You could say that about A LOT of criminals! But personality disorders, especially on the narcissistic spectrum, can’t learn lessons, mature, or do that.
I do that. I have a 1971 SeaGrave pumper restoration 😊 I have the big Federal "Q" on cab Nose. I have electronic Sirens on the engine too 😊 plus a BIG bell, Air horns. I put a master SHUT off on the dash for a big Federal "Q" siren, so no one riding hits the floor switch by accident 😊 I take her to are local junk yard field of Dreams car shows, have had Santa Ride on top to his hut for kids. Have been invited by a Fire public information officer to events that she puts on, for kids to get in their seats. My whole point is. I WOULD NEVER drive my Fire Engine with RED lights ON just driving to an outing. I am just another TRUCK on the road. Will say for SANTA me and wife put a TON of Christmas lights all around her, with big candy cane lights, RAN it of my generator. It was a bright sight. But this is the big ONE. No emergency 🚨 on when normal driving to these functions. My thing with having the old girl is. KIDS getting in the drivers seat, parents taking pictures of their kids. That's my reason for having Fire Engine 🚒. No way I would run around CODE RED just driving her. She is FUN enough with that screaming Detroit Diesel 8V-71 and 5 gears shifting by RPMs.

Believe me you aren’t wasting their time. It’s better to be embarrassed than to be potentially in a lot of danger. There’s a lot more people with much worst intentions than some of these people.
Although I don't condone that behavior, I can understand why they often do it, most of these dudes all dreamed of becoming police officers since childhood, they wanted to be like their heroes; but for one or several reasons they failed the test and now they don't know what else to do with their lives because they were so focused on that goal. I was one of those, I wanted to be a Police Officer so badly, but a heart condition didn't allow me to pass the physical tests and never got better until when I was already too "old" to apply. I’m an RN, CANP and was working late one night when a woman identifying herself as an ER nurse said she was floated up to our unit to “help out”. I had worked there for 4 years and had never seen her before. I stayed close to her and watched as she talked to patients and identified herself as a nurse. She seemed to get off on just talking to patients but didn’t offer to do any work. I called ER and asked about her suspicions nature. They said she didn’t come from there and they didn’t know her. I then notified the supervisor who came to the unit. By that time she had asked for the keys to the narcotics cabinet which I refused to hand over. When the supervisor escorted her off the unit I found out later she had been to other area hospitals posing as a nurse. Always talking to patients, then asking for the narcotics keys. She was arrested and charged with multiple offenses. I simply cannot understand why people do that. It’s hard work being a nurse so I’d think it would be even harder work pretending to be one. I don’t think any nurses gave her the narcotics keys since only 2 nurses per shift carry the keys. But she seemed determined to get into the narcotics vault.
Our hospital had a man that would show up in scrubs and tell patients he was a masseuse and offer patients in our orthopedic unit foot massages. Hospital found out because people were returning surveys saying how good their foot massage was.
In the UK we are getting more and more incidents of fake nurses. ID theft, then they register with an agency, all it takes is someone to be less than careful checking ID and you've got an unqualified criminal running a nightshift on a ward. It's a serious problem
I feel like impersonation of an officer should have a minimum sentence of a year of prison. That is not something to be taken lightly enough to just let it go with probation.
Seems like it should depend, though. If they're just using it to pass through traffic it's not so bad. Speeding through red lights is extremely reckless.
If you've gone to the lengths of wearing clothes and a badge, carrying LEO gear, and installing lights on your vehicle to create the impression of being a legitimate police officer, that should require a minimum of 3 - 5 years in the state penitentiary. Not a short term in the local county jail. Not probation. They need multiple years in state prison. These guys are an absolute threat to society and overall public safety, especially when you consider how easy it would be for them to victimize someone who genuinely believes they're interacting with a real police officer. But the scariest thing with these guys is that they believe their own BS. On a lighter note: "And to think he was only one day away from fake retirement." That had me rollin'! 😂😂😂
I think that needs to depend on the exact circumstances, the history of the individual, whether there is any evidence that they actually victimized anyone. Which is what court is for. Some kid who just wanted to feel cool in front of people doesn't need years in a federal penitentiary, mandatory sentences are rarely a good idea. If they are actually pulling people over that's different.
Gee, I'm always wondering if since many convicts hate corrupt police that get thrown in with them and sometimes even murder them, how are those same convicts going to treat a "fake corrupt LEO" sharing their space, especially on that is a convicted pedophile?
@@dchambers986no, impersonation is a problem. The public needs absolute faith that the officer who they're talking to is legitimate. ANY uncertainty erodes that trust and endangers police, and needs a harsh deterrent to prevent it. Yes, actual impersonator cases are fairly low, and while a problem, the police have much better reforms they should focus on. But once the entitled Karen's and Kevin's of the world realize they can fake being police - and get away with a slap on the wris - hate crime will go up and public trust down.

I was a bail enforcement again for 20 years but am retired now. These guys piss me off. I never entered a jurisdiction without informing the police. Whether it was required or not. I also did not dress to look like a cop in any way. I wore a level 3A vest that read Bail Enforcement. We also had badges, as my state required them. We worked WITH LEOs, not around them. We developed excellent relationships with many officers and agencies. I travel the country and even to other countries (namely Canada and the DR) to find our skips. If an agency did not want to work in their jurisdiction, we would give them the information and let them apprehend the skip. We got paid either way and gained respect for it.
The officer was saying he had to deal with another person/call. It could have been an issue of prioritizing a more meaningful issue than just the insurance at that time.
The worst part is that these people use that to kidnap and assault women pretending to arrest them or force them into sex with intimidation they need to be investigated further.
He is also a fake soldier, he has claimed to be a Major in Army Special Forces, and there are a lot of photos of that POS in an Army officers uniform, claiming to be a combat veteran. NONE of it is true, the dirt bag never served a day.

On a lighter note:
"And to think he was only one day away from fake retirement."
That had me rollin'! 😂😂😂
You're over reacting. Save the 3-5 years for the LEO's that are sworn to uphold the law and are given the public trust and betray it.
And tell everybody in the prison that they are FAKE COPS! Boy, that'll ensure a warm welcome!

We developed excellent relationships with many officers and agencies. I travel the country and even to other countries (namely Canada and the DR) to find our skips. If an agency did not want to work in their jurisdiction, we would give them the information and let them apprehend the skip. We got paid either way and gained respect for it.
