    What a beautiful piano. They got the wrong delivery location, however. I'll forward my home address as soon as possible.

    I got to play a Hamburg compared to a New York, and what a difference. If you’re into Bösendorfer or Yamaha CF as I am, then a Hamburg is for you. It has that extra level of richness and has that punch making it perfect for concert halls, whereas New York’s are too mellow in my opinion. Ian Parker describes it perfectly in this video starting from 3:06 and on. 😃

    For everyone who can't afford it, have a look at addictive keys studio grand. It is a plugin for a DAW that is sampled from the steinway model d.

    At 1:17 it is stated that the piano has to go to a warehouse to be climatized.
    Is that because the woods are improperly and insufficiently seasoned ?
    I have received delivery on many new Faziolis, Bechsteins , Bosendorfers , and many other premium brand pianos, Never, ever would I bring them to a "warehouse " where I have no control over the humidity.
    Also, in 40 years, I have never seen a premium piano shipped in cardboard. Cardboard is fine for inexpensive entry level pianos from Indonesia. Even mid level pianos are shipped from Europe in sturdy watertight solid wood shipping crates. Do you understand how many hungover fork drivers moved this 1500 pound box?

    I definitely prefer the Hamburgs too. Though I’ve noticed the New York Steinways are looking and sounding very close to their German cousins now.

    • @GBGB000
      @GBGB000 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Undoubtedly the fact that over 90% of concert pianists are contractually obligated to perform only on Steinways. The Steinway mafia has over 1800 pianists by the nuts, including all the biggest names in the business. It's a monopoly.
