    I love this. Being a truck driver I wanted to have good tone that was portable. The Micro Cube didn’t quite cut it so I bought the Pocket GT. I had a Fender Mustang Micro already but it was excessively bright even on the darkest EQ settings. The Pocket GT gives you so much control over the tone it was clearly a superior headphone amp. The ability to play along with backing tracks were just icing on the cake. I have been using it to expand my knowledge of scales and the fretboard and, yes, I do play it while kicking back and watching a movie on Netflix. And I actually thought your metal tone was pretty good. It had some mids!

My Rockman died years ago but this Boss could easily go in front of my effects unit and make reverb and such a lot easier to quickly set while playing back with older hit recording! And the controls on the device are great. BUT, for that TV play, I prefer using my Spark Mini, with no headphones at low volumes, hear the dialog on the shows, and still play, or a little louder during commercials. I'm really looking forward to a shootout. If possible, in the shootout video do you think you could compare how quick/easy it is to get them set up as a quick-and-dirty recording interface?
    I've got the HX Stomp and the Mustang Micro. I'm looking for a better, "I need to get this idea out of my head now so I don't forget" recording interface. Usually I use the HX to record, but if I'm jamming along to TH-cam videos with Star Trek playing in the background and have a riff/song idea, I don't like getting up and heading to the desk to boot everything up and get recording...I had originally hoped the Mustang Micro would serve that purpose, but I'm not as happy with that aspect of it and I'm wondering if the BOSS does a better job of it before I impulse-buy one.
    Edit: For real though...the "jamming to TH-cam videos while watching Star Trek in the background" comment you made in the Mustang Micro video is the reason I subbed to the channel way back when. Largely because the night before I saw it I was literally doing the exact same thing. Except it was HUM and Open Hand instead of New Wave.

    Man- this thing sounds great, really impressed. I'm old I guess- the fact that you can get all that into that little thing that fits in your pocket- that trips me out. I started playing in the 70s- I'm used to a rig that sounds like that being huge, and extremely expensive. I'm sure it will get even better in the future but, it seems like the golden age of guitar tech. in a way. I've watched modeling go from being as joke to being a serious thing that sounds amazing. I will say there are still somethings I think analogue does better but, it's just a matter of time.

    • @MrXeberdee
      @MrXeberdee ปีที่แล้ว

      Me too 70's, me too heavy expensive gear, me too - analogue sounds better. Ain't nothing gonna replace the sound of my Boogie/TriAxis/Soldano rack with 2 x 4 x 12's on high volume. BUT - man, the difference at low volume and even at high with some modellers is minimal if you run them through a decent power amp and some good cabs, and the benefits of the library of sounds is enormous. But not only that, for me it's about saying bye bye to all those patch cables between units, multiple preamps, noise reduction units, electrical interference and hum, amp repairs, lugging all that gear around. Fiddling around in the dark on gigs in the back of a rack. ATM whenever possible I use a handy little 50W combo and some pedals just because I'm lazy now and it's just easier to carry around. It's limited, so I'm looking at selling a guitar and getting an Axe FX3 modeller, building a smaller rack with my Boogie simul class 90, and 2 x 2 x 12's Marshalls - but for the price this little unit is awesome for what you get. Might as well just buy one at this price level.

    • @DeliriumXM
      @DeliriumXM ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrXeberdee totally agree, im kinda the opposite, like a new age guitar player. I started like 2 and a half years ago so fairly new, but i bought a schecter originally and a line 6 pod go shortly after. Things awesome at all volumes if you get the right tone. Still prefer playing my guitar through a nice amp instead of my studio monitors though. The “in the room feel” cant really get replicated by something like this amp or the pod go with my hifi speakers. (Playing my brothers les paul on his tube combo marshall opened my eyes. You can however just use the pod go strictly for effects into your amp (sounds awesome), which is my end goal once i save enough to buy an ac30. Modeling for effects is imo phenomenal with the right gear. Makes hundreds of tones accessible.

    Great demo! I'm a big fan of this little marvel as well. I even use it to gig sometimes. 😁
    I've got it to replace the Waza Air that I returned for being too expensive (really cool practice tool though).
    What I do to get the surround effect as in the Waza Air is: I use the reverb on Ambience and I pretty much get the same effect without the gyroscope of course. In that way your ears get even less fatigued.
    Maybe you should try it.

      Hi. God Willing. You said you use it to gig sometimes. I assume you plug in a speaker directly into the headphone slot? Does that work well? I mean if that's so, I can get it right up. • @MariaBethaniaCabrera
      @MariaBethaniaCabrera ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The headphone output isn't powerful enough to drive any speaker at gigging level.

    You got it when "messing with my vibe" due to an app being the only way to adjust the do-hicky needing a slight tweak. Thats a plus. It does not have a footswitch set up. It does not have a "C" connection for charging. It only goes 4 hours till a recharge. The app on your fone requires "location on" (WTF)....why does that matter? It's came out over a year ago & a bunch of reviews are out way ahead of 60 cycle hum. Not complaining Ryan, but I'm one who over reviews a gadget before I throw money at it. I have stuff collecting dust that ends up on E-bay later, at a discount. I like very much the size, the knobs, the Y/T section, the "no app required" to get up & goin.... can it Bluetooth to a Bluetooth headset ? Probably not, since it hooks up to the unit, but if I'm not on the app wud that work to my Bluetooth headset?.... (Fewer cables).... Without some foot working stuff, how do you go to different sounds without removing a hand to poke a button.? I'm still on the fence with this thing. (Sweetwater $130) Hmmmm !!?? Will watch this vid again for more info. Ryan, you like it, & that says alot due to your massive gathering of geeky guitar nerd stuff we all like. Keep it up.....😜

      im not sure its possible to have a guitar device that supports bluetooth headhone connections because theres lag over bluetooth, so your playing would feel significantly delayed.

    I think it’s important to say that the default sounds are not good BUT you need to read the manual and it explains a whole lot more. You can go into the app and edit the default sounds and make them sound really good or completely make your own unique sound. I’m quite impressed with this thing, You can also plug it into a regular speak with an aux and use it as an amp.

    Broke my Mustang Micro, and although I successfully grafted half of a patch cable to the circuit board, it’s pretty sketchy. Now that the pocket GT is only $100, it makes sense.
    I have a Nux MightyPlug that I never play, because the app reliance is annoying, and the sound quality is not great. It is nice for practicing bass (there are bass amps).
    Just ordered a Pocket GT on Reverb. Don’t forget the shootout. Please throw in something like and HX Stomp or Iridium as a ringer, and maybe an AmPlug as a sacrificial lamb. I want to see if these little guys stand up.

    After watching this, I pulled up the app in the Google Play Store on my Samsung Galaxy android phone, and I saw that the app had a terrible 2-star rating with people complaining about a lot of issues, but they were from 2020. There was one review from February 2021 that an update came through that fixed the issues. Can anyone that has/had this device, that used it on an android smartphone confirm that the issues have been fixed from those early bad reviews? Thanks in advance to anyone that can comment ✌️😎

    • @Metalpug79

      Looking through some more of the most recent app reviews still show some people having issues with the Bluetooth disconnecting... while some say they don't have the issues? It's hard to tell what's what, when you really don't know what smart device people are using and if that is contributing to the connection issues.
