Veganism is an act of nonviolent defiance. It is our statement that we reject the notion that animals are things and that we regard sentient nonhumans as moral persons with the fundamental moral right not to be treated as the property or resources of humans.

OMG, you guys. especially Jane, are so real and funny. I'm sorry but I laughed my head off. I make these all the time, first whirl the ketchup and tofu in the food processor then add the chunky pickle relish. Drain the saurkraut a tad, otherwise, the sandwich is too wet. I have never had onion sprouts but I'm sure to try it now. LOLOLOL, I love you guys.

  • @thespiritualistoslo

I made this sandwich and it was WONDERFUL! The only change I made was that I added some of the typicla 'pickling spices' that are used for corned beef to the brine - as in bay leaf, garlic, onion, cloves, ginger, allspice and mustart seeds. I also added a bit of beetjuice to give it a redish color and an earthy flavor. This is as good as - or better than - any ruben I have ever eaten with corned beef :-)

I like tempeh in thinner slices cut on the side into bacon like slices then; 1. marinate in Bragg's (or your favorite low sodium soy sauce), touch of maple syrup, black pepper, granulated garlic powder & a touch of liquid smoke in a plastic bag overnight in the refrigerator 2. bake on parchment paper (this will go quickly 10 minutes or so).

  • @barrycasey9144

This is very good even for non vegans. Much better to let tempeh marinate overnight. Will be making this many times and already shared the recipe. I used spinach, tomato, red onion, & sauerkraut, so good. Oh, and yes, drain the sauerkraut some or it’s too soggy!

That looks great, I eat anything I want, but mostly eat plant-based at home, so looking forward to making these.🥰

It’s all about Sauerkraut! HIGHLY recommend you toasting bread before assembling sandwich!

I never liked Reuben as a non vegan. However, I’ve tried it plat based and OMG!!! I am obsessed with this and can’t wait to try it.

Yum! I grew up eating Reuben’s in NYC. I am glad to have a new use for tempeh. And sauerkraut is one of my favorite things.
