True photography. It is subjective but it's my two cents to describe this camera. The flip out screen some may find it's a gimmick but I find it, a challenge. I mean it is intended the design and feels like using a camera in the past. The film looks that this camera produced is great. I don't owned this, if I have the budget, I would buy this no doubt.

I just picked up this lens to try and see how it works with the zone method. I even tried the auto focus and it worked better than expected. There’s a lot of firmware updates so I would check which firmware it has first.

I used to own this lens but traded it out for the 16f2.8 last year for all the benefits of being a new design, but I still wish they would update the 18f2. It has been over a decade. C'mon Fujifilm, I'd buy it day 1.

I just got the 16f2.8 and it’s making me consider selling the 18f2. Do you miss this lens? Is there a reason to own both? Is there a scenario where the 18 would come through where the 16f2.8 would fall short? TIA for any thoughts shared.

    • @-grey
      @-grey 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@darrylbrian nope. After getting the 16f2.8 the 18f2 is basically junk to me. 😂
I thought I'd miss the one stop of light, but I don't. By the time that it matters it's so extreme that it's going to be a grainy shot anyway. Got a nice used copy for really cheap, it was not an easy lens to get a hold of. Seems to be out of stock for the new version everywhere and the older version isn't discounted much still. The lack of aperture ring is fine with the x-e3 but with the x-e4 with one less dial I'd think it's necessary. This lens is glued to my camera and with me everyday. The only thing I don't love is the odd flaring from bright lights just outside frame even with the hood.
