I can totally relate when you say that you don't care too much for the specifics of the watch's mechanism but more to the overall look and feel of it. Well, this watch looks great and seems to be well built and pretty good value for money.
I think cool is fair, it may have an average movement but the design spot on for a Bauhaus style and with sapphire crystal, very cool and definitely on my list to own at some point
I own this one in white dial. Awesome looking watch, it scratches my itch of having a junghans max bill, while being more affordable and robust (sapphire, 50m wr).
ha, I was thinking that this would be a good beater version if i had a max bill. Conversely it’s close enough to the price of a junker, i don’t think i would bother w this one, save up for the real thing

The font for the numerals is DIN, a typeface designed by engineers for the use on German road signs. DIN stands for Deutsches Institut für Normung or German Institute for Standardisation. DIN became really popular in the 90s, when a modernised version for print use was released. The font in the date window is Helvetica. Personally I think this watch is a good option but the better looking option to me is the one with Ronda Quartz movement and No seconds hand. Why? Because seconds hand isn’t necessary, it’s slimmer and it sticks to its minimalistic approach much better. All while offering a more sensible price but to each their own.
For that price you can buy a casual watch (Seiko 5), a diver (Pro Diver), a dress watch (Bambino), a Gshock, a F91w and still have lunch money. Garbage at that price point.

Thanks for the video. Question: In the video, it appears that the seconds hand stopped when you changed the time (5:03). So does your version have hacking? As I understand, the Miyota 821A does not have hacking seconds. Thanks in advanced!
hi, i was just scrolling through here and saw you never got a response, and as an owner of a sternglas naos automatik (white dial) i can say that yes, it does feature hacking. It is a really nice watch when setting the time and date it just feels nice and crispy.
Sorry, a word on the Junghans: it has domed plexiglass which was common in the 1960s when it was designed. (The Omega Speedmaster Professional also has it.) -It’s a dress watch and really does not need much of a water resistance. The movement in the hand wound version is a customised ETA 2801-2 and the automatic uses a customised ETA 2824-2. That is quite common around the £800 mark.
i generally hates minimalist/ bauhaus style dial but this looks much better. even when compare to NOMOS or orient bambino u mention/reviewed previous on another episode. i myself own an orient star classic and a few pure no logo/brand Type A and Type B flieger watches. i might really consider buying one of this microbrand

This watch is ice cold!! I own the white dial one that I picked up on Kickstarter at a great price. 2 things that could be improved is that I wish it had a signed crown, and also the seconds hand is almost identical to the minute hand. So it can take a coup,e of seconds more to actually read the time. It would have been better if the second hand was a different colour perhaps.

That's the watch that all others in this price range should be judged.
I've got a vintage and a modern 5 and they're great.
Seiko 5 is good, reliable, and utterly boring. Its like a porridge, it gives you all you need, but are rather dull and tasteless.
Too bad their bronze version is PVD coated. I was looking for one that could patina
ice cold... as it is a Max Bill but cheaper.
Frankly, if I am reviewing something, I will order the item as an anonymous. The item sent for review might have done extra QC and effort to make the review advantageous for the brand / seller.
It is like me finding it hard to believe an influencer that the restaurant asked to visit and test their food at given date and time. I think going quietly during peak hours show how the place really work.
It seems a bit expensive for what it is.
I would rate this cool, but for the price the Orient Defender (automatic) is half the price, and a much better watch.
Lotta money for a cheap old myota movement that doesnt hack.
Especially when you can get the far superior nh35 in watches half the price.
Thanks for the review. A fashion watch with a disappointing 8 series Miyota movement and questionable value for cost.
13mm thickness for a 38mm watch is disproportionate. Also that’s fairly expensive for a fashion watch!
Very attractive watch but id pay $120 at most, maybe i can pick one up on the used market.
If that isn't a nomos ripoff, idk what is.
The quartz lacks a second hand :(
damn Ben still had hair!!
Review Forge x Foster Watches
Just cool. Too many Minimalist trend not bringing any new. Bulova for les that 200 has the American Clipper, much better and with true heritage. Better than the Orient Bambino (I got the same watch, but something just don’t feel it right}
where did they get their design inspiration? daniel wellington?
Cool.
Zeitmesser = Time Knife. Awesome.
It actually means something like time measurer.
@@KnoblauchScharf Messer is German for knife,
@@j.p.9522 True, but in this case messer comes from the verb "messen" which means to measure.
@@KnoblauchScharf Ah yes, that is true--but I suspect there is a double meaning in that word.
@@j.p.9522 no, Zeitmesser is just a synonym for Uhr (watch). It‘s intended to sound more sophisticated.
I’ll have to go uncool mostly because of the price
uncool, would've been a radically different vote if the pricing was more sensible
If I ever want a minimalist watch, I’ll go to Nomos, despite the higher price point. I’d rather have very few good (and thus expensive) watches than having cheaper but lower quality ones. My current collection is composed solely of a few Rolexes, some inherited, others presents, and others bought by me. It’s worth it.
I dont understand watches like this with an automatic movement. Just buy the quartz version if u like the look of it.
But who’d want a weighty and solid block of ice on their wrist to weigh them down ?
Buy a Seiko sarb033 . It is a beautiful black . Less money. Made in japan.
It's not less money.
To be honest, I doubt anyone considering this would be looking at a Seiko sarb. Very different looking watches
Not less money, and they do not belong to the same category
