@shanesymonds How many times can the phone be open full.screen mode in 24 hours . The reason for asking is my fold2 after 2 years of use is not opening fully
First Thing You Should Do *Kiss your money and the warranty GOODBYE.* Had a Samsung flip. When I purchased it 12 months ago, I noticed 2 indentations in the screen one top left and one bottom left, because the phone worked perfectly and the dents weren't noticeable, I did not worry about them. 11 months after purchasing the screen began to lift at the fold. I thought it was not a problem it will be covered under warranty. "NO, IT WAS NOT". When I took it to Samsung they said that due to those 2 indentations it was not covered under warranty. I have since come across 3 others who have had the same problem with screen lifting and Samsung have found some excuse not to cover the warranty. *My advice is to STAY AWAY FROM SAMSUNG*
At the beginning of the month, I gave up on my 13pro max for the fold 4. With an unbroken record with iphones for the last 10 years, I took the plunge with a day after discovering the fold4 was launched. It took 3 videos and 1 day later at the store, I simply had to bring it home. Fold 4 offers an amazing experience unlike any other. The camera though not the top spec from the fleet, really shines with raw files. The main screen is the best thing. The fold in summary is simply 2 phones combined into a seamless package working as a mini tablet that fits the pocket. I haven't been reaching out for my ipad as a result. All in all, a total game changer for myself!
@@alas26 Well I would be lying to say it was painless right off the bat for the entire process. The 1st hurdle was whatsapp transfer, do not waste time with 3rd party apps. Samsung has a built in app "smart switch" install that app with the aid of a lightning cable to usb. The store threw in an adapter to adopt to the type C. Getting this component is essential. You will be able to transfer all the data from iphone to the fold4 for whatsapp. It took 30 plus minutes for me to transfer all 1.7gb worth of backup. The second hurdle, mostly made up of pics and videos backed up on my computer over the years. So it's a matter of house cleaning. Icloud can be abit more of a chore. To cut the chase, i have only ported files from the last 2 years into the current phone. I am adding older files by batches thereafter. You may transfer icloud data in a likewise manner within a 2 year range to keep things on a sane level. Now at some point there maybe a point of no return if you are solely dependent on any cloud system. If i had half a tera worth on any cloud service, the daunting thought of changing to another ecosystem would deter any possibility. Then again, if you do have a separate backup elsewhere, be selective on what you need to get on with a new phone. The change is not as difficult and trust me the fold4 is absolutely worth it. There is no time better than now with Samsung smart switch, it is easier than ever without playing jackpot with 3rd party apps. I stand by my previous statements, fold4 has been an absolute blast minus the battery life being a trade off. No way am i going back to ios at least for whats available from the lineup. Good luck
I've had mine for about 3 weeks and it's been amazing. I had a Fold 1 I bought used a couple years ago for $500. I loved it so much I hadn't intended on upgrading now, although it was starting to show its age. I usually buy used phones and didn't think I'd ever be able to afford a Fold 4. I had intended on making it another year and buying a used Fold 3 or something for $500. Anyways, Fold 4 preorders came out, and I was able to trade in my Fold 1 for $925, along with an old Note 9 for another $150. So $1075 credit. Put it at about $700. Then I got $100 back on Rakuten, a free Galaxy Watch 5, a free set of Galaxy Buds Pro 2, and the free case with Spen. I sold the Watch 5 and Buds Pro 2 for about $400. So all in all, cost me about $200 to upgrade from my old Fold 1 to a brand new Fold 4! I put Samsung Care on it, and with 4 years of guaranteed OS updates, this thing should hopefully last me the next 4-5 years - or until another insane trade-in offer comes for a newer fold, lol.
Very nicely done - and jumping from Fold 1 to 4 will probably feel like a huge (and welcome) step! I have a Fold 3, got it at launch. This form factor might not be perfect for everyone, but it's exactly what I want in a pocket-able device, I don't foresee going back to a "normal" phone any time soon
Yeah, I took advantage of the same deals. And I sold the Watch and Buds for about $450 and put it towards the phone. All of these reviewers remark on the price and I'm here thinking it was very cheap for what I got.
Hands down the best phone that money can buy. A lot of money, but the best. Watching football games on this thing is crazy good. Everyone will ask you to hold it too. I traded it in for my S22U, was tired of the same phone year after year, I don't think I put this fold down since I bought it a month ago.
@@ShaneSymonds I really love the smaller screen too, I haven't even began using flex mode yet, I actually prefer using the outer display folded when I'm laying down. This phone is definitely worth 1500 dollars, 1800 is a bit steep but it's also a statement when you have something expensive.
It’s a great phone but not the best money can buy. It suffers in 2 areas that should be a must on any smartphone for most users, battery life and cameras.
I was a bit skeptical about taking a dive into the fold world, today I am absolutely happy I did. This phone is insanely great. I got mine on the 26th of August and have not put it down except when I am asleep. Be warned, the usage is addictive, you will find it had to put this mini machine down🤣🤣🤣. Its utility is beyond this world. It costs a pretty penny but is worthwhile. Go for it, I promise you you won't regret it...
I had the Flip3 and it was a great device. I did trade it in (and got $900 off) for my new Fold4. I can tell you I will never ever go back to a standard slab. I did, immediately, apply a screen protector on the outer display and the camera lenses. I just figure I wouldn't want to deal with a scratch the hard way. I love this device though. Great video BTW.
The fact that you did not mention once even in passing the IMMENSE multitasking capabilities of the inner screen does discredit to the review ngl...its not just a "foldable tablet alongside a handheld device" its a multitasking device that makes interapp procedures INCREDIBLY attainable and convenient, absolutely AMAZING for graphic/creative workflows, the ability to have two and even three creative/business/professional apps running on ONE screen is a HUGE gamechanger, even the v60 and surface duo makes this apparent despite the design flaws and massive gaps, these machines are beast for multitasking and creative/professional workflows, the fold is only better
If anyone was curious, the game pad he used in the beginning is a 'gamesir usb-c controller' and I absolutely recommend it. Ive put mine through hell and it still plays like day 1.
@@Lennatron no problem at all. So much easier to hold and with the fingerprint sensor on the right easier to log on than my note 9. All l had to do was rearrange the front app icons.
This a very thorough review! I have had my fold 4 for a couple of weeks now. I love it and i am coming from years on years of iphone use. I am very satisfied and excited about this Fold 4!
Was one of the skeptical people for these foldables. But after making the jump and using Fold 4 for a month, I can definitely say going back to regular smartphones will be hard. I love 1 handing it when folded, and when unfolded, reading, playing games, watching videos feel amazing!
@@Zamaric I got the Galaxy S9+ 2 days after it came out and I'm still using it right now. The back glass is cracked but otherwise it runs perfectly. I could just be lucky but all of my old Samsung phones still work even my S5.

Had the note 10 plus since September 2019 and very happy to have made the switch....BUT I'm hoping the fold 5 comes with Built in s pen Slimmer design Bigger battery Improved inside camera Larger build, preferably the width of a Note 10 plus... I think foldables still have a long way to go until most people agree on the best combination of all those wish list items as well as price. But for now we enjoy what's out right now and the Fold 4 is a blast! Right there with you with the multitasking and struggling to keep hands off it lol
I totally agree with everything you said, seeing as I also had the Note 10 plus and upgraded to the Z Fold 4 at pre-order. At first I was not sure about having a front display so small in comparison, but then I was like, "just open the phone." Plus I am actually enjoying the ability to text and navigate the smaller screen without opening up my palm and loosely holding a phone with one hand to reach the far side.
Great review. I really appreciate you comparing it to all the older generations and the 13 Pro Max as I own the Z Fold 2 and 13 Pro Max. I might look to upgrade to the 4 after this video.
Purchased from best buy in the US, with Verizon and Best Buy trade-ins and sale. The fold 4 cost me 300, est value ever. As an iPhone/iPad user I love this phone.
I do really like my fold 3, and use it for everything including art, and digital sculpting. I have a tough case with pen holder, but wish new modern flagship phones came with a matt anti glare screen..
I am getting mine delivered Monday, I am very excited and appreciate the videos I have been watching. Thank you, I will get a screen protector for it today! Thanks again!
Really liked this Video, where you could easily See, that this Phone was really used for a while as a daily Driver! Also the comparison with the fold 3 was useful, especially for me when you opened the same content with comments. There I could see, that more words fit into one Line of the fold 4, so it is really wider and more usable👍
I have had my Fold 4 almost a month too but no scratches. How abusive are you being to have all those scratches? Took mine on a vacation too where there was tons of outdoor activities as well.
Mine was definitely heavily used and abused over the past month, using it a lot everyday in all scenarios to get the best feel I can for it to produce this video. But at the bare minimum you will still get tiny scratches on the edges of the outer display from the outer screen rubbing against surfaces when you have the fold opened up on a table which is why I highly recommend the outer screen protector regardless of how careful/abusive you are to your Fold
@@ShaneSymonds I'm from Rochester, NY region so I've been there before. Knew I recognized it. Came across your video looking for a review in the Fold 4.
I was seriously looking at the first Fold. Now with the 4, I'm looking at it now. Had the Note 10+ past couple of years. Now It's s-pen capable. Ah, I'm a one-finger typists. Screen size should be no problem. After several years of Samsungs, Note 4, 8, 10+, and s8 and s21, I'm ready for something new. I have this old tired tablet, I can finally retire. Loving the new features, and I can still have a s-pen with my phone. Truthfully honest, I don't know what to really use it for. I don't have a business, even though I wanted to have a hauling business.
Yo dude. Lol totally unrelated to the tech but I am just curious if you are located in NY by any chance? It’s totally okay if you don’t feel comfortable answering that but I am just curious because those waterfalls and gorges look a lot like the ones where I grew up in the Finger Lakes region. Anyway, great review!
@@Lennatron hi mate yeah it does but I type a lot and use a,lot the huge screen when unfolded. Like I've said a great piece of tech and can only see these devices getting better. Hopefully rollables coming in not too distant future
Now this is a real review without casing and protection. I wanted to see how durable this fold 4 is considering im currently using. But at the same time i want to know which area I should be more careful. Ive havent put any screen protector on the cover because im using a case that is not screen protector friendly
Wow just searched this phone and for the first time I found a person who is close to me. I've been to all those places multiple time. Seneca, and Watkins Glen love the falls so gorgeous. Best of luck in your TH-cam career.
Had fold 1,2 and now 4. Such an amazing phone. I always got Samsung Notes until the folds but I couldn't go back to a regular phone. How is Apple still in business?
Till this day I still own my iPhone 2G. I just switched from my iPhone 12 pro max to the zfold 4. And I love this phone. I used to carry around my iPhone and my iPad to get both experiences and this phone does it all and the best thing about it is that it uses a usb c so that's only cable. If apple would of had ubc support on the iPhone 14 I probably would have stayed because that purple is very attractive but I am happy with my lavender fold 4 512gb. Super beast I'd say.
Just upgraded to a s22 ultra due to the better price. woke up this morning rung them back up again cancelled the s22 ultra and await the the fold 4 sucking up the price just can't say no can't wait till it comes. Looks amazing
Thank you for your review.. I have been using iPhone since the first iPhone ever but I, so done and for the first time since then, I’m switching to Android!
do urself a favor, if ur going to go with the big dogs and get a fold phone make sure u get a unicorn beetle case to keep it safe. hands down the best cases for these phones
People crying about the camera arent the people this phone is meant for. Enjoy your iphone or s22. The things you can do on this phone far outweigh the camera being SLIGHTLY behind other latest phones. I love watching YT, scrolling FB, chatting in discord all at the same time on a large beautiful screen. And ofcourse with this bein the best foldable out . Android and iphone users alike will want to know..." what is that" ☺️ and im always more than happy to show them why they shud stop spending money for the same device on repeat. Every fold ive ever owned has broken ( black interior screen) 😂 i am way too active and can be careless at times . Then i watch 50 videos on what new phone should i buy...and after s22 and iphone bore me to death.. the fold always makes its way home. Too versatile, too " cool" just expensive 🤣 worth it
Love this phone, noticed that occasionally I get a clicking when closing the phone right before it closes.........seems common enough, easy fix is to run finger down the crease when it's open and then it magically goes away. I also notice it makes a ever so slight noise when opening fully sometimes, like plastic sticking to glass. Have you noticed any of these?
Did yours come with a sticker over the hinge? Some are saying it did, mine did not.....hope the sticker didn't somehow get wedged in there - also, GREAT REVIEW :)
@@boo8093 Oooph, yeah I'm not sure what to do.....it works and seems ok, but the clicking when closing seems like the hinge just seizing a bit. When I open it, right before it's fully open, I hear a faint "Frrrrrrik"...not sure if that's anything major or not. Heard someone say run it under filtered water and open/close the hinge a few times.....but that terrifies me with this phone lol
I bought this phone from Samsung and used it for two weeks before returning it because I felt that the price tag was too much for what you were getting and there were also some minor downsides that came along with it over my S22 (mainly that it's heavy and thick, narrow front display). But then I found this phone in auction unlocked 512GB with S-Pen, case and Watch5 Pro and I won the auction for $1,225 which is INSANE. If I can get $400 for the watch it means I got this phone with S-Pen for $825 which is just NUTS. So yeah, I'm very happy I returned the other one to Samsung. The price is too high but it is possible to get a very good deal for it on eBay and then it becomes worth it I think.
Did u experienced any paint peel of? Mine was peeled a little only after 2 weeks. I surely took it very well but still peel off.. my older phone didn't peel of so easily
I really want one...but I'm a construction worker (electrician) and it just doesn't seem it was meant to be. I carry my phone in my back pocket, which I think would lead to a crunched phone and I think the fold is like too thick. Also, sometimes there is dust. Oh well, should have stayed in school. ;) I'm still on my S20 Ultra.
Wait do you feel that after updating your Fold 4, battery life has decreased? Cause that's why I didn't upgrade mine. I need to hear some feedback about it first
@@TomerShemesh yeah i am on this one. I bought my device on 9th of this month and updated whatsoever was available. This means if i go to the service centre, they can downgrade it to your build version and i would be what i should have been.
Great review, very much in agreement. Had mine since it launched and I am surprised how much I love it considering I was a big fold sceptic. The pro's on this... The battery is great considering it is using the equivalent of two screens at once on the inner screen, the s pen works flawlessly (would of been nice if built in), I absolutely LOVE the new update on the browser using tabs like a PC or tablet as well as the bottom task bar, the fact there is so much customisation/settings to play with, the flex mode when watching videos or using video calls, when folded is very comfy to hold despite it's heavy weight. And yes my wife has the iPhone pro max 3 as well and it's not that far off in weight... just holding her phone feels alot more awkward and uncomfortable. To top it off the amount of freebies I got with this thing is insane, easily in the $500 mark as well as knowing in 2 years time I can get an even bigger discount trading this in is very comforting. The cons.... I feel like if I don't have a full cover on this thing is will meet it's death with even one low drop to a concrete floor. No integrated S pen, I've heard that samsung don't cover damage to the inner screen if it cracks etc so make sure you're covered elsewhere, the dust that gets trapped inside this thing after being in my pocket is insane and yes that CREASE! I don't like rubbing my finger over it I'm constantly paranoid it gets bigger every day but as far as seeing it I actually don't notice it 90% of the time. It's the trade off you get for now with it being waterproof it has to come with that crease until tech catches up. I've not had the best history with samsung phones in the past and I said I never wanted to go back to them again but as long as this one holds up like it is then it will be my first great experience with them.
Thank you for a great review. My SSG Galaxy S10+ finally lost its power button--literally fell out. So I need a new replacement. SIDENOTE: you sound JUST like the Minecraft TH-camr SalC1. Voice doppelganger vibes.
Hey Shane, I reckon you've watched the video from Mrwhosetheboss talking about the Samsung battery expanding in old, stored phones. He even said his Z Fold 2 had its battery expanded. I wonder if yours has too? It would be really interesting to see this situation fold out.
Sir you didn't show can we do texting while opening like tablets my concern is if someone has eye sight problems so can someone do taxting while open like tablet and texts are bold or larger size?
I appreciate the review. great video! (referring to the price every 5 mins starts to detracts from the value of your review starting with the 2nd time you mentioned it) - you are right though its a factor.

I ordered mine this morning. I can't wait to have mine in a week! 😍
I do really like my fold 3, and use it for everything including art, and digital sculpting. I have a tough case with pen holder, but wish new modern flagship phones came with a matt anti glare screen..
What is the mario game in 9:59 ?
Love the way you shoot you're videos and the resloution of the content simply perfect
I still have my fold 2. It's still going strong. Battery, etc. are still great.
I am getting mine delivered Monday, I am very excited and appreciate the videos I have been watching. Thank you, I will get a screen protector for it today! Thanks again!

Love OSRS being featured throughout this video, definitely the best use case lol
what was that video game joy stick? where can I get that?
Really liked this Video, where you could easily See, that this Phone was really used for a while as a daily Driver! Also the comparison with the fold 3 was useful, especially for me when you opened the same content with comments. There I could see, that more words fit into one Line of the fold 4, so it is really wider and more usable👍
It definitely is more usable!
Thanks for the excellent review. But now I want to know where is that cool river site you went and did the photoshoot.
May I ask at 4:57, and 7:53, what was the place you guys at, pretty waterfall and the environment( please tell me)for that view, I might get a fold 4.
What was that 2d scrolling game he was playing on the cover screen? At 2:34?
I upgraded from a Note 9 to this and I haven't had this much fun with a phone since the time I got my first smart phone back in 2010.
Great video Shane Where did you get that game controller would like to get one for my fold
Does the crease wear down the screen over time?
Can I buy screen protector for when it’s open ?

Omg you play RuneScape. Subscribed!
Where you at Watkins Glen Gorge in this video?
Yes!
@@ShaneSymonds I'm from Rochester, NY region so I've been there before. Knew I recognized it. Came across your video looking for a review in the Fold 4.
Saw the runescape multitasking, i am sold
Great Review. But are we not going to talk about how he was playing a Nintendo Switch game on it at the beginning of the video?
Great review!! Am a little skeptical about the camera
But definitely getting one thanks for some great points on this video
What controller add-on did you use there for playing games? Great video btw.
So far the best phone I have had in a few years. And I have barely delved into it

Nice video! I've had mine 3 weeks and I love it. I've got big fingers so the outer screen is taking some getting used to for typing.

Is the inside screen durable? I really want one but in concerned that the inner screen can easily crack
Just got mine. This phone is truly amazing. Feels like a million buck in my hands.
What is that controller that was attached to the sides in a few shots? It looks like it actually works pretty well
Nevermind, was able to find it. It's the gamesir X2. Something in that product line
Can somebody please tell me the name of this videogame? 2:33
should get the fold 4 or waiting for the fold5? I will be using it for at least 4 years
U saved my life, thank you for this offer. I just canceled my order to use your link, and reorder.
Just got my fold 4 yesterday and I'm happy with it just need a case asap

Fantastic video as usual Shane. I'm loving my new fold 4 since I swapped from s22u aswell
Hi Jamie, does take time to get use to the narrowness when it's folded? I'd be going from an S21+
Liquid glass might be a good solution.
Nice video but how did you do to play mario striker on it i want to play mario striker on my phone plz tell me !!!
What is the game youre playing at 7:15 please 🙏
Very complete review and OMG how can you cope with those scratches lol? I'd be in hospital ☺️☺️
I noticed you used a game controller on it at one point. Is it compatible with the Razer Kishi?
Wow just searched this phone and for the first time I found a person who is close to me. I've been to all those places multiple time. Seneca, and Watkins Glen love the falls so gorgeous. Best of luck in your TH-cam career.
Hi great review. What's the name of the game remote you're using in the video. I looked into backbone but they're not out until November. Thanks
Had fold 1,2 and now 4. Such an amazing phone. I always got Samsung Notes until the folds but I couldn't go back to a regular phone. How is Apple still in business?
Can you do a vid on how to set up knox management. I download the app. But it’s saying I need a tenant Id?
I've had mine for about 3 weeks and it's been great!

Did you get it eventually? How has it been?
In my region it's being sold for $1415 for the 256GB version. I'm really thinking of trading my current phone to get the Fold4
That's a great price at this point in time
Thank you for your review.. I have been using iPhone since the first iPhone ever but I, so done and for the first time since then, I’m switching to Android!
👆thanks for watching and feedback, congratulations you won the surprise giveaway package of Galaxy Buds2, telegram only to claim your prize 👆👆⬆️⬆️🎁🎁🎁🎁
Same how you like yours ?
I had used iPhone too but I really like android better.
I love the realism and it's soo big . It gives me computer vibez and as a entrepreneur it help soooooo much better .
I'm actually surprised that coming from the note that I use the cover screen too.
do urself a favor, if ur going to go with the big dogs and get a fold phone make sure u get a unicorn beetle case to keep it safe. hands down the best cases for these phones
Very useful, thorough review, thanks Shayne
Too versatile, too " cool" just expensive 🤣 worth it
I got it for $400 with student discount
When typing, you should use swipe. It's faster.
The reason they didn't put a cover on it, it's Gorilla Glass now.
Mine did that too after few days of use. I returned it due to that cracking sound at opening.
I'M SO EXCITED FOR MINE! It comes in a few days and I can't wait 😭
I traded in my s21 ultra for $1k off the fold 4
I pre-ordered and got the 512 GB, $200 Samsung credit and the S-Pen case for $899 with trade in.
Did u experienced any paint peel of? Mine was peeled a little only after 2 weeks. I surely took it very well but still peel off.. my older phone didn't peel of so easily
Looks like Watkins Glen🤘good video.
Hows the hinge on your fold ? I have mine for like a month and it feels a little bit loose compare for when i got the phone, is this a normal thing ?
Watching xxx aywhere better than ever. Looks great the foldable screen has advanced a lot can wait to get it.
Great in depth review! Please make one for the z flip 4.
I really want one...but I'm a construction worker (electrician) and it just doesn't seem it was meant to be. I carry my phone in my back pocket, which I think would lead to a crunched phone and I think the fold is like too thick. Also, sometimes there is dust. Oh well, should have stayed in school. ;)
I'm still on my S20 Ultra.
Great review keep up the good job
Battery life decreased after update?
I can't get more than 4-4.5 hrs sot on normal usage..
Wait do you feel that after updating your Fold 4, battery life has decreased? Cause that's why I didn't upgrade mine. I need to hear some feedback about it first
@@TomerShemesh how much sot do u manage? And which update is currently popping up for u?
@@aaaa222211110000
It says "Version F936BXXU1AVHH / F936BOXM1AVHH / F936BXXU1AVHH "
@@TomerShemesh yeah i am on this one.
I bought my device on 9th of this month and updated whatsoever was available.
This means if i go to the service centre, they can downgrade it to your build version and i would be what i should have been.
Maybe it is until the AI understands your usage better?
Are you going to review the Galaxy watch 5?
Just got that 512gb upgrade for 799 lol came up huge!
What screen protector ?
The phone Is pretty cool but what's the DAC like since there's no headphone jack I'm curious on how it sounds.
I wamna start vlogging what samsung phone would you say is the best
Thank you for a great review. My SSG Galaxy S10+ finally lost its power button--literally fell out. So I need a new replacement.
SIDENOTE: you sound JUST like the Minecraft TH-camr SalC1. Voice doppelganger vibes.
Ayyyyy first thing I thought about when seeing this phone was osrs!
Yes you can most definitely text on the tablet with larger keys
@@ShaneSymonds thanks
the mario soccer game?what game is that?can i purcase it from samsung or it comes together?
