Does better career mean better player? Is Robert Horry top 5? Playing on a better team doesn't make an individual player better than someone who never had the team to win or clashed with another great run happening simultaneously. I'd rather have pre injury Grant Hill than a lot of players. I'll take one year of a player averaging 30 over 10 years of a guy averaging 15. When discussing better player longevity means nothing. People mix up greatest and best and more talented.
Greatness is high performance over extended periods. There are numerous high performers - amazing games, superb plays, outstanding highlights. Then there are the few that are great as they are in the elite "Top X" for decades. They maintain their performance despite injury, roadblocks, set backs, etc. Not only do they have the talent, they have the work ethic, dedication, and mental fortitude to continually go to the next level.

All his stats increased. He was just unfortunate with injuries and then before his injuries came Into play he had Grant Hill injured they entire time he was in Orlando and then in Houston on years they had a chance to contend Yao Ming was out with injury. He just was unfortunate. But even with all that he had a hell of a career and I had the pleasure of watching many games of his live and in person. T-mac is my all time favorite player.
@@jvilmusic TMac has choked in almost every 1st round series he's played in. Its not just about overall stats, but those that come in critical moments. Dude has been Casper the Friendly Ghost in 4th quarters.
Were really comparing a dude who has choked in the playoffs for his entire career vs a dude who has a finals mvp 3 years in the league. And all defensive team multiple times and 3 championships. What are we even discussing here???
That's what I don't get. They are overweighting offensive capability in the regular season vs playoff performance wins/championships and defensive capability. I would rate Dr J and Clyde Drexler over Harden easily.
Harden and Wade are 2 NBA SGs. You absolutely can compare 2 people who do the exact same job. Top all-time lists are subjective. As long as you submit something reasonable, nobody's personal preference should be questioned. Wade is the better all-around player because he's better on defense. But Harden's scoring and playmaking ability was elite, so that can carry a lot of weight for some people's preference. He's carried a lot of weak teams, made the playoffs every year, racked up numerous achievements and has career winning % of 65%, top 10 amongst all active players. The post-season and regular seasons are separated, with different stats, awards, and records. Winning championships is a TEAM accomplishment and shouldn't be the end all be all for top all-time list, if an individual player was elite statistically throughout their career Wade is always ranked ahead of Harden by most people. But don't act like Harden is just some bum who doesn't deserve to be mentioned amongst the best SGs of all-time
Great cast by the way. 💯 I wish that I caught it live and was able to see the whole discussion. Both sides made good points and I feel like I could listen to both sides make them all day. I feel like Unfortunately they were discussing the same subject but from a different point of view so they could never win the argument or meet halfway until they realized that fact. Rashad was talking about how T Mack was dominant in his position while he played. Top tier, untouchable and his opponents like The Black Mamba, Kobe Bryant would be the first to admit that fact after playing against him for the years that T was in the N.B.A. Unfortunately again, the problem is that as great as Tracy was his career was cut short by injury so we will never know how great dude could have been if he stayed in the N.B.A and didn't have a career ending injury(s). So his pick was partially based on, I don't want to say make believe but hypothetical assumptions given what he had accomplished during his short career. Gilbert on the other hand is arguing about the fact that you can't say that someone is the G.O.A.T, no matter what the subject is about. Until they have a full career. A career including all the up's, all the downs and all the up's and the downs again. Basically he's saying that you can only gage an individuals greatness by looking at their body of work over a long career without making assumptions about the," could have beens', and the,' would have beens." I have to say that I agree with both sides because their arguments are legit from their points of view. I however will say that T Mack cannot be placed above Dwyane Wade with looking at them careerwise. But I can say that in a one on one match up in the gym or out in the park, I would probably put my money on Tracy McGrady because homeboy was a straight beast and would probably destroy D Wade when they were at their prime. Just my opinion as well and just like the G.O.A.T argument I think that M.J summed it up best by saying that we will never know who the true G.O.A.T is because the best of the best have historically played in different eras and against different opponents. With different rules, different accessories, doctors, coaches, medicine etc.
The fact McCants said that’s it’s always a convo between choosing James Harden and D Wade is CRAZY because I never heard anybody but him have that conversation 😂😂😂

@@MdubkcEASILY
Winning championships is a TEAM accomplishment and shouldn't be the end all be all for top all-time list, if an individual player was elite statistically throughout their career
Wade is always ranked ahead of Harden by most people. But don't act like Harden is just some bum who doesn't deserve to be mentioned amongst the best SGs of all-time

I wish that I caught it live and was able to see the whole discussion.
Basically he's saying that you can only gage an individuals greatness by looking at their body of work over a long career without making assumptions about the," could have beens', and the,' would have beens."
I have to say that I agree with both sides because their arguments are legit from their points of view.

SheBron is the 15th best player in NBA history at any metric, 11th AT BEST. A million shortcomings
@@IknowMoreThanYou HES TALKING ABOUT HARDEN
Scoring leader with free throws and a million shots lol he can pass the ball I give em that top 10 ain't sniffing top 5 when you can't win but I see your point for having high in your list
Jordan, Kobe, Wade, West, Iverson end of story
Jordan, Kobe, AI, Wade, Sam Jones....(hesd to head in playoffs Sam Jones was kryptonite for West)
Y’all forgot ray allen Reggie miller etc
At least those 2 won at least 1 playoff series 😂😂😂😂
Wade is definitely #3... and as for his argument, when you talk like that it becomes situational, like her album was best his season was best, but her career and his career were not the best.
Let's add Clyde Drexler to the argument
Big Facts
drexler top 5?
That's what I'm saying I'm thinking hardens maybe top 10
respectfully, I think what holds Clyde back in these convos was his defense. He wasn't a horrible defender, but for arguably the 2nd most athletic player in the league during his time, he never was a known defender nor made an All Defensive teams. Hence why guys who were both All NBA & All Defense are inherently more valuable as two-way players.
Guys like TMac
The dude (McCants) that doesn't have a resume says DWade resume doesn't matter. lol
That was poetically and brilliantly stated by Gil: "we have to see the great of you, the fall of you and the bounce back"! Brilliantly structured statement.
