      My dearest Beth
I love watching you with everything u do
Especially when u saw videos shopping in France 🇫🇷.
U remind me a little girl being excited 😊 🤗 lololol.
Well I I'm in usa state of R.I and believe me I have found those
      Orange note books,
      And the metal tins
In a family dollar store. NOT a regular dollar store.
      The chocolate 🍫 😋
      I found in a market called Aldi's.
I also found some milk chocolate from
Holland 🇳🇱 and it's out of this world
      And is not one pc.
It's little squares packed as one bar.
I just wanted to share this with you
We love you have a safe trip home.

U can also put some water on the menthol tissue a little. And put them in the fridge and put on your for head if you have some headache. And great to bring if you get a bit uneasy in a car. Just smell it and you will feel better. The tip on the books i love. Sardines we also have in the Netherland . So sad the trip is over. Have a save travel back home.

Actually Côte d Or is a Belgian brand and Ricola a Swiss one! I love both and always have a box of Ricola on the table which lasts for a day or two lol. Not cheap though. It must be heartbreaking to leave your charming French cottage and go back to American habits after having spent a summer à la française, ie much relaxed. Do your girls speak French fluently?
Bonne reprise in LA and am looking forward to view your future videos. Thanks for your insight of a very elegant way of life. you have a great personality. Cheers Viviane from Switzerland.

Loved this video. My husband is German and we used to go to Germany to visit his family lots when the children were young. I bought the same sort of things you do to bring back!! I have a jacket in my wardrobe that has been there since 1986!! I was in my 30s then and now I am in my 70s. The jacket doesn't fit anymore but I can't part with it. I gives me happiness when I look at it. I think of the people we visited when I was wearing it and the palaces we looked over when I had it on, etc. One time we went to Holland and I bought one of the little pans to make their mini pancakes. My kitchen is full of cooking pans etc. that my mother-in-law gave to me over the years. I am so sentimental and love all my German things.

So glad you made it home safely, though I’ll miss the fun videos like everyone else! But you always have something different and fun for us whether you’re in France or at home and I can’t wait to see what you have in store.
I love your souvenir ideas - they’re exactly the sorts of things I tend to buy as well. For souvenirs for myself, I also like to find small pieces of art or prints to frame when I get home. They’re a constant reminder of good times! I also used to look for needlework work kits - crewel or embroidery or cross stitch - of sites as they’re always a fun way to remember sites, too - especially good for historic homes or buildings (like the old mill or the salt ponds you visited). They’re hard to find now so that ended that! LOL
Already checked out the things in your Amazon store - a couple of things seem like they need to be mine! LOL

Beth, your channel is inspirational to me thank you. I'm planning Le Grande Tour, perhaps not a tour but a jaunt to Paris, 2 weeks, then down to Roman to visit with American friends for an additional 2 weeks. Any tips for the Paris portion especially renting Apts, everyday eating in small cafes (rules of etiquette, again hours of operation) & general tips to help me ease our 50th Anniversary experience? Merci!

    • @EntertainingWithBeth
      @EntertainingWithBeth  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Oh what fun! For Paris I would use AirBnB so many great spots there to rent! Look for something in a nice local neighborhood where you can walk to restaurants and cafes, you'll feel more like a local! such as the 14th, 15th, or 16th these are the favorite arrondissements of my husband since it's away from the tourist traffic. As far as restaurants/cafes go to the local spots, stay away from any place offering menus in English ha! Scope out the place you want to eat a nice dinner or lunch in the day before then make a reservation. Restaurants can fill out quickly and it's always better to book a table in advance. Download a good French/English app if you need to type in a phrase to translate quickly or to show someone something you need to say ha! And the GetYourGuide app is great too for booking private tours or fun local experiences! Hope you have an awesome time! Let me know how it goes!

Your video made me smile! When we returned to the US from our holiday home in Normandie, we also brought home the menthol tissues!! They really are amazing, good quality and smell so good. We also brought home the cookie tins and of course the various chocolate bars. We also placed an order at our Boulangerie in our village of our favorite French bakery items to bring home, we picked them up on our way to the airport. It was also the first time I went to Octlberfest!! Talk about fun! Did you know that the beer 🍺 they serve there is about 10 times stronger than what you can buy at a store?! I love the éclair pad. That’s a smart idea. If you’ve used it does it bake as well as using parchment. So a review please. The states sunscreen is the worse. I buy mine when in Europe too. Italy has a brilliant brand. Expensive but good. Yes yes yes to the menthol tissue.

Good advice! I'm French living in the US. when coming back from home here, i also bring these Kleenex :D ... tons of it, better packaging and higher quality than the ones found here. Also bringing back coffee (darker roast without burnt smell like we can find here), sea salt flakes (hard to find outside of Williams Sonoma here), cookies and deodorants (we love sprays and the ones sold in Europe are cheaper and more concentrated so last longer).

    • @jean-michelgaiffe3834

    • @Alwaeify
      @Alwaeify 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I’m so glad I found your channel! Lol! My husband is Parisien and we visit france regularly. In winter its Paris and in summer Theoule-sur-Mer!
I love grocery shopping there. Its just fun to shop, come back to the apartment and cook.
I nearly fell over when you mentioned the magazines-I have amassed a collection over the years and the recipes are great!
Like you, I have baking pans and copper pots from France as well!
One of the best things I did was take a croissant class. Now I male them regularly when I have time (that three-day process).
Anyway, I was looking for a nee buche de noel recipe and found your channel! Now I m bingeing!

Love this video. I just came back from Ile D’Oleron and Bretagne and also bought a lot of cookie tins as a souvenir, even got the same ones as you.
Also bought sunscreen products, different brand though, I love the monoi scent, that is what holiday smells like too me.
Other souvenirs I brought back are shower gels from ‘so bio’ and ‘le petit olivier’ and deodorants from l’arbe vert and La provençale, both have natural ingredients and smell amazing.
For the rest I brought back food souvenirs: All the vinaigrette flavors from Puget, galette charentaise and madeleines from maison Colibri, the chocolate one with raspberry filling so delicious!
I’m Belgian and Côte D’or is one of our best brands, so I understand you want to take that home with you.
