I can't believe they didn't discuss Vitamin D as Tim is a bit of a sceptic - as soon as the QMUL double-blind clinical trial reports we should have a definitive answer!

A lot of people already know about the vitamin D and very important for people to understand what they're talking about at the 48 minute mark. Prebiotics and probiotics. I make them at home with just two three or four ingredients. Very easy
Good idea to listen to this twice.
Wishing everybody well with their health🙏🎶👣🌿

Thank you to both of you for making the time to do this interview, followed both channels for many months instead of listening
to the 'puff' from the news and the press, my gf and I sat down last night and watched the whole interview end to end, if you said to me a year ago I would be watching two experts on youtube talking about viruses and the gut for my evening viewing I would have said you were mad! Well here it is and a wonderful engaging interview from two experts on top of there game and able to reach out to the general public and communicate the science clearly, it would have been an honour to have been taught by either. Keep up the good work and thank you again.

So many gems in this interview. We’ve learned about better hygiene, immunity, better food choices for the gut biome, so why can’t we learn to respect animal populations? Instead of encroaching on them and destroying their habitats we should work with them for the sake of the environment and our health.

I think it took me a few days after the launch of the app to hear about it and to get signed up on Zoe last March. It was in the middle of when I wasn't too well [two symptoms - who knows...?] and I had to do a catch-up entry at the time. Recently after my first jab, I got called in for a PCR test after the initial effect of it - I think that helped train the algorithm not to worry about reactions to the jab for the first couple of days!

I adore studying genetics and epigenetics! Seems we learn more about them everyday. We are still so far from understanding how they all work together to make our physical body. This is the actual place that turn what we are born with and what we do with what we take from our environment.
Genetics being the fixed factors with the extremely flexible epigenes surrounding them and tell them how to be expressed. Amazing proof of the absolute uniqueness of an individual!

Wearable tech is great - for the individual. But let's not kid ourselves: the reason CoV-2 came through the US and apparently the UK and did damage to such a large proportion of those under 60 is the highly processed foods we consume and in some cases subsist on, leading to all sorts of things (obesity, HTN, diabetes, etc). So, until a direct link between these foods is made to kidney disease, to dialysis, to infections and amputations, we can wear all the tech we want, good public health ain't coming any time soon. We need tighter regulation of HFCS, sugar, and yes maybe artificial sweeteners, and we need mass public education campaigns. Stop profiting off the lower middle class and people under stress. Now!

Question: when we agree to have our biodata collected by an app, is that permission single-use, or can future researchers use that biodata indefinitely for both research and publication? When I was a PhD candidate we put numerous protections in our human subjects research permission slips re. how future data could be used. These app permissions lack that specificity. Thanks!

I love the idea of the Zoe app and logging info and getting info back from it. That is different and interesting. But I am one of the people that is a bit worried about data sharing. I’m not bothered about sharing my details with anyone involved in this project but there is a bit of me that is worried about privatisation of our health care system and not being able to be insured for something because of something I logged on an app years ago. I know it sounds ‘tin foil hat’ but I don’t trust this particular government at all.

Is there a link to the app? I can't find it in the Android playstore. Also the nutritional app before it was modified for covid tracking what was that called.

Unless I missed it, you didn't discuss vitamin D with professor Spector. He did say quite clearly that taking one vitamin is not going to do the job, and that the absorption of supplements or any nutrients for that matter depends on the gut microbiome. This may in fact explain the not always successful vitamin D experiments.
