- This is my story about my missed miscarriage at 12 weeks pregnant, plus my D&C procedure and genetic testing results. I hope that this video helps people understand and empathize a bit more to the situation. Miscarriages are SO common, but not commonly enough talked about. Let's participate in the conversation and shed some light together. I know that sharing my story and listening to others has helped me.
This experience brought me the most grief I've ever felt in my life, but it's also brought me closer to family and friends and people who I didn't even know had been struggling. Let's all take a second to understand this part of being human.

Thank you for sharing your story. This just happened to me 3 days ago. This weekend has felt like forever..Tomorrow i go in and see what needs to be done..your story has helped me understand more of what will happen this week..i have never heard of a missed miscarriage until Wednesday and i still cant believe this is happening to my husband and i.
I would have been 12 weeks yesterday, but I miscarried 2 days ago. I had a missed miscarriage, the baby never developed at all, it was just a yolk sack without a fetal pole. Where I live you don’t get your first scan until 12-14 weeks. When the sonographer told me that it was a very very early pregnancy, I told her I know exactly what she’s saying. About 5 hours after that scan I completed the miscarriage. The most difficult part about it is getting so excited for technically 10 weeks, having a growing bump, al of the pregnancy symptoms, gaining weight, only to find out that absolutely nothing came of it at all.
I had a missed miscarriage last week and they did a MVA procedure. Extremely painful and emotional. Thank you for sharing your story. It helps

The same thing happened to me this year. I feel your pain! Mine happened at 8 weeks. I lost my dad to Covid the same week. You are so strong and brave for telling your story. I had all of the same feelings. I had to go to all of my appointments alone. They wouldn’t let my husband be there because of Covid. I am happy your husband was able to be there with you.

This just happened to me as well.. first pregnancy.. found out at the 12 week ultrasound it was a missed miscarriage and was devastated. 2 days ago had the D&C. It's the saddest thing I've ever experienced. Listening to these stories helps me know I'm not alone in this sad sad experience. Thanks for sharing your story❤
I had just turned 11 weeks and found out the baby had stopped living at 8 1/2 weeks. I was devastated to learn that the baby had not been alive for that long and I had no idea. It's been rough trying to get through this.
@@FashionCandie my heart goes out to you I really really feel what you are going through. Tbh before all this I didn't even know missed miscarriages existed really, I just thought they came out like you always hear about... that's why finding out at the ultrasound was so shocking 😢 On one of these videos one of the women talked about trusting her body.. and trusting that her body knew what was right for the outcome and that maybe something was wrong with the pregnancy that we didn't know about so our body took care of it itself❤idk it kinda helped a little to think about it like that. It is hard and I'm sad evey day. Some days are better than others. I find comfort in knowing there are many of us that experienced this and we aren't alone- I didn't know missed miscarriage was so common. Sending you healing/loving vibes. Who helped me stop my miscarriage
This was my 5th pregnancy and we would usually tell people at 9 weeks after the confirmation scan. This time we didn't announce until 15 weeks. I just went in for my anatomy scan at 19 weeks and 5 days. Our baby had no heartbeat and had stopped growing at 14 weeks and 4 days. They inserted a pill vaginally to induce. It took 9 hours to deliver. A 3rd pill had to be inserted to try and get the placenta out. After 2 hours of waiting I had to get a d&c for my retained placenta. Everyone was shocked and telling our kids was hard. We found out baby was a girl and I'm working on a memorial shadow box for her.
I'm so incredibly sorry. Praying for healing for you and your family.
Me also going through this 5th miscarriage with no heartbeat….tests are normal but its so hard without knowing why this recurrent miscarriage happening …😓😓

I didn't get any of that. I have no idea the sex of my baby. I don't even know if they tested the placenta. Racial discrimination in medicine is REAL.
First off thank you for sharing, I came across you channel randomly and I appreciate your honesty as it makes the rest of us going through this feel less alone. I miscarried 3 days ago during my birthday trip with my fiancé, right before our 12w5d appt, which would’ve been that official OB appt with the genetic testing and the gender.. and it has been awful extremely painful both mentally and physically specially when like you, we had planned a gender reveal and were so excited and already buying things. It just shakes your whole world around. I hope you’ve conceived by now and if not I know it’s in the cards for you and the rest of us here. I feel you saying “I just want to be pregnant again” so much.. coming from a medical background I knew the moment I started bleeding what was going on, and it’s harder when you know what’s happening because you know there’s nothing to do and you just have to wait until it’s all over. Hellomoto so sorry you experienced that. I just wanted to say in case pregnant women see this, that surprisingly bleeding doesn't always mean a miscarriage. During my second pregnancy with my son between 9-12 weeks (can't fully remember cause he's 8 years old now) I started bleeding heavily, red blood. I thought I was losing him for sure but it turned out I had a hematoma on my placenta. It bled out and didn't affect the baby. When I delivered the midwife showed me the hematoma on my placenta. Just medically interesting and good to know. Hope you're doing well. 🤍

Hey did your period come back? I have a d&c scheduled for Friday and I’m worried because I see a lot of ppl saying they developed asherman syndrome and wasn’t able to conceive
@@Bee0826 after I had my D&C I luckily had little bleeding and then my period natural came 6 weeks after. And now I’m pregnant again! I used the ovulation strips 2nd month after that period and now 10 weeks along with my rainbow baby. So don’t worry too much and I hope you are okay and recover well and receive your rainbow too xx

So sorry this happened to you, and thank you for sharing it. We were delivered the bad news today. Same thing - the 12th week. Still shocked, slowly waking up to the new reality... As a husband, I'm devastated and heartbroken (not sure what is more painful - losing the baby or imagining what my wife is feeling still carrying the baby), but my wife is on a totally different level of experiencing it...
Thanks for sharing your journey. My husband and I just went through something similar. We did genetic testing and came up high risk for Trisomy 13. We went for an ultrasound and the baby had so many abnormalities. I just had a D&C done at 13 weeks and we are waiting for tissue sample results. I’m having a tough time with it. It was our first pregnancy and it seems everyone else is getting pregnant these days no issues. This absolutely killed the excitement around being pregnant.

I actually just had a second miscarriage at 7w3d and we won’t be able to find out this reason for this one. We’re doing genetic testing on ourselves now just to check everything.

Going through a lot of this right now. This is my 4th miscarriage in a row. I have 6 kids. I understand I am blessed to have children. It does not make the pain of losing babies to miscarriage any different. The loss is still as significant.
12 weeks 2 days ( Thanksgiving day ) and I couldn’t find the heartbeat with my Doppler. Had just found the heartbeat the day before as I did everyday since 8weeks 5 days. I didn’t immediately panic decided I would try again later which has happened a few times before and I’ve always found baby when going back to look later. Checked again about an hour later to try and couldn’t find baby. I knew then. My heart sank. Tried to get in with my doctor Friday but they were closed because of the Thanksgiving holiday. So Saturday I decided to try again to look for heartbeat and found nothing. So we went to the ER. I needed confirmation. Not knowing was as bad as knowing at that point. So I’ve been waiting for this baby to pass and he’s not, so I’m scheduled for surgery in the morning. This is my second missed miscarriage. I’ve had 2 chemical pregnancies and 1 miscarriage around 7 weeks. 5 miscarriages total, 4 of them in the past year and a half. My last missed miscarriage I thought I was 12 weeks. But when I got to my appt and they could t find HB the doctor sent me for a quick scan and baby had passed just shy of 9 weeks.
I don’t understand why this keeps happening to me. I had actually told my kids about this baby and they were so excited. My 4 year old was kissing my tummy every morning and talking to her baby brother. ( we knew he was a boy )

Just had a d and c almost two days ago. I was almost 17 weeks pregnant and found out the baby was measuring 12 weeks with no heartbeat. The worst part is we already knew the gender, had a gender reveal and had a name picked out. It is the worst possible news I could have ever gotten! I had the procedure done 6 days after finding out. I had 3 ultrasounds done before then because I really wanted to make sure there was no heartbeat. I’m so sorry you had to go through this!
I am so sorry you had to go through this. I had a similar horrible experience at 12 weeks. It was such a punch in the gut. I was shocked. I had NO idea baby had passed away around 8 weeks. I was angry at my body for not giving me any signs and letting me live blissfully happy for an entire month. Saddest part of the entire experience for me, was that I heard the heartbeat at 8 weeks. I still don’t understand it.

It did feel cruel to me at the time to still feel like I was pregnant and think everything was fine when it didn’t turn out to be. Knowing I’d heard the heartbeat was also super hard...sending love! 💛🌈
I know this doesn’t help much to hear, but time turned out to be the best thing for me at least.
I had almost the same experience. Everything was perfect at 8 weeks, and at my 13 week appointment they told me the baby passed away around 12 weeks and 5 days. 2 days before the second trimester. They couldn’t schedule me a d&c so i had to stay pregnant for another 2.5 weeks until i finally miscarried at home. I am so sorry for anyone who goes through this because it is devastating.

My story is the same, 7 weeks heartbeat looked fine. 10w6d, looked like a baby, but no heartbeat. D&C yesterday. I feel flat, numb. this would be my 5th pregnancy (one was ectopic), I have 3 children a teen and two preschoolers... I feel like after this I am done. Sad but it was a lot to go through.
I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and will go through a D&C the next couple of days, I found your video and I totally agree with you, miscarriages are so common and people don't talk about it, like its a taboo, but as you said it is important to talk about it and have the family and friends as a support because this is not something easy to go through. @@welp5468 hi! I am so sorry you are going through the same thing! Well in ny experience the d&c was very simple procedure, they give you general anesthesia and in my case lasted no more than 20 minutes. I was in observation for 7 hours and then went home. It didn’t hurt to pee or anything but I did bleed a lot for 3 days (note: its like a very heavy period) and I had a lot of heavy cramping but you can take over the counter meds for that. My bleeding just stopped now after 4 days but my doc said it can last for up to 2 weeks. Best of luck to you! And it will be all over before you know it!

@@Bee0826 yes I did, almost 5 weeks after the d&c, normal period. My doc told me it would take 4 to 6 weeks to get the period again.

i don’t know you but i feel like i do. i searched youtube specifically for miscarriage stories since i just had one.
I watched yours because one was also 12 weeks and i had a d and c.
i was actually 15 weeks pregnant and we saw it died at 12. I didn’t do the routine 12 week appointment. My next midwife appointment was scheduled for 15 weeks and i figured i would just have mine a little later.
i was completely FLOORED when i saw you had also gone to Breckinridge! The exact same place i went when my husband and i were 12 weeks pregnant.
We planned the trip before getting pregnant and vacillated on whether to go- but we had had a difficult year of fighting a lot and we knew we needed this vacation to ski and snowboard.
When we went i didn’t acclimate to the altitude and we ended up leaving. I couldn’t get enough oxygen and even with the oxygen machine at night. i couldn’t acclimate. i couldn’t ski or even play a board game. i was fatigued and hated the feeling of having to work harder to breathe. i was never in any danger- no ER, no doctors were called. We just left.
I have timed my worst day on the trip to the fetus death and it appears to be the same day. i am convinced after everything my midwives told me that it is somehow our fault.
But the truth is, we went right at the sweet spot from 1st to 2nd trimester. i thought the timing was perfect since i would be out of my nauseau and fatigue and not super big yet.
(to add insult to injury- we left 4 days early and the hotel has refused to refund me $2,000 as per their no cancellation policy)
When you said your pathology report hurt so much i was CONVINCED you were gonna say they found nothing wrong (i.e. it’s because you went to Breckenridge) and then you said no- that wasn’t it. This give me hope.
Due to a shitty hospital system my D and C was treated not as an emergency, kept getting pushed and then a doctor cancelled my surgery (without asking me) after i called his office to ask more questions.
I ended up miscarrying the day i was supposed to get the surgery (they were literally going to have me fast all morning and then continue to fast until they could see me which they couldn’t tell me when it would be because they said “we can’t give you an exact time because if their are other emergencies, yours will keep getting pushed. One time a couple was there until 2AM.
WTF i don’t do well without eating. i used to have a restrictive eating disorder and it puts me in a very bad headspace.
The uncertainty of this entire time to be compounded by the hospital system is despicable. (and this is on Long Island!)
I am very proud that i stood up for myself, asked what needed to be asked, made another appointment at planned parenthood for 2 days later in case we went to the hospital and i just couldn’t take the hunger, uncertainty and disrespect.
Yesterday- and i can’t believe it was only yesteray. i started miscarrying, my midwife group told me to go the ER. So we drove 90 min into the city to go to one of the best hospitals.
I was cared for exceedingly well but watching your video reminded me something. I have now been denied the ability to test. My poor 56 mm baby fetus fell into either my toilet, the ER waiting room toilet or the exam room toilet. The exam room doctors even tried to look in the toilet for me.
I miscarried at the hospital- treated with the utmost care. I was in no pain. (i had recently begun menstrual cycle awareness and had learned new was of being with cramp and pain)
In the evening i was offered the D and C and I decided i didn’t want to wait and i didn’t want to end up having my D and C back at
my home hospital. These people were caring (this is a fancy nyc hospital and i have NO IDEA how much it will be- i have insurance but i know it was worth it)
I had also never had surgery or anesthesia!
Thank you for sharing your story. I am starting to really think it wasn’t our fault (me and my husband’s for deciding to go on the trip). I’ve been on reddit and read womens stories but watching yours was really helpful.
i wasn’t going to give that doctor a piece of my mind but now i think i will. I now will never have the opportunity to test- something i considered though my midwives said it was often inconclusive so it’s interesting to hear you got a clear reason- trisomy 18.
To add insult to injury my poor husband lost his sunglasses last night. And the day after our sonogram when we found out it died our door broke and a bad locksmith fixed it poorly.
I relate to your story so much. I especially to relate to when first finding out being really logical and unemotional.
i remember saying to my husband - ok it’s fine, we’ll just get pregnant again. now we have more time to do all the things to the house and be
more ready.
But we are both devastated of course. i’ve already reached out to support groups.

I found out 2weeks ago that I had a missed miscarriage at 11w6d also..my baby girl passed few weeks before that (stopped growing at around 9 weeks)due to trisomy 21. I cried watching your video because I can absolutely understand your pain. I too told my friends and family when I was 8w and never in my wild dreams this could happen to me. @@MissSmurfey no symptoms.. but when I think about it, my morning sickness disappeared overnight and I think that’s when the miscarriage happened.

Last year I was finally able to get pregnant again and had a healthy baby girl.

i am sorry to hear your story i lost mine yesterday the OB doctor said they couldn’t see a heart beat so she had me go to martinez today to confirm and i just found out that the baby didn’t grow after 8 weeks and has no heart beat. i got pregnant after a long time and i couldn’t stop crying since then i am devastated and heart broken.

I’m having a d and c and I found out about the missed miscarriage. I had to have the surgery a week after I found out. And it’s been terrible knowing about the baby still being inside me and me not being able to do anything to help it. I’m having the surgery in two days

I have been battling infertility issues for years. When I finally gave up... a positive pregnancy test. The same week I found out I was pregnant that same week I had a miscarriage. I was only 6 weeks. It's been so depressing.
Your build up is very similar to mine. I found out at 12 1/2 weeks too after two perfect ultrasounds. I found out alone though because of covid and the ultrasound tech was silent. You’re not alone. It’s the worst thing ever. A friend of mine’s sister has the same due date as me. She’s 19 and it was an accident. It doesn’t feel fair. Going through this right now... Im 10 weeks pregnant. 4 days prior I had my first scan only to find out there's no heartbeat, no movement.
Currently waiting for my 2nd scan tomorrow just to make sure, but I'm most likely having a d&c some time this week. This is the most unfair, unholy and worst thing that ever happened to me and my love. There's absolutely nothing good I can draw from this experience. @@evierich3085 A few days after the second scan, I had a miscarriage, caused by medication because it just didn't seem to happen by itself. Also the doctor told me to really think about a d&c because it's much more traumatizing for the body. So I went to miscarry in a hospital. When it was over, I was a bit reliefed because I felt like I could finally start greaving and healing. I'm currently feeling a lot better, though of course I'm still sad... But next month we will try again and hope for a better outcome... wish you all the best. I'm so sorry you have to go through this...
Im deeply sorry for your loss... I also had a miscarriage around 8-10 weeks.. and had my D&C yesterday. My emotions are like waves, I'm ok one moment, the next I'm just so sad.

I had a partial molar pregnancy when I was 16 years old. I was supposed to be going in for the anatomy scan at 20 weeks. There was no heartbeat and the baby stopped growing at 18 weeks. Not even a year later I had cancer (placenta site trophoblast tumor). We did chemotherapy and my hCG just kept increasing. A few months later I ended up having a hysterectomy.... At the age of 18. Years later, we went through IVF a few months ago and we have one embryo, a girl. My best friend is going to be our surrogate in a couple of years. We are doing IVF again and hoping to get more embryos ❤️

I wouldn’t go back to that doctors office. No way it was a molar pregnancy that wasn’t seen at your scan or heck, at the d&c. So the fact that they put you through that hell is bullshit. Im so so sorry.

Im going through a miscarriage too. Today, we found out that our baby didnt have a heartbeat. It stopped growing at 8w.1day.
This entire month was a rollarcoaster though. Here’s why- basically when i found out i was pregnant at 4-5 weeks- i got my hcg drawn 48 hours apart. It rose appropriately but then i got it another draw done requested by me and it didnt rise. Well, basixally it stopped rising completely since 5/7 BUT the baby was growing amazing and its heartbeat got stronger for one whole month even tho my hcg hasnt risen at all! Doctors are stumped and they dont have any answers for me.

Last Monday I also go through the same situation I am 9 weak pregnant but my scanning report shows 6 weak pregnant and than I had heavy pain and bleeding I immediately admitted to hospital ...now I lost my baby

I'm so sorry this happened to you. What a horrible thing for an expectant mother to go through. You taught me about a molar pregnancy through this video, I had never heard of that. I had a missed miscarriage a week ago, baby's heart stopped at 12 weeks, I was 13 1/2 weeks along when I went for my very first appt which had the ultrasound. We were expecting to find out the gender and it went from extremely exciting to an all time low. I totally related to how you must have felt having prepared all the gender reveal stuff etc 😢 so so sorry.
I was wondering, was the possible diagnosis of a molar pregnancy just due to incomplete lab results? Do you know if this would have shown up on ultrasound? Its too late for our baby to have genetic testing so now wonder if I need to ask for blood testing for me because of the small chance mine was a molar pregnancy? My baby was 12 weeks grown, so as you said, that's more rare abs usually means something major was going on that would make it incompatible with life. 😢 thank you for sharing

Yes, the suspicion of a molar pregnancy was only due to the incomplete results at the time. It was confirmed by the genetic testing that it was trisomy 18 rather than a molar pregnancy. I’m unsure if there are any indications on an ultrasound, but my ultrasound at 8 weeks looked totally normal when it wasn’t.
Unless your miscarriage happened very recently and there was still fetal DNA in your bloodstream, I don’t think you can test to find anything out unfortunately. Molar pregnancies are extremely rare, so it’s more likely that the pregnancy ended due to a more common genetic abnormality, but you should definitely speak to your doctor and get their opinion.

@@MissSmurfey I was feeling better symptom wise but I also felt better symptoms wise at the exact same time with my other 5 pregnancies because at this time in a pregnancy- around 12 weeks, the placenta takes over making progesterone and the hormones that were causing symptoms change so naturally many women start to feel better around 12 weeks. I had absolutely zero clue that baby had passed. Not even any bleeding. No cramping. Nothing. My body hadn’t recognized it. So I’d say nothing changed.
Here’s info about the placenta taking over:
“The placenta takes over hormone production by the end of the first trimester (12 weeks of pregnancy). Up until this time, the corpus luteum handles most of the hormone production. Many people's first-trimester symptoms of nausea and fatigue go away once the placenta takes over in the second trimester.”

I had two miscarriage back in 2015. The las one was painfully and sad because I had done the d&c. My baby was about 1 inch in size. I am still sensitive about it. Everytime I remember I cry. I wish I can talk about it and not cry.,

Were you a carrier of trisomy 18 ? or did this genetic issue just randomly happen?...I ask because I recently had a missed miscarriage :/ I was having twins ...I did a genetic screening done before I found out I lost my babies and I tested positive for a genetic issue...all the doctor said was that the babies heart just stopped because of a genetic issue ...but I never knew anything else:/ I never knew I’d they were physically affected by what I carried

Yes, we were genetically tested and we are not carriers for anything. Trisomy 18 is a random genetic mutation, so it’s not inherited.

Im sorry this happened to you and all women. Ive had 2 D&Cs and now my endometrium is very thin. Since then ive had chemical pregnancies. Eventhough i know i had to have the procedures ive convinced the procedure caused my thin linning. Now i dont know what can be done as thin endometrium carries a higher risk of miscarriages.

i lost my baby at 10 weeks and they gave my mistopristol or someshit, now i didnt look it up but correct me if im wrong thats the abortion drug, i never got confirmation that my baby 100% wasn’t living, i had a feeling, anywho they gave me this then told me after it should make you go into labor i though alright, um i still feel like a fuckin idiot for not asking what they gave me but i was dying, passing out, bleeding out as we spoke, d and c happened at about 2 am, i never knew my issues with hemorrhaging would be even worse with the medication they gave me BC THEY NEVER ASKED ABOUT MY BIRTHING HISTORY, horrible to pick your baby out of your diaper, that really really fuckin sucks
