I hate when ppl are trying to limit someone else’s game. Just cause he’s 7’5 doesn’t mean he can’t work on every part of his game. That’s literally what every precessional should be doing. Working on every part of the game
3 months is 3 months. Going into this year, anyone with any bball knowledge knows what Kmart is talking about. His development into year 2 after what we saw in year 1 is better in TD hands than JC5 hands

Wemby turned the ball over a lot when dribbling around the paint so now hes working on his ball handling, I'm with it, I'm sure this was after his regular workout
Exactly another thing a that for a big man like him it's easier for smaller players to pick your pockets just look a Rudy Gobert dude gets his pockets picked consistently
his two only weaknesses at this point is turnovers and shooting, specifically catch and shoot. his work ethic is off the chart and he was already improving on these things by seasons end, the league is so done for 😭
@@crystalizedExposedI don’t think his shooting is a weakness. He can’t shoot the rock he just didn’t get that many in rhythm. When he creates his own shot he’s one of the top shooters in the league actually
@@letsgobrandon1906it isn't a weakness but i wouldn't call it a strength per say either but i think that's how most first year players are shooting in arenas is a lot different than anywhere else i didn't realize till shooting on one honestly if he develops a kd like midrange game the 3 gon come with it i believe but like you said he's not a bad shooter by any means and can only get better
Yes indeed. If he worked on this instead of his basics, it would be a mess but he just does it like an additional thing. It can't be bad for his TOs.
If Wemby learns that behind the back crossover it’s a wrap
Wait a minute!!!
I invented that move.
You have to be EXCEPTIONALLY STRONG AND DEDICATED TO MASTER THAT BEHIND THE BACK CROSSOVER.
I DONT KNOW WHY HE NEEDS THAT MOVE.

Kenyon is looking at Wemby through Kenyon limitations, props to Wemby for trying new things
Damn
Kenyon gotta understand, we called wemby “alien” coz he different. Now kenyon wants him to be a traditional center 😂
nah, you're missing the point... you gotta work on your weak points first. Wemby is weak and his post game suffers because of that. working with Jamal seems like he is ignoring his weak spots. He probably working on everything though.
@@BigDJeff wembys biggest weakness was turnovers mainly from dribbling in the paint getting ripped by smaller defenders other TO by js dumb passes but him working on his dibbling will stop the turnovers and give him more opportunities to score or get an assist but im js giving my opinion nd as u said he prob workin on everything
Kmart ain’t say nothing wrong! The objective is to get the easy bucket!
Wemby needs to master that regular jumpshoot first and a regular blowing by a defender first before mastering between the legs bullshit.
The reason why MJ, lebron, kareem, dirk etc are one of the most unstoppable offensive engines is cause they have that 1 signature move or shot that no one is stopping unless they consistently throw a double or a triple at you. Wemby don't have that yet. The last thing he needs is some between the legs bullshit.

They just need to make outlandish takes to garner traffic lol. I respect Kenyon and grew up watching the nets in their glory days, but dude is just hating on Wemby and how great he has already become.
Wemby is well within reason working with Jamal, it makes sense. Love the No Chill Gil pod and all but this makes sense
He’s not going to be the only 7’5 big, and he’s not going to be the only one that can dribble/iso well. The game is evolving and whether the old heads like it or not, we’re going to see more of this every year.
Wemby has the greatest organization possible at his behest and aid, I have no doubt he’ll leave his mark.

Wemby takes 1 pick w/ Jamal and everybody trippin. Just 1 photo gentlemen. Plus, havin handles at his size is what makes him special, so if his handles get better, he bout to get MORE special.

Both points of view are valid. Working with an elite dribbler such as Jamal Crawford, it can only help, but at the same time, he can't get away from the fundamentals of just being a big in the NBA. As talented as he is, we tend to forget that he's still very young. It's about balance.
Wemby can work on that part of his game, thats what makes him the wildcard, the alien. He's not a typical 7'5 big guy, hes not Porzingus. He can actually dribble, which will give him advantages. I always knew someday there would be someone like Wemby, tall, ability to dribble, shoot 3s etc. Kenyan is wrong.

Wemby really didn’t have any flaws he just needed to gain more weight he’s already a problem he can literally do everything
He does have to gain more weight, but there's only so much he could add because of his frame. You add much more than what his frame can handle and he'd be injury prone. So, little bit of muscle here and there is great, but he sure does need to find a way to get stronger without gaining excessive weight and muscle for his frame.

@@SwaggySimon20yeah you know about all that! It’s over for American born players
Kmart the game is changing stop putting your limits on the future!!
the hard truth is that if prime kmart played today with his skill set and athletic ability, he would basically have the effectiveness of a daniel gafford. when kmart played conventionally that's what bigs were taught to do, screen, block shots, rebound and post. which he did well. but now we got bigs like jokic, embiid.. mvps who are 7' but do everything on offense, pass, shoot, not just the 'conventional' big man skill set. kmart's impact would basically be the same as watching daniel gafford guarding porzingis (like in game 1), so yeah, you 7'3 tingus why you out there chucking 3s? lol. when you see something you don't understand, the default thing to do is try to box into something that you do understand - so for kmart his understanding of a big means fundamental big only. but what is harder to guard - seeing a post move done to death 10m times by others or a new move that's never been seen before? when you got a chance to be first in something and trailblaze you gotta be ready to take it to the naysayers that want to box you into normalcy. I think wemby is gunning to be the true 1/1
I love how transparent this show is. Their honest opi ion on wemby year two is 100.
Wemby is 7’5 and already has an great arsenal of post moves …. He doesn’t need to work on his post he’s adding strength to allow it to translate into this game… with that said him working on taking ppl off the dribble when he can shoot and transition into post off dribble will make his game way better so I definitely don’t see a problem with him working on his handle for a summer or 2
Wemby is an extremely smart kid if you hear him talk. I trust he knows what he has to do to move towards his goal of being best player in the world. Old heads are always hating wanting big men to play like the bigs of the past but there’s a reason the game evolved past that. The increased usage of the 3 point line has made the game more dominated by perimeter skills not post skills.
So happy to be a spurs fan
He’s the next generational talent dude stays healthy he will accomplish things no one else has especially because nobody can contest his shot to easy to score when u know nobody can block his shot

That bank shot is such a great skill. Tim duncan, Wilt Chamberlain, Elvin Hayes. One of westbrooks more consistent shots. I think it’s a high percentage when utilized right and adds one more good tool in a great nba players arsenal.
being able to improve his handles, also helps with him turning the ball over less
Year 1 for wemby was a movie IMO
8:40 Gil saying "when he's coming down on me" and not saying "PAUSE" sounds crazy🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
For Wemby….its about longevity, keep doing the simplest things that work for him, high efficiency plays, and multiple counters now that there is a full season of film on him.

Yo Wem, with J-Cross moves is unFAIR!

I think by year 4-5, that version of Wemby will be the greatest version of a basketball player we’ve ever seen. By that time, he will weigh more and I’m positive he will be a force on the low block. He will be 100% dominant on both sides of the ball.
we are kind of Underestimating the impact of the footwork coordination help in transition offense and in traffic that jamal crawford brings.. is not just handles the moves.. is also the court awareness.. wemby will constantly be triple teamed from two seasons on.. So he will kind of have to learn Point Forward offense, and we see how great That style works for Giannis even though Giannis has limited Footwork. I feel Wemby can expand the game beyond our imagination. we saw just a bit of how his wingspan can impact and make us see stuff we havent yet witness
Basketball is in bad shape..7’5 and I need 17 dribbles it’s just stupid…if KD is the game he studied one dribble pull-up, spin strong or weak side back shot…BASKETBALL IS EASY

Hes tall, lengthy, and light, but most of all, hes quixk on his feet, although hes not gonna be a primary ballhandler, him learning moves is gonna help him create space and then work from there
I agree with Kenyon. At 7'5, he is making it harder that what he needs it to be. He also has aceess to tum duncan and david robinson. Two top 15 players of all times.
He’s teaching him agility & balance with the ball. With His wingspan it’s some times he’s goofy with the ball in hand but that’s what Jamal is for. It ain’t like he wanna be a dribble dribble guy he working on the fundamentals
I think it would benefit Wemby’s development if his coaches and trainers don’t put him in a box. The reason he was hyped immensely as a prospect was because for his size, he could do a lot of things. That’s what made him unique. Sure he will benefit from Hakeem’s lessons, Wemby already said during the season that he and Pop were studying films of players with great fundamental skills and footwork such as MJ, Kobe, Tim, Hakeem, and Kareem. If Wemby also wants to improve his handles, then let him. Jamal might also be teaching him how to defend shifty guards and maybe, he’s also learning a thing or two about playmaking. Pop did put Wemby sometimes as a PG in offense and a center on defense. JCrossover skills might serve him well in the long run especially in the modern era of basketball where it’s more positionless now.
Wemby in the AS game gonna be crazy lol gonna be must see tv
The game is evolving. Telling him to get on the block is old. He doesn’t need 20 dribbles. Imagine the spacing with a weapon like Wemby being creative. Either understand that or look dumb when the game changes.

Some of these old heads can't accept that Wemby is a completely different type of player.
He says get on the block.. bro his shooting percentages look good.
Also he be in the paint sending absolutely everything back that comes his way. So he's serving as a rim protector too.
I'd say let him work on whatever he wants as long as he's working on something. The kid has so much talent that he's going to be good regardless.

Ayo Gil when you gonna coach a team,
& what team you wanna coach???
Imma say this ya next 10 videos 💪🏾🏀🏆✨️
My goat coming for heads next season, Spurs about to orchestrate some moves!!
the more versatile wemby is the better for both him and the spurs, if he gets an elite handle and jumpshot he can bassically play any position on the court which makes it a lot easier to sign free agents and build the team in general, theoretically they could sign a center like joel embiid or a small forward like kevin durant and wemby would be fine either way
😂 “ why he need that? Get your big ass on the block” 😂😂
Nah, wemby skill set doesn't need to take a back seat because he's 7'5, if anything the spurs need to help him have an identity with all those skill, develop at least one or two go to moves, and incorporate it into winning with the right pieces. This is new age athlete's, and new age basketball. Wemby doesn't have to be reduced to a Yao Ming, or Shawn Bradley, or anything we've already seen, because he's 7'5.
He needs to be in the weight room and the cafeteria. Would be nice to see him working with a big to improve his post game, but he’s a generational talent. He might be doing all that stuff and more.
Wemby most likely work with bigs and smalls because of his style of play. No matter his height he wants to increase all aspects of HIS GAME. I also agree with Gil on the misdirection handles before layups, dunks, and jump shots. Not really just about dribbling. 😂 let this man get his shine on and hope and pray he don’t get hurt. It will be a sight to see.
This will also help him with perimeter defence.
