I have a condition I was born with- Cerebral Palsey. I spasm when I eat. Need more information on plant based diet. Any vitamin deficiencies? I think I've heard B 12 is low or missing. Can it help other things than heart disease? Dr. Daniel Amen says What's good for the brain is good for the body. He's close to this but not exactly.

so riddle me this, if u go vegan u will need to supplemant b12 & IMHO choline. so how can a diet be considered whole and/or complete if u must supplemant? i agree about processed foods/sugars etc. i will agree we should more, much more plant based & much less meat sourced foods. look at our forefathers being hunter/gatherers using sticks/stones to hunt with. makes pretty good sense that meat was truly a luxury item back then. not many are even aware of choline which in the western diet there are only 2 foods that supply a generous amount, that being eggs & liver. however, going back to our forefathers diet, rabbit, possum & squirrel are all excellent sources. so to each his own, i enjoy both rabbit & squirrel but havent tried possum yet.

I had end-stage heart disease 16 months ago requiring 6 different medications and a stent. 17 months later I have no angina and have my life back. It took me a lot of effort to go whole plant-based as I hunt and fish. I have been solid on this new diet with the only exception of 3 times eating fish in a survival situation on an island. I now grow all my own vegetables and I can run up to 12 km with no chest pain. I have had no stent and I am not taking any medication. My LDL was 5.8. It is now 1.7 I feel good.

Cathy Carpenter This was a major topic for me last week when I saw my endocrinologist. Because I was interested in something called the Virta program which is endorsed by the VA so I inquired with my doctor because they claim that they can reverse type two diabetes. He was adamant that once you have type two diabetes you’ll always have it. It doesn’t go away, he said what it does is it remains dormant. But you will always have it and It can always flare up at any time. Since my diagnosis I’ve lost 129 pounds. And my A1 C is down to 5.8. I’m not knocking this because everyone is different. I know how my body works though and it would not be receptive to this.

Dr. Esselstyn has been doing WFPB diet for 34 years...so he had 50 years of growing up on meat. That's why he looks good at 84, due to all of the animal protein stores. He essentially put himself into a slow metabolism state at age 50. I'm certain he eats other foods like eggs or shellfish.

But when you drop some of the excess myocellular fat, you do get leaner and more wrinkles. That's how healthy people in their 50s are supposed to look, not all plumped up with fat they shouldn't be carrying. Mrs Plant ma'am, it works because you cut out lots of refined sugar and carbohydrates. Are you bloated? Do you have tons of fiber sitting in your gut? Not me, not anymore. I healed all my problems by eating nothing but animal and animal products. When people start the vegan diet and think that they're healing themselves, it's only because they've cut out other problems. A fast would have gotten you the same thing. Veganism is a 20-year starvation process. Vegan babies literally die with full stomachs. We can only digest about 12 to 20% of nutrients and vegetables, because they are in their raw form. We have an acidic digestive system like all carnivores, herbivores have alkaline digestive systems, because they grow bacteria to do the digesting for them. Are you ever tired during the day? I used to be, not anymore. I'm never hungry, never tired, never feeling weak, never depressed, I can work a lot harder, and longer.
Besides, it's not much of a healthy diet if you have to supplement just keep your nutrients up

I ran into Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn's video and also read his book Prevent and Reverse Heart disease. Followed his diet protocol(which is recommended for individuals w/ heart disease) even though I don't have a heart disease. I thought I'd give it a try and went on a WFPB diet. Also, my daily breakfast is cooked old-fashioned oatmeal w/ frozen blueberries and flaxseed powder. 3 - 4x a week on an elliptical machine for 15 - 20 mins.
My lab results was mind blowing after 2 months on a plant based diet and some cardio exercise. Total cholesterol 189 and LDL 113. I responded well with the diet. I don't need statin drug as initially was recommended by my primary doctor. Still to this day, 90% of a time I consume plant based food and 10% I cheat(when I eat out)😀😀

So we see allot of people who have practiced this diet.
The majority of people who have tried this diet do not last long even when taking the nessesery supplements. It works amazingly for a while but gradually your health deteriorates. Some people dont realise this, untill they have meat and dairy and literally feel healthy again. In addition the bloodwork we see from veteran vegans is appalling.

I used to have an appetite that was never satisfied; whole foods cured it. I no longer use a sleep apnea machine. Finally, the food is cheap-Beans, lentils, rice, potatoes and seasonal apples. Also, I save money by not having to buy pills or visit the Doctor. I am thankful to all the vegans who suffered attacks to reveal the truth to me.

Whole-food plant-based food tastes good and it is really easy to transition, especially if you already have a friend who eats plant-based. Ask if you can come over and help her cook dinner and see what you do differently and why. And enjoy the taste. My husband never thought he could eat this way but he now even tells our children how good it tastes and he is post prostate cancer surgery. I cook in batches and swap foods around so the cooking time per day is really no headache. One thing I did not think would happen is that you become happy, I feel joy. Who would have thought, but my gut now can produce its own serotonin and the extra gets shared with my brain and I am suddenly sleeping better.

KJ's WHAT I EAT KJ's WHAT I EAT eating plant-based makes you bloated and fat. One, look up leaky gut syndrome, to look at how fiber rots in your gut and just stays there, 3, look how plant nutrients are in their raw form and don't break down. We need herbivores to break them down for us. our digestive systems are acidic, like every carnivore on this dang planet. herbivores have alkaline digestive systems, because they can't break down their own food, instead they cultivate bacteria to do it for them

I am 65. My age spots are lighter, and 1/2 have disappeared. My skin is less ruddy, my ankles are no longer swollen. I've been vegetarian for years, but have gone complete Vegan for the last 2 months. I had lost some weight going vegetarian and stopped drinking milk at the same time and my arthritis was cured. But an occasional dinner of meat, and soon I was hooked again. Which lead to my gallbladder surgery. Since then I've done better but was not losing weight, which I needed to lose. Since getting serious about being Vegan, now I have upped the anti and eat mostly raw and feel so good. It took me a while to be able to do this as at first, I was either not chewing long enough or lacked the enzymes at first as my bowels went so much I was sore. So I backed off and then was better and creeped into raw more slowly and am just fine. Feeling the best since being a teenager. Lots of energy.
Have to get off coffee, it is the hardest to give up. I drink it about half the time though and usually don't finish it, so I am working on it. Quit beer and wine without an effort.
I still have a problem getting a good night sleep except for sometimes. When I lose enough I think I'll take up running again as when I was younger, it made me sleep like a baby. That is how good I feel.

If Dr. Esselstyn started lecturing at every Medical University in this country, they would start a war against him to discredit his name in every way possible.
I had a mastectomy two years ago at a teaching "University Hospital." I did tons of research about Cancer and nutrition before and after my surgery. I was horrified by the menu they gave to the patients. Nothing but unhealthy foods, everything that I - as a recovering Cancer patient - wasn't supposed to eat.
Healing starts in your gut. Thank you for this great video.

    Nixon’s war on cancer, 1971... that’s all I’m saying.
Treating an unhealthy diet with prescription drugs with all the side effects is a tired approach. There should be a prescription of a whole food plant based diet.

Never happen because there is no money in it. I'm 77 and don't use any meds. I have friends my age and older that are so into the traditional western medical system that they are scared to even entertain the idea of a change. They look at me like I am crazy. Haven't been to a doctor since 1986 and they still won't listen to me. I don't talk about it anymore. Sad.

Patrick van meter Yes, it’s very sad... but I wouldn’t say “never”. No disrespect. While you are right there’s no money in a cure or any real money in proposing a plant based diet what we do have is the internet. Info is being passed around like crazy and one just has to make sense of it all and follow ones own heart. I think too perhaps that a plant based diet is so straight forward, so simple that the average unhealthy person can’t comprehend. But I for one will press on, I’m a third your age and I’ll be saying the same thing about being on no western meds when I’m 77!
