    I am an over the road truck driver. I have limited space, this amp is perfect and amazing. The amps and effects are really cool and great for any genre.

      How cool that you can take your guitar with you on the road. Might be nice to decompress after a long day.

    Great review guys. This is the golden age of guitar gear. I am so glad I started learning playing 5 months ago.

      It may be the only thing that will save music is that people, once again, began to learn to play instruments like they once did prior to there being an internet to distract them.

    It sounds incredible! My only hesitation is you think there would be a BT interface APP where you can see what modes, amp and effects are available or you are using. I’m not a tech guy but I would think that it is very doable in that size considering what is done today technically and electronically. But maybe I’m missing something or is that to come in a different maybe pricier model which would be worth the dollars and the wait. Other than that as usual you guys did another great review. All that being said I’m about to get one ASAP!

    Got one in the mail this past weekend. Love that I can practice whereever, whenever I feel like not being tethered to an amplifier. It also takes pedals well, so now I can play around with those, too.

    Just ordered mine today, Always finding myself wanting to play guitar at the most unsociable hours. Granted I could stick some headphones into the guitar amp, but I like that I can connect to the PC/Phone/Tablet with bluetooth for something to play along with. Pure convenience.

  • @garyt123
    @garyt123 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Been playing for about 35 years so I remember when practice amps were basically sh1t in a box.
    Now I use a small 4W, home grown, 5F2 thingy I made with an audio valve from an old TV set, a Line6 Amplifi TT, and a recently purchased Spark 40 (which is great BTW, get one!). Years ago I bought a Vox Amplug (the AC30 version) and back then I thought the idea was good but the result was also pretty sh1t, especially coming from a company such as Vox.
    Last week my Fender Mustang Micro was delivered. The quality of the sound is incredible! Where I used to only practice on weekends, now I find myself grabbing a guitar at anytime during the day, when I maybe have 10 minutes or sometines less - its really that convenient!
    If you were deceived by those Amplugs, or if you loved them, this plug-in amp from Fender is the real deal and will blow you away. Its loads of fun and highly recommended!

  • @Lateral032
    @Lateral032 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    This thing works with AirPod maxs with the connected 3.5mm to lightning cable. All the modes work (noise canceling, transparency), dial raises/lowers the volume. Audio quality was great. The whole package is worth it. Loves all amps and effects. Didn’t feel like it was missing much. Boss katana go was discontinued so Fender needs to capitalize on this device now. I’d say this was the best buy of the year.

  • @DNYS8N
    @DNYS8N 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    When I purchased the Mustang Micro it stopped working in my Ibanez after a day of light use. I thought it was the micro and fender sent me a new one but it wasn’t the components failing. The micro unit swivels around its jack which consequently can loosen the barrel jacket housing shorting the solder connections of your guitar. My jack housing seemed tight but I opened the back and watched it slightly turn when I put the micro in and turned it. When I put a regular guitar chord in it seemed to stay put. So my extra caution is make sure your barrel jack housing is tight without play or buy a soldering iron.

    I love this Mustang Micro, I picked one up and its so stunning. Had the Vox AC30 version too but this is a little more versatile. I love it for browsing and playing guitars in the store, so easy to hop from one electric to another and be able to simply focus on the guitar and your playing of it within the store

    Great video Chris, I got my Mustang micro mini about a month ago and I play with it at least 2 to 3 times a week if not more it is hands-down the most awesome thing fenders come up with in a long time it is rejuvenated my electric guitar playing experience i used to have a Vox amplug the metal one that is now completely obsolete in fact I’m going to be giving it away to one of my former students I have no use for it anymore, this mustang micro mini also works really well with pedals i use a Boss PowerStack with it to boost the clean channels just to give me a little more variety you can even go into a powered speaker cabinet or I have even put it into my Bose L1 system and played through that, I wish this came out right when the pandemic started great video guys keep up the good work

    Great run through! I've recently bought the Mustang Micro and I've had the Vox Amplug2 Classic Rock for awhile and enjoy both of them. As you'd expect the Fender amps are amazing in the Micro and I hang out on the two Deluxe amps (Clean and Greenbox) all the time. My neck P-Rail's Rail coil and the stock SE bridge HB sound awesome with all the amps in the Micro, but with no Gain control the P-90 coil and the P-Rail HB can over power the Gain amps in the Micro. The great Fender tones are why I bought the Micro and I'm very happy with it. As for Gain I'll take my Vox Classic Rock with the Gain control separate from the Volume.

    Fantastic review, thanks! I am going to get this for all the stated reasons + it is not overbearing. The Boss GT (mini Katana, I guess) has far too many options for a beginner and it relies too much on interaction with a phone/computer. This has enough variety and is self-sufficient. I have a Blackstar HT5 II with gain channel that I really like. The Fender should be modelling Fender clean better than anyone else's product.

  • @FullTekAuto

    All you have to do is plug in a small attachable speaker into the headphone out and you can busk anywhere you want.
    Or plug in one of those stick on surface speakers or sound exciters that amplify from any surface on the body guitar and spook people out

    Next step... Fender needs to take on the Boss Katana Air & the Yamaha THR ii series.... put this tech in a quality bluetooth/stereo enclosure. Desktop amps are the future. Not that many guitarists actually play gigs. We can't have a twin deluxe in the living room. Yamaha THR & Boss Katana changed the game. Come on Fender!!!!

    Can you save any settings or do you have to push the button 7 times to get to your favorite sound? Will it at least save your last setting? The Nux mighty plug has saved settings and much more tones. Have you guys reviewed this one that has been out for awhile?

    • @jnh73
      @jnh73 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Settings cannot be saved. You have to push the button multiple times. It will save your last setting, and return to that setting when you power it up. That said, I find the amp models are really responsive, especially the '70s British, that you can go clean to mean with a twist of the volume knob. I stay pretty much on that amp model, and the Tape Delay effect. If you need to change tones constantly, the NUX might be a better bet.

    • @SaxJockey

      Great Question. What did you go for, the Fender or Nux?

    • @SaxJockey
      @SaxJockey 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great answer. I have asked this many times, some people get confused and say no, you have to start all over every time*, some say it saves the last settings...that's fine by me. Surprised that the Fender manual does not make this clear.
      *Seems that some expect to be able to save different settings (EQ, Effect, Modify) for each amp model. That's not possible, there is no save button. That's where the Nux Mighty Pro comes in useful.

      Good question! I‘m going to buy it for adding a bit of electric guitar to my otherwise acoustic set, but if it could also be used to add some different colors to an acoustic, maybe I could even get by without dragging the electric guitar along. You know, stuff like „Mary Jane‘s Last Dance“ (Tom Petty) or „Drive“ (R.E.M.) without having to actually play an electric. Feels like Christmas even though it‘s only spring... :-)

    • @jnh73

Thanks for turning me onto this new device. Should be perfect for adding some electric guitar to my otherwise acoustic set, playing straight through a HK Polar 10 column speaker. Hope I can beam the audio straight to the Bluetooth channel on that speaker. If not, I‘ll just run a cable. Will hit „Buy“ as soon as it becomes available over here in Germany.

    NUX already invented this product and released it two years ago. It's called the NUX Mighty Plug. Their version cost about 20% less, has almost the same number of amp models and effects, supports USB recording and Bluetooth backing tracks played from the phone. The NUX version also has a built in rhythm machine and something the Mustang does not, the NUX Mighty Plug has a companion App for iOS and Android that syncs over Bluetooth and lets you edit the amp model, effects etc assigned to the three channels on the device... NUX Mighty Plug also has an acoustic simulator. Fender didn't innovate, they are following with this one.

      Calm down. Vox has been making the Amplug for years and years. Nux is also a follower.

      @@user-tz2zz5ij1s Yeah, I collect these things... Have the NUX and the Fender one and here's the brutal truth, the BOSS Katana Go is the only one worth buying. It sets the bar incredibly high and delivers the same tones coming out of their amps, not to mention "boot to bass mode" feature. Everything before the Katana Go was made obsolete by it, objectively on quality of tone/effects/features for price.
