Excellent product, very happy with my purchase. I'd been using cheaper transfer paper just to test things out as I'm new to the whole heat transfer printing industry, and they were truly awful. Having since used this product I can honestly say the result are absolutely brilliant compared to the previous product I had been using. A 10/10 for me, follow this guide and you can't go wrong, you soon remember everything and it becomes natural for you to do when starting and finishing the entire process.
I noticed this video was posted 10 years ago! I recently decided to do this t shirt transfer and was not being successful then decided to check out you tube. I found this video and voila! Success! I followed it exactly as I noticed there were a couple of things I was doing wrong! THANK YOU!!!!!😆
Hi blocc killa, the transfer paper is fully compatible with any printer that uses Inkjet printing system including HP Deskjet. I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment.
Hi, thanks for the video I was given some of these T-shirt transfer papers, with no instructions. With your help, I just printed one of my artworks over a T-shirt. It worked. 11 years later...
The most common issues we come across are to do with the iron not hot enough and / or not applied for the correct amount of time. Take extra care in checking the temperature, apply pressure during the ironing stage and iron for long enough. I hope this helps!
Hi, If the iron was not hot enough and you have't ironed for long enough, the image might break as it isn't embedded in the fabric enough. The last stage uses silicon paper or printer paper (non coated) to push the image into the fabric further. Do not skip this stage. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for the helpful video. I recieved my transfer paper today and didn't know what to do until I came here. Thanks again and im ready to start printing
Very lovely video I understood everything...when I ask for a tutorial this is what I mean. Tell me everything thank u so much u helped a lot and I will like this video and subscribe 💕

What about printing on a different color of shirt? For example, the color of the tee is orange. Do I still have to cut what I'm transferring? If not, will it leave white edges?
Read this first!!!! Don't use a chopping board! Unless new greese, fat or what ever is on a chopping prior to use will transfer to your fabric. It will stain the back of the shirt.
Hi, That's right, you'll need to print in 'mirror' or 'reverse' mode. One of the two should be an available setting within your printer's properties. If printing only an image, this change in settings is NOT needed, only required for printing text. Thanks for your comment!
Hiya ppd so basically what is the difference between the different back logos for example on one pack u have red lines and another u have it just saying PPD in red ??
Thanks for the video, I just did my project and came out just beautiful and easy. It is very helpfull the logo in on side, then we know which is the correct side.
If I want to put writing on a black shirt would I have to completely cut around the letters, or would it show shades of white if I don't cut around the letters ?
Hi, I asked basically the same question.. do I need to cut out all the letters for white letters on a black shirt? Or will only the printed letters transfer so no need to cut them out? Thanks for any assistance!
Hi, first and foremost durability will depend on the quality of the transfer, mainly paying attention to the correct time and pressure. To improve the durability after the transfer, wash the fabric only after turning it inside out so the transfer does not rub against the machine or other fabrics. You can also use the reusable silicon sheet again to make the transfer look vivid. Thanks for the comment.
Hi, the key for durable transfer is 1. enough heat (switch on your iron and allow to heat up to full temperature for 4 minutes) 2. strong pressure (iron on a solid table) 3. suitable iron duration (rough time indication should be A4 - 3 minutes, A5 90 seconds, A6 - 45 seconds). I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment.
Hi @mayank singla fabrics can be Cotton, Viscose, Polyester, Silk etc. As long as they do not melt under a hot Iron, the process will work. Thank you for the comment.
It’s not working for me. I purchased the A3 version and I followed every instructions. I don’t know what to do as I did everything you said. Is the product bad?
Hey' if i were to transfer a white text on a black fabric, do i have to trim the letter out of the paper or should I make it black background and white text on it so it works? I kinda feel like designing some stuff and I just thought about it
Hi, I tried ironing my design over with plain paper like you suggest and the paper got stuck to the image. Do you know why this happened and whether I can fix it?
Hi, the plain paper must be pilled hot. If you let it cool down it might adhere. Silicon paper can be pilled hot or cold, which is why it's the better option. Try warming the plain paper, it should lift easily. Thanks for the comment.
Hi thanks for the tutorial it's pretty instructive! Tho I have a question the image you used looks pretty simple if I have a much more complex picture would it still work?
Hello! Thanks a lot for the amazingly nice tutorial! I've got following question: how long can you keep an already printed paper without ironing? Is there any clear advantage to iron rapidly after having printed the paper in the printer? Thanks!!! Lio
Hi, There is no advantage of transferring immediately after printing. You can keep the transfer paper printed almost indefinitely as long as it is kept dry and flat. Thanks for the comment.
Hi, thanks to this video I decided to buy ppd transfer paper and received it today and made some test... printed a 3" x 3" image in high quality setting in epson L300 and pressed it for 40 seconds with iron on a flat surface. The result is great, I get a matt finish when peeling cold, even when the instructions said that peeling the paper when it's cold, could leave a shinny finish, it's ok for me. However when using the silicon paper to fix the image for about 6 to 10 seconds, it leaves the images glossy and some of the ink adhere to it. Am I doing something wrong in the fixing process?
Hi, if the silicon sheet is stuck, it might be too cold. Try using it for longer and ensure you don't leave it in one space for too long. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for your informative video!!! I have a question: if we could use this t-shirt transfer paper to transfer image on wood, and which one, on your opinion, is better for this task, transfer paper for light background or for dark background?
can you recommend a paper that will print on dark colors but not have a white outline. What I'm trying to do is very small and i won't be able to cut it all out perfectly with a razor blade. Hoping you might be able to help me.
Hi, If you follow our instructions (mainly turning the t-shirt outside in when washing), you can expect between 15 to 20 washes. Thanks for the comment!
@@letile6438 Yes. As long as the fabric can be ironed at max temperature, the process will work. Canvas/tote bags are very popular with transfer papers. Thanks for the comment!
@@romanvargas1244 Hi, if the image came off the fabric after the first wash, not enough heat or pressure was applied during the transfer paper. im wondering if this the transfer image comes off glossy right after ironing? pr Does the silicone paper do that to the image?. Asking because I want to do embroidery over a color pictures but glossy finished wont help if thats the case. thanks!!!
Hi, You can peel the image when HOT or COLD When Peeling HOT - immediately after finishing the Ironing, peel the paper in a quick smooth action. The image will now be on the fabric and will be matt in finish When Peeling COLD - after finishing the ironing, allow the paper to cool to room temperature. Once cold, peel the paper (there is no time limit on doing this, you can wait as long as you like). Cold peel achieves a Glossy Finish on the shirt. I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment!
Is it That white from printing paper what you leave it while cuting, is it visible on dark shirts???? If I wanna print a letters on dark are they have to be cut whit out whites...
I want to print smaller graphics on many tshirts. Is it recommended, after printing duplicates of the deaign on one sheet, to cut out smaller pieces of the paper before pressing? (I'm trying to save paper and money)
So glad you're still active and replying! I have a question... hope you can help. My prints (on white fabric) seem to appear faded - any suggestions on how to correct this? I'm printing at highest quality, so a little confused why the colours aren't as bold as the dinosaur in this video.
Hi, I assume you are using Inkjet inks, not sub? If so, drop the quality to low quality. Transfer paper isn't photo paper, it cannot hold the same levels of inks as photo paper does. If you're using highest quality you are overwhelming the carrier and the design will look washed. Thanks for the comment!
@@photopaperdirect Ah, okay. Thanks for explaining! I will try a low quality printing setting and see if that works. Is there anything else that it could be? Does the age of the paper matter? I.e. how long I've had the pack
@@GCfan1990 The quality is definitely an issue. Try low or medium, but never high or best. The age won't matter provided the pack was sealed and doesn't contain moisture. If you're still not happy with the results after changing the printing quality, reach out to us with a photo so we can have a look at the printed article. You can contact us with a photo from the channel from which you brought the PPD transfer paper from.
Hey For dark fabrics, is there any special considerations to be noted? Is it a hard and fast rule to use 1200W iron? What about using 500W or 700W and keeping it pressured for a longer duration. Thanks.
Hi, The process will not work with an iron lower than 1400w, even if you lron for longer. If you have areas of the transfer that have not adhered well this is because either you did not give enough heat in this area or not enough pressure was applied. Make sure you are working on a solid surface and not on an ironing board. Thanks for the comment.
This is helpful and will use for future projects, BUT, I have an image on a white t-shirt that I want to duplicate exactly and transfer to other t-shirts. The image is 14 1/2 in. W x 21 in. H. There is no break in the image allowing me to use 2 - 11 x 17 transfer papers, so it looks like I'll need to get this professionally done. Also, my printer won't print 11 x 17. Like I said, I can use your paper for other possible projects. Thank you
Really curious, if you'd like to put a white image on to a shirt would you still need to print on the paper with the white ink, or would it work without printing a graphic?
Hi, You would need white ink, indeed. Problem is that most printers haven't white ink, so double check yours. If you haven't white ink, you won't be able to transfer any white colour on to the paper. You can try at a professional printing house (where printers have up to 9 or even 12 colours including white) or change the white colour to something else. Thanks for the comment.
Awesome video! I made an awesome shirt my first time but every time after that, my shirt came out crappy. It is def me not applying enough pressure. I was just ironing it like I iron my slacks.
So like i did exactly what you instructed and turns out after i iron the transfer imagine onto my shirt it intends to rip when i pulled it apart from the shirt. like stretch it. What should i do?
I love ur video. But I have a question .. I'm making a t-shirt blanket. Im using light weight pellon as a backing..should I transfer the picture on the t-shirt first. Or should I iron the pellon on the back first.
If you would use a tan or natrual color, will the white from the transfer be on the tan ? or will no white show up at all? I have no white in my image but im using tan bags.
Hi Tim, light transfer paper has a clear/transparent background, while dark transfer paper has a white background. If you're transferring onto tan coloured bags, when using the light transfer, any unprinted areas will appear semi-clear. Semi meaning that you'll see the transfer paper film from close-by. If you're using the dark transfer paper, any unprinted areas will appear white due to the dark transfer paper having a white background, so you'll need to trim any unprinted areas. We have a good video comparing the two types onto the same colour fabric at th-cam.com/video/ykb7I-pJDcI/w-d-xo.html Watch this video and it will help illustrate the points I've made here. I hope this helps. Thanks for the comment!
I've purchased some of the transfer paper (which is far superior to the cheap stuff purchased in £1 stores). I'm interested in the actual technical side. I have purchased light transfer paper and have a cutting machine which leaves a small white border around the image. Are you saying that when the material is heated the white border becomes translucent? thanks
Hi, if you are talking about the light transfer paper, the white, unprinted areas of the transfer are almost invisible on a white t shirt. There is however a chemical film there and if you are printing onto slightly colour garments, the unprinted areas of the transfer paper may be more visible than when printing onto white (almost invisible). Thanks for the comment. Let me know if we can help further.
I'm transferring on both the front and back of a tshirt. Once I've applied the transfer to the front, will the heat of applying the transfer on the back adversely affect the front?
Hi, it could indeed. Therefore I'd suggest you insert a heat proof surface to the inside of the t-shirt, for example a kitchen cutting board. Thanks for the comment!
Great video! I followed the steps and it looked really good put I put it in the washing machine at 40 and when it came out the print was quite wrinkled?
Hi, if the transfer was wrinkled after the first wash, not enough heat and or pressure was applied during the transfer process. It will also help us to see an image of the outcome. Please contact us using the channel from which you bought the transfer and we'll help further. Thanks for the comment!
Hi sir, I would like known about ... Whether the transfer paper is used for printing images using Epson printer ....!And then used for transfer the image to T-shirt by heat press printing machine
Hey I hope you respond. I decided on using ringspun cotton. But I am unsure if this process works best on 100% ringspun cotton, or a cotton blend (cotton and polyester) such as 50/50 , 60/40, 65/35. What do you think? Thanks for the help.
Hi, t-shirt transfer works on most fabrics that can be ironed over without damage to the fabric. The back of the t-shirt where the label is will have any ironing / washing restrictions. In our tests, cotton (100% cotton) gives great long term results, however customers use many different fabrics. If you are buying our own transfer paper (PPD transfer paper) I can give you a more concise answer. Let me know. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you so much for the informations, i want to ask about the type of Iron used is it based on heat or water(Vapor) thanks✊✊ and how much time should i keep heating it??
can someone tell me this... if your using a heat press, im using the PowerPress, do you use a piece of parchment paper or silicon paper on top of the transfer when doing the initial press? or only on the 2nd press?
Hi, using the silicon when using the dark transfer with a heat press is not required. When using the light transfer paper (with heat press or an iron), we do recommend using the silicon. This video will also help th-cam.com/video/y8D9HWzg1II/w-d-xo.html&feature=emb_title Thanks for the comment!
Quick question: the printed instructions (which link to this video) say peel while hot, but you say wait until cold. Does it matter and which is correct? The paper is X001CGE1LV light inkjet (has PPD in red across the back of each sheet). Thanks.
Hi, peeling hot will result in matt finish and is recommneded. Peeling cold will result in a slight gloss finish. We therefore suggest peeling while hot. Thanks for the comment!
Question: Does the transfer paper leave a light visible border around the image you are trying to print on the shirt, or is the ink itself just transferred?
Hi, transfer paper will always contain some form of film on which ink can be transferred onto. This 'film' might be visible, so it is best to trim the unprinted areas as best you can. Light transfer paper onto white fabric is always transparent, so borders will only be visible from very close range. Dark transfer paper (which has a solid white background) will require trimming unless. If you want to see the difference between the two better, watch this comparison we made th-cam.com/video/ykb7I-pJDcI/w-d-xo.html Thanks for the comment.

Hi, you need to cut before pressing, correct. Thanks for the comment!
@@photopaperdirect Thanks for the info! Yes, I'm using an inkjet printer. What do you mean by "sub"?
@@GCfan1990 Hi, I meant if you're using sublimation inks as the PPD Transfer Paper is designed for normal inkjet inks. Thanks
Hey
For dark fabrics, is there any special considerations to be noted?
Is it a hard and fast rule to use 1200W iron? What about using 500W or 700W and keeping it pressured for a longer duration.
Thanks.
Hi, The process will not work with an iron lower than 1400w, even if you lron for longer. If you have areas of the transfer that have not adhered well this is because either you did not give enough heat in this area or not enough pressure was applied. Make sure you are working on a solid surface and not on an ironing board. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you, this is very helpful. I want to start a small clothing business. I got frustrated on silk screens. Very well explained. Thanks again.
do old TR-101 iron on transfers have a blue line across the back
This is helpful and will use for future projects, BUT, I have an image on a white t-shirt that I want to duplicate exactly and transfer to other t-shirts.
THANK YOU!!!!
Soooo Much for keeping this video simple. So many want to teach this but don’t know how
Thank you 🙏
Awesome video! I made an awesome shirt my first time but every time after that, my shirt came out crappy. It is def me not applying enough pressure. I was just ironing it like I iron my slacks.
Can you use wax paper (like the kitchen roll stuff) instead of silicone paper?.. I can't get silicone paper
So like i did exactly what you instructed and turns out after i iron the transfer imagine onto my shirt it intends to rip when i pulled it apart from the shirt. like stretch it. What should i do?
For a small scale industry, Which heating method is good. I think when we use the Iron box, It will take too much time and electricity.
I love ur video.
But I have a question .. I'm making a t-shirt blanket. Im using light weight pellon as a backing..should I transfer the picture on the t-shirt first. Or should I iron the pellon on the back first.
Hi, transfer paper adheres directly to the fabric. Thanks for the comment!
would it work the same way for a white pair of jeans or on jean material?
Hi, as long as you are able to iron the fabric without damage, the process will work. Thanks for the comment.
Does it print on black t shirt in mirror image (using dark transfer paper)?

Hi, you should use a good iron or 1600watts or over. Don't use steam. Thanks for the comment!

bestt ever shop i got the parchment paper with it unlike other shopsss yooo i love u guys
Instead of silicon paper, could you use wax paper or another type of paper to strengthen the image?
can someone tell me this... if your using a heat press, im using the PowerPress, do you use a piece of parchment paper or silicon paper on top of the transfer when doing the initial press? or only on the 2nd press?
@@photopaperdirect Thanks, luckily that's what I did and I have two T's both of which turned out great!
@@GrahamToal 👌Thanks for letting us know.
