I lived with my sister in Pantego, Texas. Dime's house is about 1 mile away. I play disc golf at Veterans Park in Dalworthington Gardens. His home is a block away. The park is shown in Dimevision 1. He's setting off fireworks there. The love for Dimebag and Vinnie Paul is very strong here. I've seen Rita at the local grocery store and Vinnie driving a black Dodge Ram one day. R.I.P Abbott Brothers.
back when dime and vin were kids they both wanted drums but their dad jerry only bought one drum set and dime said vinnie always hogged it so he switched to guitar. thanks vin for hogging drums! you and dime are legends of your instruments thanks to that.
+Angelic Man If that was God's intention, and God created Satan and evil itself, then that means everything falls into his divine plan, which makes god evil.
I've witnessed Pantera 7 times live and I can say they were the same every time. SO UNBELIEVEABLE TIGHT, like a machine. I'll never forget those days. White Zombie was a perfect support band for them. What fun times. We love you, Vinnie and Dime. Forever.
I seen that tour up here in Canada. In Hamilton with open act was White Zombie in 1996. Crown Royal was out of thier reserve batch when them 2 brother's came to Canada's Crown Royal production company! R.I.P. Dime n' Vinny! Rest with your beloved mother and someday be reacquainted with father as a whole! The world misses you two badly!
@@MrAD-mb9nhonce I was at the "Club 1000" in Nashville when Pantera tore it completely up. People would come up on stage and stage dive. Between songs Phil would make jokes."Heres a fat Tony Iommi, let's see you flatten the pit!" Dime would make sound effects when folks would jump off into the crowd. It was so much fun and they were SO great. There were about 200 people there that night. OMG I'll always cherish Pantera memorys. Peace be with you Mr. AD!
Dime was one of the best. He was always smiling, laughing, and just generally having a good time. He could melt your skin with his guitar riffs and he wasn't too bad of a drummer.
You can notice that he has this specfic groove even when playing drums. That's why a lot of his songs have a pretty strong hook, and a lot of rhythmic riffs.Pretty sure he would've been an kickass bass player too!
man dime was so badass! I wish he was still around!!! I wounder how many more pantera home videos there would have been....if phil fixed everything that is.
It was beacause of dimebag that I started playing guitar. what a great musician and person he was. an inspiration to many and many more to come. Only warriors die doing what they love.
wow, that was pretty nice. i didn't know he could play the drums as well. awesome. talent runs in that family. kudos to him and his big bro. R.I.P. Dime. we miss ya.
great video, thanx alot for posting it!!! :D yea he´s skillz was on the guitar but notice how fast he got the hang of it- quick learner. He had skills, great man!
He could've been an early techno drummer. Ministry, Nine inch nails, KMFDM. But his skills as a drummer could only get hem so far. So he turnt to the guitar. Good choice Dime. Good choice!!
he was guitarist of pantera. one of the most influential metal bands ever. he was shot on stage by ex-marine nathan gale, who's journal revealed him to be a paraanoid schitsophrenic (i know i spelt that wrong) and beleived that the band could read his thoughts.
I'll never understand why people have to compare and hate on other bands! Both bands are amazing in their own ways. And as for this little debate about Kirk v Dime, Lars v Vinnie, its all personal preference, just respect the musicianship of all of them they've all been successful and all inspired many people.
Dimebag can do whatever he wants lol if he wants to play drums then rock out, hell ya! goes to show how musically rounded he is, its good to know all that. R.I.P. Dimebag
elliotsemler I see what you mean. For some reason people becoming obsessed with Dimebag, they almost worship him. Yeah I'm fan of Dimebag, and in my opinion he's definitely in top 5 of world's best guitarists. And it sucks that he was killed. But it came to the point of having a new religion based on a person, which seems ridiculous. Dime's not a god, he's man. One hell of a man! RIP
ATTENTION: On August 20 this year, Dimebag will be 45 years old!!!!! we should all celebrate that day by listening to nothing but pantera and damageplan that day!!!!! thumbs up so people can see!!!!
I'm not worshiping him, I admire his talent. I mean he (with Pantera of course) pretty much raised the bar for metal in general, Pantera was everything that metal should be.
Well I've never given a fuck about Pantera personally, but i do acknowledge the influence they had on metal (and the influence Exhorder has had on Pantera). Anyone else won't have any trouble recognizing the influence that Hetfield's style (OBVIOUSLY he had his own style) had on metal from the eighties on. But whatever, you're entitled to your opinion and your Lamb of God and Children of Bodom (somehow the biggest Dimebag fanboys always worship those two bands), and I to my own. It's all good.
Robert Fripp, John Petrucci, or Alex Lifeson are on my top fave lists as well and I've seen them all live. I just think dime should be up there as well. Out of all the concerts I've been to dime still has played the most solid riffs and solo's even drunk off his ass. Now I can understand all the pante-fanboys getting on your nerves but saying that Dime couldn't play guitar is a stretch.
@Obelisk894 Furthermore, when i say they were friends, they actually met sometime around 1984 (there's a bunch of pictures with Dime, Hetfield, Lars and Rex, Where dimes wearing a Ride the Lightning T-shirt) So, if Dime was wearing a Metallica shirt in 1984, it means Pantera was in their early glam days and just getting it started, and already knew the Tallica guys. Anyways, i'm not here to fight over who was inspired by who, just go and look for the Get Thrashed documentary and get educated ;)

Lars feels even more adequate to see a guitarist playing drums 10 times better than him.
