    What a great thing to bring to a party! You could even put them in jars and give as gifts. I usually give jars of homemade granola to people through the holidays, but I may switch it up this year and make these nuts.

    Thank you for this recipe! My husband and I love nuts, so I just made them and they're in the oven...I'll let you know how they turn out! We used pecans, cashews, walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts, and almonds. Update: These are so good! The only issue was that some of them were burned. I put them in for 15 minutes, so I'll try 5-10 next time.

    Hi I've been watching your channel on and off for a while, at first I thought you were both very extreme and never thought I'd ever be able to follow such a regime, well guess what I've recently adopted this lifestyle and I feel absolutely great, I started to watch your dad on TH-cam and it all makes perfect sense to do this.....keep doing what your doing guys and thankyou

      Congratulations on going plant based!! I always wanted to be a vegetarian, but was never a big fan of vegetables. I also watched a lot of these ladies’ videos before finally switching. I never thought I would ever be able to cook but I’ve made several of their recipes and they came out pretty good!! I’m a big fan of spices now, they make eating vegetables a lot better for me. Congratulations!!

    I love how flexible this recipe is, in terms of possible substitutions. I had my nuts all measured out and was ready to start making this today and discovered I was out of curry powder (oh no! gotta add more of that to the list asap!). But I substituted garam masala, and then as I continue to add ingredients I discovered I was out of rosemary so I substituted herb de Provence (which has rosemary in it). It still came out great!
    It also got me to thinking what other spices and flavors one could use, it might also be good with a chili flavoring profile, or a pumpkin spice type of profile, or maybe teriyaki flavor?
    Btw has anyone tried using date syrup on this instead of maple syrup? Just wondering how that might turn out.

    Oh my goodness. Best recipe I’ve made in a long, long time. Thank goodness I decided to double it because my family can’t get enough! I used walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and raw jungle peanuts. I ran out of cayenne so I threw in a little ancho. These are amazing.

    Thanks!

    " How do we swallow? The act of swallowing food is quite a complicated process. It is done by nerves, muscles, ligaments, and glands. Included in this process are the larynx, the uvula, the epiglottis, the soft palette, the tongue, lips, nose, lungs, diaphragm, the abdominal muscles, and the brain! You must be brown and yellow as a former Hathaway Brown high school teacher. The tongue kneads the food into a bolus(a large pill). The bolus then passes into the gullet , or esophagus, which is about 10 inches long. The walls of the gullet consist of muscle fibers, and the food is pushed through the gullet by the contractions of it's walls. That's why it's actually possible to eat and drink while hanging with one's head downward. What makes the muscles contract during swallowing? In the wall of the alimentary canal are nerves which react to the presence of food. The food touches the wall of the canal, stimulates the nerves, and the nerves cause the muscles to contract- pushing the food through." My mom really loathed Contemporary Christian music, we only listened to Classical music, she opined that its was devoid of musical talent, it irrated the development of her shell pearls. During the course, of her salvation promotion as a Staunch Catholic

    My bp and cholesterol did not improve until I ditched the nuts. Everything else was the Esselstyn diet. I don't need to see something that makes them more delicious. Nuts are dangerous. What I'd like is a way to make sweet potatoes taste like peanuts...or any nut.

    How about making 12 cups air popped popcorn, put the syrup in a spritz bottle (mark TBSP levels so you can fill it and still use 1 or 2 tablespoons easily
    ... spread popcorn out on baking sheet and spray with syrup, then sprinkle with the seasoning mixture.. put in oven for a few minutes (watch carefully and stir frequently - don't walk away!), then give the finished nut mixture a rough chop and combine with popcorn mixture.... voila, 7 times the snacking pleasure for the same fat!!! I love your videos so much!!

    • @exileinil
      @exileinil 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh that sounds like a great idea on popcorn. But wouldn't the maple syrup get gunked up in a spritz bottle? Or do you have a special spritzer that works with thicker liquids? Of course I keep my maple syrup in the fridge, I suppose I could warm it up a bit and then it might be thinner?
