  • The NUS Centre for Biomedical Ethics (CBmE) and SHAPES in collaboration with the National Centre for Infectious Diseases present the workshop on the Ethics of Human Challenge Studies held on 8 April 2024.
    Part 2 of this workshop chaired by Prof Julian Savulescu from CBmE, focuses on COVID-19 Challenge Trials and highlights from initiatives in Singapore:
    1. Dr Bridget Williams, a public health physician and PhD candidate at the University of Oxford, discussed "Barriers and challenges specific to the COVID-19 context" (00:01:22 - 00:18:13)
    2. Associate Professor Barnaby Young, Head of the Singapore Infectious Diseases Clinical Research Network (SCRN) and Principal Investigator of the Sing-Cov study, delivered insights into "COVID-19 challenge trials: context and ongoing projects" (00:19:00 - 00:43:03)
    3. Sam Xin Hui, Research Fellow formerly at NCID and currently at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine offered "Public perspectives on challenge studies in Singapore" (00:43:52 - 00:55:32)
