It's 25 mph and no matter which way you go you're crossing the bike trail. Even at night you have close to 200 people (families with their children) walking to these places cause there is 0 parking around the restaurants. They're all clumped together and down the bike path. It's a beautiful area, but her being that drunk driving through there... I'm not surprised at all she was pulled over. The cops stay in that area and there's quite a few that patrol at all times.
This is exactly why so many cops are against body cameras. They prefer the old days where they could be corrupt and get away with it. They don't like that the cameras hold them accountable for their actions.
Love how Augie was given every respect you can imagine .... but if someone else had acted the same way, they'd have been tazed, face-planted into the concrete and had multiple charges logged against them. @#$% THIS!!!! Officers not only should be held to the same standard, they should be held to an even higher standard if a crime is committed because they're entrusted to enforcing the laws surrounding such behavior, arresting people and taking away their rights as well as supposedly "Protecting" those who can't protect themselves. Prosecute the over-sized bastard and get it over with.
Why the hell is that first cop still employed? That pig is clearly drunk, the fact that he was more than willing to get back behind the wheel is INSANE and criminal
Isn't it amazing how patient and understanding cops are when they're dealing with other cops? You just know if it wasn't for the camera, they would be covering up for him. The rest of us? We'd get thrown in a cell and the full force of the law would be thrown at us.
It really sickening to see how much these cops get treated with kid gloves. "We'll park the car, we won't tow it" "You won't spend the night in jail, we'll get you home tonight" yuck
"i'm not gonna charge for you the gun, I won't do that to you" -- and "i can't let you go, this is being recorded". that cop was super uncomfortable having to arrest one of his tribe
I agree, but also it kinda depends on the area, sometimes, tbh. Might be a small rural area where the cops don't have better shit to do, for example. I grew up in a small town, and got into a small accident and subsequently arrested, one of the cops or EMS or something on-scene did me a favor after I was taken away and drove my car back to my house (a mile or 2 on back roads) - and I didn't know anybody there. No bill or tow truck or anything, somebody just did me a solid b/c it was near my house and they had nothing better to do. Never found out who, was just waiting for me when I got home. As for spending the night in jail, it depends on the PD's policy. Some require that you sober up before letting you go home, but some will let you go sooner if you have somebody pick you up, as is usually the case with minors. The gun thing is the big one for me, though. There's no real excuse for that Cops usually give other cops leeway there b/c it's their service weapon, but a lot of avg people would get have that tacked on as well.
I saw plenty of dui arrests, most of the time they park the cars and be nice. Only if ur acti g out it sucks. But front cuffs is a favor surely. First one was a close friend/ckworker and still didnt get off.

Amanda Caton was found not guilty of OVI a couple of years later. As a side note, her husband was fired from the same police department approximately 20 years ago for an assault causing a death but then re-instated. A couple of solid public servants.
Of course. They know to deny all tests because then it is damn near impossible to convict. They're going to arrest you if they want to arrest you and those tests only make it easier on them.
I just looked up the case of Amanda Caton. Somehow she was found NOT GUILTY of her charges.. Also she wasn't charged for carrying a gun while drunk neither was her husband. This reeks of injustice to me.
Every time I watch one of these videos, and every time you put the character profile up at the beginning of each case, I keep thinking I’ve switched my PlayStation on. That beep gets me every single damn time.
The entitlement of the husband in that second video which turned to aggression real quick when they werent let go was gross and it epitomizes why people have issues with police
For those interested in the second officer in video, here is a bit about her husband in the kilt. Lt. Patrick Caton in 2002: Caton admitted to investigators that he called a pedestrian a “stupid n****r” while in his patrol car. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Caton faced several accusations before this, including one in 1999 in which a woman claimed he directed the N-word at her 15-year-old son. (Separately, Caton was fired over an assault charge connected to the November 2000 death of Roger Owensby while in police custody. An independent arbitrator reinstated Caton and awarded him $200,000 in back pay.) According to Fox 19, Caton is married to Amanda Caton, a CPD captain who is currently in charge of the Internal Investigations Section that investigates officer misconduct.
"I'm an officer too" should always be followed by the investigating officer saying "That means you should be driving sober and setting an example of what to do on the road, and you already know the procedure to find out if that's what is going on."
Exactly. But funny how they always get light sentences (and that's the ones that don't just let off by their "brothers in blue"). Such bs. They should have higher sentences cuz like you said they're in a position of power and with power comes responsibility.
I´m feeling so bad for Auggie. He´s looking so desperate. Everybody can get problems with alcohol or drugs. Me as well. And the most people in such cases need help just to recognize what´s going on with them. I´m hoping that Auggie is getting the help he´s needing. I´m praying for him.
This is the right attitude on this. We are all humans and fall short. It seems like he’s struggling with some things personally and I hope he gets the help he needs.
I feel the same.. he doesn’t look or sound like one the asshole cops we usually see.. he looks like he’s heavily depressed and going thru something his coworkers don’t know about
You could tell he has some serious demons that he needed to face. I’m glad nobody was hurt in the accident and glad he had to face the consequences. That being said it was very sad. He was breaking down and being told someone cared for him got him to start talking. Hope he figures things out, I think there is something more than alcohol he was dealing with.
Feels like an addiction which is just starting to spiral and its surfacing. I am one myself (clean for 5 years), it doesnt make anything right but i really feel for the guy.
The number of breaks that these cops get is disgusting, and then they're allowed to resign, so they can go be a bad cop somewhere else. Makes me sick to my stomach.
you can feel for the first guy while acknowledging that a regular citizen having a bad day would never in a million years have been handled with the same kid gloves.
I realize this can be seen as an excuse, but when these officers come across people in public they deal with, they have no idea who that person theyre dealing with is and what theyre like. The first officer and Auggie are clearly friends and he knew Auggie well enough to be able to take the extra leeway and not fear for his safety. I dont agree with how people are treated by officers in everyday situations a lot of the time, but in some circumstances, knowing the shit officers see on an average day, I can understand how the fear can cause the attitude.
They certainly would not have treated me like they did Auggie. I'd been grabbed, roughed up, searched, accused of resisting, thrown on the ground, punched, kicked, tased, pepper sprayed and dragged into a cell. After court I'd be without a license, jailed, fined some outrageous amount and would owe some blood sucking attorney a fortune. The double standards are blatant.

Saying that you can't let someone go because it's recorded doesn't mean you would let them go if it weren't recorded. I'm not a cop, but if I were, tbh I'd probably say the same thing, not because I'd let them go if it weren't recorded, but because I don't want to escalate the situation (especially since they're armed). Maybe you're right maybe he would have, but I don't think you can assume that based on what was said. I mean haven't you ever had to deal with someone who's argumentative or volatile and lied to them a little to try and direct their feelings away from you?

Huh? Only the second one. The first one he seemed pretty legitimately intent on not letting someone that drunk drive when he'd *already* crashed and the last one they didn't even seem to know he was also law enforcement so no.
What's funny about Augie is that for drunk driving, he probably would have been suspended for a few days without pay. That's what happens to most cops when their fellow cops have no other option but to arrest them because it gets caught on bodycam.
It's pretty interesting in the second video how scared the officer that pulled the two police officers over seemed. He obviously knows firsthand how easily things can escalate with huge egos that are carrying weapons.
Exactly, but still crazy how both people were drunk with guns and nobody got shot, the officer didn't "fear for his life", and they never even took the weapon away from the passenger. Let that be a black man and his wife who aren't even drunk and see how fast it escalates to a lethal situation.
@OhShanna Exactly! If those were regular citizens, especially black or brown, this would have escalated really quickly, and someone probably would have wound up dead.

The officer that arrested me even checked up on me after i was out of jail while doing my court appointed classes. Real stand up guy. Helped me get my shit together.
Just like anyone, cops can have a bad day, or just be an unpleasant person. However, I found that the police are much more likely to work with you if you show them respect and try not to give them a hard time. I was pulled over when I was 17 doing 83 in a 45 wearing no seatbelt (dumb teenage stuff). The police officer pulled me over, asked me why I thought he pulled me over and I told him I was speeding. He said how fast. I said 83. He told me since I was the first person to tell him the truth that day he was going to let me off with a warning, but still gave me a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt. Since that day I have always worn my seatbelt and do not speed. I still remember that incident like it was yesterday, and I have not been pulled over since. That was 30 years ago. When you are pulled over you did something wrong or the cop just wants you to warn you of something (like a broken taillight). @@LeQuitoFacts, I live in Loveland and it's a very highly populated area. There is a bike trail right through the town where all the bars and restaurants are at. Especially if I was piss drunk and arguing after operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Cops have to stay together
Probably because you are shit? Ever consider that? Nah everyone is a problem but you. That makes more sense
The special treatment that they are affording these scumbags is depressing.
Isn't it amazing how patient and understanding cops are when they're dealing with other cops? You just know if it wasn't for the camera, they would be covering up for him. The rest of us? We'd get thrown in a cell and the full force of the law would be thrown at us.
Cops are not monolithic.
17:55 was not expecting that tough guy to hop out in a kilt😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hahahahahaha that had me dying!
The icing on the cake for me lol
It really sickening to see how much these cops get treated with kid gloves. "We'll park the car, we won't tow it" "You won't spend the night in jail, we'll get you home tonight" yuck
"i'm not gonna charge for you the gun, I won't do that to you" -- and "i can't let you go, this is being recorded". that cop was super uncomfortable having to arrest one of his tribe
Because cops who arrest cops are fucked over by both the public and other cops maybe?

Amanda Caton was found not guilty of OVI a couple of years later. As a side note, her husband was fired from the same police department approximately 20 years ago for an assault causing a death but then re-instated. A couple of solid public servants.
Almost as vile as the Tangerine Turd, former president and instigator of a riot that resulted in multiple deaths.
Couple of model police officers…
That’s crazy she was obviously drunk.
Of course. They know to deny all tests because then it is damn near impossible to convict. They're going to arrest you if they want to arrest you and those tests only make it easier on them.
Was it the same OVI?
Might have been a new one. She was pretty shit-faced here.
I just looked up the case of Amanda Caton. Somehow she was found NOT GUILTY of her charges.. Also she wasn't charged for carrying a gun while drunk neither was her husband. This reeks of injustice to me.
Thats what happens when a popular person is trailed by random people from their city and not professionals.

Every time I watch one of these videos, and every time you put the character profile up at the beginning of each case, I keep thinking I’ve switched my PlayStation on. That beep gets me every single damn time.
Watching this video actually shows the scary demeanor of a lot of cops. The level of aggression is scary. The corruption is also crazy.
His wife is involved in internal affairs😮 who knows how deep that corruption goes

"I'm an officer too" should always be followed by the investigating officer saying "That means you should be driving sober and setting an example of what to do on the road, and you already know the procedure to find out if that's what is going on."

Admit to it, be polite, and not only may you walk away with no issues you may actually learn a lesson that can change your life. So many people knee-jerk react like, "I didn't do anything!" Cops are well-trained liars (& they need to be since they're lied TO all day every day by people avoiding extortion or the likes). Many authentically believe their own DWI Propaganda. Although in this case, Ol Auggie probably can't drive very well sober so it's a wrap when he's all 7-30'd like that.
I’m pretty sure that he was just telling him that to keep him calm until he got backup, because Auggie’s a big dude.
He wasn't. The moment August made the intention to open the car door, he could get arrested. I'm pretty sure they were not alone in that police station.
@@Lowtheomy friend they were at a station. They weren’t the only two in the building. Just the only two in that small area. It’s one guy vs a bunch of OTHER COPS. And on top of that, letting him drive home in that state would endanger everyone else on the road, and potentially others not even on the road. On the sidewalks. Drunk drivers have driven into HOUSES before. You’re gonna try to justify this cop almost letting another cop drive because he was a big guy? That’s fucking stupid.
