- Today I'm doing a tutorial on how to use transfer paper or graphite paper. You can transfer an image, sketch, coloring page or digital stamp from one piece of paper to another. Transferring like this is easy and affordable plus a good way to save your special coloring paper:)

Hope that this is helpful to those of you wanting to know more about transfer paper:)
Can we erase tht transferred image with eraser.
This video starts at 4:40 for me all ya have to do is:
Step 1- put the page u wanna draw the picture on at the bottom.
Step 2- take the carbon sheet and put it on top of the paper.
Step 3 - put the picture on top of it all (u could secure it with tape if u want)
I hope this help for those that didn't want to wait long.

I use it every time I mess up on a project or see a spot I can improve! :) practice makes perfect and I’m far from a good artist
@@WindyIris Yep! It's awesome for people who do graphite, watercolor, colored pencil, and even other supplies like gouache. This is because you can take a while for you to do your sketch (lot's of erasing, trial and error). So, this is an alternative for people who don't want their pencil markings keeping pigment (or others) in the dented areas of erased pencil. Also, if you were not careful and didn't draw light enough or used a B pencil, that's what transferring is for!

Question for you. I’m looking at a lighting project and going to try your tracing/transfer idea in the video. Will this work if I try tracing on to plastic pvc, or will I be wasting my time and money?
Korpa 12 sorry for the late answer. Transfer paper is coated with graphite, the same substance that standard pencil lead is made of. My theory would be that this type of transfer paper will work on most things that you could draw with a pencil on. Keeping in mind that the graphite is transferred simply by pressure and does not have the same level of friction that dragging a pencil across does.
TLDR: lightly drag a pencil across an inconspicuous area of the surface you want to test and see if it marks. If it does, it should work.
Have you ever had the graphite bleed through acrylic paint ?

In response to your presentation, I tried scanning the artwork and editing the resulting image to make the lines as fine as I could. My printer can handle up to 216 gsm and I was able to print my artwork onto a sheet of yellow A4 paper of that weight! Hooray! However, the photo picked up all the variations in line density. With manual tracing, I would’ve been able to compensate for this.
Also, the original is on lined writing paper (a doodle). The scanning app automatically removed the lines. Good! A disadvantage with the above method is that printers can often put extraneous marks on the printout.

Yes I think you can erase any mistakes.
Can you use this method on canvas?
Yes - the lines may not transfer perfectly as the canvas is more textures than the paper but yes you can certainly use this method on a canvas:)
Is there a way to prep canvas to make most of the texture go away? I've never used canvas before but I'm attempting to get my pencil and paper drawings onto canvas to paint.

after using this transfer paper suddenly my white original paper looks quite black with some dirt all over my paper, can u suggest how to avoid this to happen again when im transferring my drawing?

Can the transferred line be erased using a kneaded eraser? Also do they smudge when you apply watercolor?
Yes you can erase the lines:)

I am super frustrated with the transfer paper . Wax free transfer paper. I feel like what ever I do can't get it transfer to my canvas it's bigger and more room that paper does .
What is trace paper name

Or u could take a pencil and draw over the back using the pencil and put it on the white paper and trace the drawing
How waterproof is the graphite from the traced image?

A light box is not expensive you can get a nice on amazon for $ 20.00
