I have a steering angle sensor fault on a 2000 z3 and have tried a few scanners that will not allow me to attempt a reset, still looking for an under 200.00 scanner that will work with BMW for most DIY issues. I appreciate your review.
Thank you for your review,. I bought one of these to do a battery registration.Have you contacted the manufacturer to let them know of your findings to see if they could address remedies via software updates? Thank you
no problem! hope it worked out well for you. yeah they should be aware, they watched the video. I'm assuming as far as the steering angle calibration getting messed up was because my car has ARS system which is kinda rare, and they didn't account for it in the software. but probably would work on more common systems without ARS
Thanks for the great in depth video on the scanner. I recently bought a very similar (exact same screen as this) Autophix 7910 & used it to register a new battery on my 1 Series. May I ask is it normal for these BMW's to keep the AGM battery around 80% charge? I drove my car with scanner connected & it showed the charge started charging at over 14v, but then dropped down to 12.7v when mainly accelerating, & only went back up over 14v when lifting off gas & braking. My AGM battery doesn't seem to show anymore than 12.4v, once charged on vehicle with charger from posts under hood.
hey no problem! glad you were able to register your battery. yeah that's normal, it's called efficient dynamics. it will charge the battery to about 80% after that it mostly will charge the battery during deceleration, to save gas. same principle as regenerative braking on hybrid/electric vehicles but at a much smaller scale. That's pretty normal too see a lower voltage even after charging because the car is awake and all the modules are consuming some power, if you close the doors manually close the hood latches with a pick and lock the car, you will probably see the voltage increase some once it goes to sleep. really a battery only needs to be at about 12.5v when fully charged, the rest is mostly just a surface charge
hey, no problem. That's why I keep these reviews brutally honest, want people to be aware of any problems I find. great for checking and erasing faults in all the modules but the special functions needs some work. it's crazy how the service function for the steering angle calibration would not work and set it to some crazy default. but with ista at work, it had the same exact instructions but worked correctly. maybe they didn't take into account certain options like the bmw's with the ars system which is kind of a rare option. who knows

Not sure, I did have a lot of problems, tested out a better one that I liked much better that does everything on bmw mini and rr
Can it register a new battery on an E60 BMW cheers

supposed to but havn't tried it. I recently tested a bmw scanner way better than this one on the channel
Hello, do you know if this Ancel Direct Store on Aliexpress is legit? Anyone tried to order?
It’s probably fine, I have always got what I ordered on aliexpress just takes forever
Thank you for the honest shakedown cruise, I won't be purchasing this scanner,
