I have it on the switch and I’ve noticed that the graphics when you play handheld dip quite low during battles sometimes. Also the other thing missing in the game is the Hogwarts Express! And Ghosts & other NPCs have been cut as well. Still with these cuts it’s still a very good game!
Yeh theres a lot of cuts to just get the thing working on the system, but good on them for making those tough decisions and getting it on this platform in the first place! So many more people get to play now!
Since the switch is my only system i’m going to get it. Can’t compare so can’t complain.

@@SumKindofGamingI would say it’s more than ok, I don’t have a PS5 or Xbox and I don’t want any of them as a Switcher and Nintendo fan, in my opinion Hogwarts Legacy is a very good port and developers should be applauded for getting this to run on Switch and this game and other 3rd party ports like Doom Eternal, Witcher 3 and Wolfenstein II that the Switch is capable of handling ports of big games although I think those games are more impressive graphically than Hogwarts Legacy on Switch but it comes across as you guys damning this port with faint praise.
I didn't have a choice, I have a Switch Oled, it doesn't look near as pretty as the bigger systems - I am having great fun, exploring, looking up and around. So, yes it has some old school mapping issues, but I am having fun.
As long as you are having fun that is the most important thing!

I have both versions and have completed the game twice - first on the PS5 and then on the Switch after a while. It looks good and polished on the PS5, but the portable format suits me better. My first walkthrough was more like a story rush on the PS5, and the second was all about exploration on the Switch. I have played the Switch version on a big screen from time to time - it is fine. But it is much better on the smaller OLED screen.
the ps4 version is the suprisingly well obtimsied for how old the sytem is now, stable 30 fps almost everywhere
Ive been playing it on switch its amazing. But I haven't played it on a PS5 or anything so I don't have that as an experience had a few frame drops and a few times were I fell through the floor my not enough to keep me from playing.
Ooo falling through the floor is a new one! We feel stuff like that is expected especiqlly on the switch

Played some on my friends Switch. I was pleasantly surprised how well it ran. I have it on PS4 and probably won’t get it on Switch, but it definitely reminded me a lot of The Witcher 3 port. Obvious and understandable graphical downgrades and some pop in etc, but the core gameplay stays in tact and feels good.
And that is the most important thing!

@@Kserijaroit feels good to enjoy simple pleasures in life rather than complain about everything. A 9th generation game being ported to feel like a 7th generation game isn’t the end of the world for me. So in short, it feels great being “delusional” to enjoy fun games, even if they look uglier than other versions. How does it feel being such a curmudgeon?

@@Kserijarowell I’m glad you have lots of money and free time to enjoy your hobbies. Not everyone is so fortunate. It is 2024 indeed. Some people across the world are starving or being blown to bits by bombs. Others simply have full time jobs and like to relax and don’t care if they’re playing on the latest hardware and just want to play fun games.
You and I are arguing on a small TH-cam channel over what? The PS5 version of this game vs. the “portable PS3-esque” version? We’re both losers for engaging here, but as I said enjoy your free time and money. If you have so much feel free to donate some to me to buy a modern console so I can see what you’re talking about! How can poor old me ever see your perspective without firsthand experience?
Have this on the Switch and knew going into it that the graphics weren't going to be great but don't mind once the game is playable. I'm about 7 hours in and really enjoying it :) There have been frame drops and pop ins but they haven't diminished my enjoyment of the game. I do find it annoying though that there's a loading screen everytime you walk in and out of any of the shops in Hogsmeade! It's the only system I can play the game on so happy to make do with what I got
honestly I was excited to play it on the Switch but I'd rather wait 9 or 10 years later and get a jailbroken PS5 to play it on. I bought a jailbroken PS3 in 2019 so I have no problem with being patient. I really want to the full experience with graphics that will blow me away and less loading screens

I recently got this game for switch and I was disappointed by the graphics , although i don't know what i expected for the switch it wasn't that, but other than that I Absolutely love the game with all my heart and am glad i got to play a game i was waiting to play since my childhood.
Thats the right attitude to have! A little dissapointing sure but its still a blast and we're glad you're enjoying it!

Looks like a Ps2 era kingdom hearts game on Switch to me lol with the downscaled graphics....it's plus for those on switch who want to play it but as someone whose played it on both...I suggest not the switch if u want a visually pleasing experience & want to get truly immersed in the world...if u have a PS5 then great cos then u get the exclusive stuff which u don't get on PC n other ports.
I wish that for once Nintendo would make an on par system so the massive downgrades wouldn’t be needed. But the community doesn’t hold them accountable so I guess it is what it is 🤷♂️

Both the N64 and GameCube were more powerful then their PlayStation counterparts and they were destroyed in sales.
Graphics dont matter to me. To be honest, i rather we scale back on graphics for more well polished games. Why im a huge nintendo buff. Glad to hear the game runs good though. Been wanting this but im just a Nintendo man through and through. Cant wait to play it. Well, all i got to say… so tootally too 🖕haha

Its not a 'miracle port' in the sense that it runs insane and hasnt taken many visual downgrades (Like no mans sky for example)

I think people should stop comparing the Switch version of Hogwarts Legacy to the PS5 version, we know it’s downgraded with other compromises but let’s take it for what it is, an impossible port that the developers should be applauded for, I only have a Switch and damn it I will get it on Switch as I have no interest in buying an Xbox or PS5 just to play a prettier version of Hogwarts Legacy, for me the graphics are decent for Switch, they’re not shit in my opinion, I’ve seen worse graphics on Switch from 3rd party ports. Thankfully
We compared them because it makes for an interesting video -probably the same reason you watched it- but you're right. It should be applauded for existing on the hardware
@@SumKindofGaming yes it’s interesting from a comparison point of you but it seems you pretty much trashed the Switch version against the PS5 version, ithe Switch version really isn’t that bad graphically, of course it’s been massively downgraded, that can’t be denied but it looks more like a PS3 game would have done, yes I’ve seen more impressive graphics on Switch but these developers really did try unlike the Mortal Kombat 1 port on Switch which is absolute trash, like I said I owly have a Switch and will stick with it, for me this is a miracle that it’s running on the Switch in the first place and I think the Switch version is selling decently too, I think you guys were too negative on the Switch version, not everyone wants a PS5, I don’t want one and I have my reasons, same with Xbox.

Additional reasons Why the Nintendo Swiitch sells:
1. IT'S PORTABLE AND DOCKABLE.
2. MOST GAMES DO NOT REQURE INTERNET ACCESS.
3. IT'S ALMOST $300 CHEAPER THAN A PS5 OR XSX AND CAN PLAY MOST OF THE SAME GAMES
4. I REPEAT. IT'S PORTABLE AND DOCKABLE!!
Goodness, people don't buy it for the performance.... it's an affordable-ish, fully capable gaming console. I have a PS5 and great internet, and I still have issues. It's not a joke. It's revolutionary. The world has become soooo frigging entitled. The things we have at our finger tips are wildly more than any generation has ever had. The switch is incredible.

Edit: I needed to add this. I think it's absolutely absurd to compare a $650 to $700 console to one that is max $350 and it be fair. Logically, its not going to be as good graphically. It's also significantly smaller. I appreciate the side by side guys very much bc it makes me appreciate the switch althemore. But let's not pretend they're supposed to be even remotely the same.
The switch is a joke. Nostalgia is the only reason Nintendo sells.

It has outsold every console released in almost 25 years, number 3 all time. You don’t have to like it. But you are the overwhelming minority.
Just being playable on the switch is magic. I wish this version would have came out first. It would have felt more like an upgrade playing it on everything else. But, still cool you can play it on the good ol’ switch even if it feels like a massive downgrade. I just picked up because, it is currently on sale. I own the game on everything else, why not get it for the switch as well. Great games deserve to be purchased. 😉👌🙋🏻♂️🫶
