair to say she was one of, if not the, deadliest hand to hand combatants in the Marvel Universe. Or has the potential to be, at least. But yeah, there are a good number of characters who could simply remove her from the board with a single thought.

This is some of the _worst_ writing to ever come out of Marvel. Nobody's motivations make any sense, nobody acts sensibly to achieve their desired goal. I concocted better fanfiction while pooping in middle school than this ridiculous shlock.
Ice Man's revival made sense to me. I feel like that "spread thin" line implies that he was literally vaporized, and his consciousness scattered with the vapor, but Romeo was able to sense Bobby's love and use his empath powers to gather them back together. Vapor condenses back into water, then *boom* Ice Man.
This whole Karkoa saga is so boring. The doomsday scenario future is also a dumb plot thread to begin with. Barely anything interesting happens. Like, it's not THE worst thing, but it's not really interesting. Just want to see how it all ends and gets reset again.
Glad to see the back of the soulless plant clones and their fascist/segregation state. The Death Star sized plot throughout Krakoan era turned 60 years of X-men continuity into gibberish.
The iceman story isn't lazy writing. It's a way to show iceman's extreme level of power. They have shown his omega level power...this is just a way to add to that. Showing himself (and us) how powerful he really is/can be.

At no time ever did Kitty retain any skills or training she had while being possessed by the mutant ninja master. This is why Logan trained her in the ways of the Ninja. Oguns influence was completely gone and Kitty retained nothing outside of what Logan taught her.

Bobby shouldn't need a plot device to come back from the dead. His physical form has been destroyed before, and he has reformed from the vapor in the air. He has hitchhiked in the body of someone whose powers turn them into fire, he has physically resisted the juggernaut and turned his own body into liquid or vapor on multiple occasions...

Honestly not a fan of this arc. The story seems weak, and the overall idea of a mutant genocide has just been done to death (pun intended). You have so many other superpowered beings on the earth including potential unstable destroyers like Sentry, Hulk, etc...but you ignore all the radiation guys, you ignore the super serum guys, you ignore the space alien guys...and ONLY target the different people who have a genetic mutation?

I was a X-Men fan for decades mostly through the Chris Claremont /John Byrne era. However, I quit collecting them because the characters became unrecognizable to me. This was due to the mass production of what seemed like a billion X-Men titles , and due to all of the convoluted storylines that were written. Reading about this new storyline, and all the other recent storylines saddened me. I am saddened by the current storyline because it seems so unnecessarily violent, and Dark. The X-Men of this era and their stories are so dark, and they seem to lacks the main thread of hope, and family that the X-Men had during my youth and early adulthood. To me when I was reading the X-Men the stories were a about a small group of outcasts, and misfits who somehow became a family and they were dedicated to protecting a world that fear and hatred them. The X-Men were real to me, because each of them had breath and a pulse, they experienced tragedies and joy. However, whatever threat or darkness they faced they did so as a family. The X-Men stories now just seem to be nothing more than a money grab that lack depth or meaning.

Iceman has self resurrection. He can survive in water’s liquid and gas forms. His self resurrection would possibly be delayed but never prevented.

The idea that dr. Statis came to a place where he knows there are telepaths with no protection (while the foot soldiers had psyiionic helmets) ruins this for me.

Kitty has always been one of the most deadly of the x-men if she chose. Combine that with the ninja training and she's well nigh unstoppable. There was that one fight I think back in the Clairmont days where she and Colossus nuked a sentinel by phasing a lamp post inside of it and let go.
Fighting a Kitty Pride that's willing to kill would be like something out of a horror movie.
If i remember correctly, at one point in the comics, Kitty was picked to be to be the public face and leader of the x-men team and one of the reasons was because her power Wouldn't scare people!

It matters that Marvel comes out to say Bobby is Gay because recently before Hickman’s run, there was a point in Marvel’s run of the X-Men where OG Young Bobby was plucked from the past and put into the present. The entire Dark Mirror story was part of that conundrum. During that run, it was stated that Bobby was straight even though Bobby is Gay and Marvel said “Same Bobby.”
This is Marvel retconning a mistake they made in the 2000s/2010s regarding Iceman who was canonically Gay and one of the first Gay Superheroes in Marvel.
Edit: it’s very imporant because you have to remember that the X-Men is an allegory for the civil rights movement which consisted of a multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-religious, multi-gender, multi-class, and multi-orientation movement fighting for basic human rights in a country that did not want Non-Cisgender heterosexual rich white men to be given rights of any kind.
The making Xavier, Colossus, Beast everyone bad just to cause suffering like they do Spiderman is getting old. Things can be complex but everything extremely dark is weak writing.
I'm an Indigenous Australian. The whole "Humanity hates you and wants you dead" isn't a fictional comic book idea for us. It was government policy. "Social Darwinism" where black people were considered too unevolved to survive and the kindest thing to do is to take their kids and breed them into white society. My family history is so full of rape and violence and pain, because that's what colonisation brings.
The Krakoa age in X-men for me really spoke to something I didn't realise I was longing for. A safe place. No racists allowed. Your kids can look however and no one will pick on them for it. Government leaders can't hurt you because you've got the strength to defend yourself. No more fear, no more lateral violence because we're all united. Yeah it's a pipe dream... but it spoke to something that made the tension in my chest ease a little.
Having a storyline where all of that gets ripped down and mutants are massacred at a community gathering... it's pretty tone deaf. Hell, they even poisoned the mutants medicine. Just need Nimrod to stand handing out small pox blankets. What's the take away? Mutants (marginalised people) will never be safe? If you lift your head up too high and start to actually recover they'll stomp us back down again? Yeah cheers Marvel, we know. Thanks for that. We've always known. They elevate LGBTQI inclusivity into their comics and make that normal and hopeful but they just can't get it right for Indigenous people.
(p.s. I really hate that Storm hates Charles now as if he came and stole her away from her people. She could have gone home anytime she wanted to. That's a stupid story hook written by people who think the only way a black woman becomes powerful is by over coming the white men in her life. about 'how do you kill a person you can't touch', it's been covered. kp has been killed several times, although i don't remember the names of the storylines it happened in, as there are millions of them. i stopped reading comics a while back, so the last time she was killed that i'm able to quote was in 'marvel zombies'. a previous one that i still own was 'what if' nr. 27, 'what if phoenix had not died'. her phasing power doesn't mean much for a being of that level, as she can be forced to return solid and it's happened several times as well. as for being the most powerful being in the whole universe, that's just not possible, for more than the above reasons. kate's powers have a drawback, while she's phasing she can't breathe so she needs to complete her task quickly. kp engaging an opponent in a vacuum would be problematic, all the opponent would have to do is keep out of her reach and she'd either suffocate or would have to turn back.

I don't really like how they made M.O.D.O.K a kind of henchman, background character behind Mora and Dr. Stasis and Orcis, and them.
M.O.D.O.K isn't really an important character compared to Stasis, Moira, Nimrod or Orchis. He's actually an annoyance and doesn't need to be there.
Stasis is the clone of Sinister. Sinister was a henchmen of Apocalypse, and was responsible for weapon + (Captain America) and weapon × (Wolverine). And he was responsible for Nate Grey (my favourite character).
Moira can reincarnate with everything from her previous life, she's probably immortal since in PoX she is at the Ascension with Wolverine and the Phalanx. She's also basically the Creator of Krakoa as a mutant nation. In my opinion ever since she was introduced by Jonathan Hickman as what she is, she has become the most dangerous character in Marvel Comics.
Nimrod doesn't need me to acknowledge his importance, only a fool would think M.O.D.O.K is Nimrod's equal.

This came too soon after Sins of SInister imo. However this feels as though the write is demanding payback for all those years of having the X-Men as virtually immortal. They have to pay for all the lives they were given. Glad to see the Avengers are involved. I mean logically they would know this is all so much BS. Especially Carol Danvers who is annoyingly absent. She is closer to the X-Men than anyone else having lived with them after first meeting Rogue.
It seems like the Bobby Drake thing was just the writers letting us know that as long as his molecules can reform, he can't really die. So the only way to stop Ice Man is to pull a "Cronos maneuver" and chop him up and isolate the pieces.

The Xmen are made a hot commodity in the Comics to the Mainstream audience for the First time since maybe the Grant Morrison era,and then the Krakoan Era is drawn out for so long that people have been practically begging them to do something to advance the plot,
and now that its going ahead people are saying they want the Krakoan Era drawn out even longer.
People with attitudes like that are ruining the pacing of comics.
Not a fan of Ms Marvel being a Mutant now,especially after being the poster child of the Inhumans for over a Decade.

I’ll give kitty the whole phasing and killing people bit, but her snapping a neck, and throwing a guy. Kitty is like 120 pounds. Like would have been cooler if she just sauntered around putting things inside of people, or use some conventional karate to throw people based off their weight. Not lift a dude up by the collar and belt buckle.

Mutants often have minor Superhuman physical abilities, if she is able to crush a man's head like a water melon while he is wearing a helmet I can buy her throwing a guy and snapping someone's neck in fact the former is way more scary than the latter.
So tired of story after story of the badguys just committing acts of evil and never really paying for it. I mean they'll have the "heros" stop the big plan in the end.
But They never kill them, or even send them to jail for longer than a week.
Sometimes not at all.
And now Marvel's just going game of thrones level horrible on the x-men, it's to much for me.
These aren't superhero stories anymore.
They're just victims in every story trying to overcome their trauma.

Shes basically a weaker version of Mirio Lemillion from My Hero Acadamia. But with much less control and less good writing.
It’s going to be beautiful when the Krakoa arc finally ends. It was cool for a while, but so many of the characters have changed drastically. I want to see my old friends again. I’m sure Marvel’s ramping up to it since they’ll likely want the MCU to match and I doubt Krakoa will play any part in the X-Men’s debut.

I had a problem with Marvel making Iceman gay because of quite a few reasons. One... It's really seemed like he's become a completely different character now, but that's just in my opinion and how I view it sometimes. Hell, in this Krakoa age, everybody's a different character now, so I guess it doesn't even matter. Definitely not as much as the next thing here.
And two.
Because he's one of the few male domestic abuse and rape victims in comics, and that really spoke to me as a victim myself. His relationship with Mystique was highly abusive and rape via deception, then there's also Warbird's sexual harassment of him and even borderline assault. Making him gay really nullifies that and quite honestly even pokes fun at it. Saying that what happened to me, and countless other men, didn't "actually happen" or wasn't as bad.
So, to me, because of that, making him gay is insanely hurtful because that just erases a decently sized story-line that had personally helped me.

Marvel's writing is so bad lately. Stop killing characters if you can't be bold enough to leave them dead. I love Bobby Drake. I love Kamala Kahn. But if you're going to kill them, just leave them dead. The ways that Marvel brings characters back is so piss poor from a writing standpoint and made even worse by the fact that they keep doing it. Death means nothing anymore, except for the nameless civilians or cannon fodder enemies we don't care about. The near complete lack of ability to create new and interesting characters is likely why they keep doing this.
Man your readings of these comics got me to buy marvel unlimited and I've been hooked. You always bring a huge amount of energy and excitement. Thank you for doing you!

Really Kitty, that's your biggest concern right now, you really believe Firestar could be the root of the problem, or is it just a petty, impulsive kill because you feel betrayed? She came off really immature, petty, dumb and reckless in this issue. Anytime she ever did anything in the past 2 years felt like she just wanted to rebel and have her big "me" moment. And this is a character that was hyped up to be a "leader"...

I hated this issue so damn much. This felt completely unnecessary and wasn't entertaining to me. It felt like Ultimatum for solely the XMen.

What really bugs me about Fall of X Hellfire Gala is that Orchis could suddenly just DO things that logically and storywise, they should not be ABLE to do.
1. Tampering with the gates and changing their functions. How do you hack an organism?
2. Nimrod physically defeating the Juggernaut. I don't care how strong Nimord's technology is, or his artificial body is, Juggernaut has god-level power.
3. Xavier is the most powerful mutant telepath (except maybe for Jean). But Orchis just has helmets that can block him. Very poor storytelling.
4. The X books have always played fast and loose with numbers. Somehow millions of mutants were walked through gates in a couple of pages? This would take much longer.
5. Another storytelling flaw: Having Xavier surrender and acquiesce to demands again, only for the enemy to still do what they threatened him with. This same thing happened when he and Magneto battled Nimrod at the end of Inferno. Very lazy to do that again.
6. Speaking of very lazy things to do again, killing Jean.
all of that has been justificated in previous numbers, for example nighmantire and a group that stole krakoans plants use tech and magic to infect the plants of krakoa. now nimrod CAN defeat gods, he was one of the reassons why humanity and mutankind lost in the war againts sentinels, he kills thor, hulk, franklin richards.... now telepathy protection was one of the oldest used thing in marvel and this tech was made by iron man and reed richards, only jean has been able to destroy this defenses, but she´s dead, the mutants walking to the gates takes all night, in thousands of gates at the same time... it´s not hard to do the numbers, now what they do to xavier in inferno it´s presicely what would destroy krakoa and moira tells that to him... but when magneto and xavier died they didn´t remember this event, and moira knows that he would fall again to that trick, and jean being killed kinda, she is going to return, but she has been killed before because every mutant trust that they will be resurected again by the 5

This is the one thing about Marvel comics I have never understood. The marvel universe is full of people with special abilities, and no one on earth in the marvel universe has a problem with Thor or the whole, or Spider-Man like they don’t freak the average person out, but a mutant can have the exact same power that a non-mutant hero has, and everyone freaks out because they’re a “mutant” I’m sorry that’s really stupid writing. You’re not freaked out by the abilities you’re just freaked out about if they’re a mutant or not. So if nightcrawler was hiding in a nuclear reactor one day and that’s how he became who he is and he wasn’t a mutant, but had the exact same abilities. There wouldn’t be a prejudiced against him in the logic of the Marvel universe. That’s dumb

Am I the only one getting burnout trying to follow all of this? Seems like the continuity is all over the place and it’s a pain in the ass unless you read every single side story. I’m reading X-Men, X-Men: Red, Immortal X-Men, X-Men: Before the Fall, all the Sins of Sinister storyline, etc etc etc… and it’s getting to be a bit much at this point.

I liked the original story of Marvel only having a limited number of mutants in the world, but as the company grew the stories expanded and now we have other worlds and galaxies full of mutants with crazy powersets so, how can these type of stories where mutants get killed even exist? Lazy azz writing to me.
These type of stories would only make sense if Marvel stayed true to its original premis of a limited amount of mutants that could experience an extinction level event.
All it takes is one being that can nullify mutant powers, which we've seen before, and Kitty Pryde is done for, so I wouldn't say she's one of the most powerful beings.
Also attacks on the mind. From Jean, Emma or Xavier. Not to mention Scarlet Witch
I said the same thing. I think it would be more than fair to say she was one of, if not the, deadliest hand to hand combatants in the Marvel Universe. Or has the potential to be, at least. But yeah, there are a good number of characters who could simply remove her from the board with a single thought.
Exactly. She is so easy to take out with all the powersets and tech in the world. Shes also not the only mutant that can phase through matter. Get a villain who creates a suit she cant use her powers on and poof, her effectiveness drops to zero.

Ice Man's revival made sense to me. I feel like that "spread thin" line implies that he was literally vaporized, and his consciousness scattered with the vapor, but Romeo was able to sense Bobby's love and use his empath powers to gather them back together. Vapor condenses back into water, then *boom* Ice Man.
Oh god dont go to interstellar levels of "love is the answer" to justify things....

The iceman story isn't lazy writing. It's a way to show iceman's extreme level of power. They have shown his omega level power...this is just a way to add to that. Showing himself (and us) how powerful he really is/can be.
