Amazing people. They make me miss Singapore. It's not the food that makes me go back per se, but the people who give Singapore its soul. They make overseas Singaporeans want to stay connected and stay open to the future. I came here coz I read that Mdm Leong had to close and the landlord was part of the decision. That was my fav wanton mee shop, never short of customers. More needs to be invested into these people and creating an environment in which they can/will thrive. If Singaporeans can become more open to one another and what makes our culture priceless, we'd gradually understand how to fit things together and make better solutions available to everyone.

Watching this.... I'm informed. I'm nostalgic. I'm moved. To me, this series - and I mean both seasons 1 and 2 - is on par or better than other food series like Chef's table and Ugly Delicious. This documentary series must continue. I'm sure there are more stories to tell.

The Singapore hawker culture is such a precious heritage and one that hopefully continues to thrive. But even if it doesn't in 50 years time, we at least have these videos that document the lives and struggles of the heroes that run our hawker stalls!
More of such quality and insightful videos please! 😁
