I got my Fold4 yesterday. It's great. I think it has better battery life than my galaxy s10. I'm loving the big screen. I'm not bothered by the crease nearly as much as I've been warned by youtubers. It's just not a problem at all with normal use. The size and weight also isn't bothering me as much as I thought. It's not slim like a normal candybar phone, but it still fits fine in the pocket and sits pretty well in there. Maybe a slim form factor isn't actually that important for me with a phone like this. If I went with a cheaper phone I'd want it to be smaller so that I could forget about it, but I like that this phone has more presence.

I am looking forward to getting this phone. The Z Fold4 is for those who want a phone and tablet in one device. The outer display being narrow can be a positive for those who want to use the phone one handed.
Did a lot of research on Fold 4 specs and then got an offer for a Fold 3 half price just before Fold 4 launch. I went for the Fold 3 and coming from a traditional iPhone 11, I do not believe I can ever go back! Main camera might not be 50 or 108 mpx, just 11, but still great quality! And that unfolded screen for the first time makes a phone a productivity tool for me.
@@asianstud7 I have a belt carry case and the Fold 3 fits it fine. I even have a protective case with room for the pen. Yes, surely heavier but in a belt I dont notice. The case also creates a "handle" on the Fold 3 when opened, so its still very easy to hold with one hand.
@@asianstud7 I just got mine today. I'm coming from a iPhone 12 pro max. Doesn't seem to much different to me. The Fold 4 is nothing short of Amazing. Apple needs to keep up
I got my fold 4 in beige last Friday and I've been loving it since. For me, the front screen isn't too narrow because I have small hands, but that's just me. I feel so cool and get so many stares. The clap when closing is SOOO satisfying omg! I absolutely love it! Con: I hate that my fingers touch the cover screen when unfolded.. OCD and fingerprints.. but that's just me.
Just got my Fold 4 today after doing a trade in deal with my Fold 3 and aside from the pleasantly wider aspect ratio of both screens, one of the first things I noticed is just how much more subtle the crease is. Most reviewers haven't noted this much since it is definitely still there and visually it almost looks the same, but to the touch you can barely feel it when running your finger or s pen across it, whereas with the Fold 3 it was extremely prominent to the point of messing up drawing/ writing across it, but not on the Fold 4. Nice.
Coming from a Note 9. These slight tweaks helped me decide to upgrade this year. The main screen is just wide enough this year. I thought it was too narrow last year. Really liking it after a day of use.
After getting used to the phone. I love it ❤️ it's so versatile. I think it's easier to hold then the s22u. And I like using the front screen too. It stops me from wasting time when I'm working. And the keyboard feels like I'm typing on Blackberry on the front because of its size.
I've got one and absolutely love it. Bought it to replace my fold 3, and although it doesn't feel like a huge update, Samsung offered me £720 back for my fold 3 which meant the upgrade cost under £900. Whilst I can't recommend the phone to anyone due to the price, I can recommend it to tech enthusiasts (such as myself) that are interested in owning and using the latest cutting Edge technology and don't mind paying a premium. I'm historically a Note user (had the Note 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, and 10) but I could never go back the that form factor (S22 Ultra I guess) as I'm just so bored with it. Every time I've used my Fold phones in public, they've always got attention from random people who want to see one in the flesh. I absolutely think more people would have one if the price point was more in line with the iPhone and Galaxy S flagships
Mine should arrive tomorrow morning. I'm excited. Great trade in deal. Actually getting more for my phone through the trade in than what I paid for it originally.
I was looking to get a Fold for several months now, but the bad battery performance and the oldish cameras have put me off, so far. So I'm very pleased to see improvements in these areas and I love my fold 4 so far. Especially the cameras had to be at least very good to make me switch, since I have small kids, and I don't want to miss any moments because of bad camera quality.
I just got my fold 4 yesterday and personally am absolutely loving it am glad I got it. But I do agree with Tom on a few things like the outer display is too thin and small for my liking I wish they could have made it a 21.9 6.7 inch display and personally for the inner display i personally would have preferred it bigger. I also wish they could have added an MEMC chip , Dolby vision and 45W charging. And for the price it should have had the S22 ultra cameras and an included fast changer. But I honestly do hope next year it will have some of these features !!
I`m going from a 6.5 inch 21:9 xperia 1 MK 2 to the fold 4 today. And i agree it's a little too narrow. We needed at least full 21:9 aspect ratio on this. Most of tik-tok and the TH-cam tik-tok style videos are clipped off due to the narrow size. The inner display could likewise be bigger to make this whole folding tech "more worth it" The fact it doesn't have a charger in the box doesn't matter to me, i have so many charging bricks, docking stations, desk chargers etc. i honestly don't need more to collect dust. Still. I`ll give this a go and see if it can boost my productivity for certain scenario' s where i would normally lug around a surface go 2 for tethered studio shooting -> editing and publishing + some comic reading and conferences on Teams. If i can lose the go 2 for that it`ll be worth it.
I wouldn't mind the outer screen being bigger either. I really only open my fold for media consumption but calls and texts and other crap, I use the outer.
@@PapaSanch97 until then and them adding the spen the cost isnt worth it on fold 4 i mean i got a galaxy book pro 360 i can use for all my other stuff lol
same, i think that the trade in value was to good to pass up. I love my ultra, best phone I have ever owned. Time to try something new and if i dont like it... return it
I pre ordered the fold 4 and did the trade in of my s22u. I had second thoughts on letting go of my s22u. I found the fold 3 $700 off which is $150 more andI don't have to give my s22u. Once I get both I will make my decision on which one to keep.
Swapped my note 20 ultra for the fold 4. Some may say the note is a superior phone. Better camera, bigger battery, higher PPI screen. But it still doesn't beat the fold for my use case. I love it and I won't be switching back.

You should clarify which S-pen can be used as a remote shutter, as it's NOT the Fold Edition. Meaning, just about any other remote shutter is probably a more practical choice considering the price and size of the S-pen Pro.
All your comments are spot on. It is a powerhouse however it has its own audience and shouldn't be the go to unless you either know what you buy or what you need. I bought it on day one as helps me working on the go and I deal with tons of email, schedules, messages and documents to potentially edit or sign. I have specific use cases which makes this best solution. Split view, battery and all the gestures are the thing I'm loving the most. As you mentioned, I also prefer the full stretched keyboard (SwiftKey) as the middle of the screen isn't far to reach. Anyway this is a great device despite being quite huge brick (especially with the standing case with pen). Cheers
Camera is definitely flagship level. Looks amazing to me. Great phone all together but not quite fur me yet. Waiting for the front screen to get bigger and phone to get a lil thinner
Got mine today and I"m still playing around with the features. I was in love the Note Series but moved from that to an S21+. That is a great phone and has served me well but, as a certified geek about to embark on a PhD, I felt that this was a great opportunity to get something high spec, that will help me with my productivity
I found myself using the front screen a lot more that I thought I would be. When texting on the front screen, I turn the phone into landscape mode so it gives you more room to text. Loving it so far.
I decided to get one can't wait for Friday! Never had a folding phone before, thought there had been enough gens out to get one, coming from the s22 ultra which is a great phone.
Fold is not ready until: 1. S pen is stored within the body of the phone 2. Camera as good as S ultra series 3. Crease to be less visible. I always considered the current folds as beta version for those enthusiast to buy and be the guinea pig. Till then I'm haply with my s22 ultra.
I'm searching the internet for a review of the Fold 4 as a productivity device. How good is it for MS Teams, Outlook running side by side, simple edits on Word etc....all I get is young tech millennials showing me what it is like for gaming, taking pictures with multi-tasking meaning multiple social media windows. I'd assume most purchases will be for cashed digital nomads like me who need to get work done. thank you for the review regardless.
Had my fold 4 since last friday and love the better battery life than the fold 3, put a thin ringke case on for now but mostly used my fold 3 with no case
Watching this on my Grey green Fold4. Switched from 8 mos of use of Fold3 to this. I just love it. Not going back to the 'normal' ones. You're right tho, not gonna recommend this to just anybody, but if you're like me who doesn't mind the price and always excited to use a bigger screen? Then go for it. You'll love it. Anyway, great video! 👍
Cant wait to get mine, loved the fold 2 and the upgrade is just going to make the experince more awesome. Those who havent used one have no idea what it means to use a fold. You have to use it to believe it
Here in the US we get decent incentives on this phone. I picked up one for the price of a regular flagship and that's mainly because my trade-in had a small crack. Others are getting these phones for under $1000. IMO, the ZFold series are step above everything else on the market in terms of versatility. The cams are excellent (from my own experience), as are the screens. Also, you can comfortably browse in desktop mode which really helps when I need to research something on the go.
Loved your review! Just received my Fold 4 yesterday and I love it. Upgraded from the S21 Ultra so first venture into foldable phones. Couldn't resist the $925 trade in for the phone.
I'm in the States but I really like your reviews. Gives me pause to consider my options. There are a few differences like the Fold4 5G and a couple other things. Bottom line. Your reviews are great. ps. And you don't have that British accent cause I can comprehend what you're saying. 😂
I am still watching this but I know the content is rich Samsung really stepped up their game in the Z Fold 4, I am really happy. And it literally beats the S22 Ultra in battery life 🤯
Got mine about 4 days ago, and I'm loving it! First time Fold user here, coming from the S21 Ultra (Exynos), and I'm blown away by the battery life of the Fold 4. It's just as good as my S21 Ultra was, if not better - getting 7-8 hours of screen-on time at least, which is insane! I got a very good deal from my local network provider, so I'm not really feeling the high price tag. As far as functionality and size goes, I found that I actually much prefer the Fold's folded slim profile - it sits perfectly in hand and feels confident for one-handed use when on the go, while it also has the option to unfold into a glorious tablet, once I finally sit down and dive in to work, gaming or whatever. I guess the Fold is one of those things you don't really *need*, until you try it out and get used to all this versatility. Damn... I don't think I'm going back to regular slab phones after this! 😅
Hi, I currently have s21 Ultra and really love it, especially the cameras. Do you notice the dip in quality in the Fold camera? With the s23 coming with 200mp I'm not sure if I should wait

I have one on the way. I should be able to pick it up at the end of the week. I'm really excited because I'm visually impaired and the large screen could really help me out.
Got the Fold 4 for the wife and the S22 Ultra for myself. Videos on the cover screen of the Fold is too small. If used in tablet mode, aspect ratio is off and the video can't fill the whole screen w/out cropping. That along with the lower quality camera (compared to the S22 Ultra) are my only downsides. Otherwise, it is more comfortable to hold and use compared to my S22 Ultra. The speakers are also punchier on the Fold 4. Overall, both are great phones. Get the Fold if you want a phone with a "wow-factor" that's fun to use. S22 Ultra if you want something more sensible with the correct screen aspect ratio.
Waiting on my pre order this Friday Seems everyone is trying it out and many good reviews Still keeping my s20 ultra as a backup just in case . which i dont have an issue with it so far
Coming from an LGv60 duel screen I was pretty happy with the fold4. Would prefer it if it was a bit wider (regular large phone width when closed and larger when open, like the duel screen LG).
Some of yall need to go through the pain we went through with the first razor phones and sidekicks. I got my z fold 4 and I love it, and as far as a case goes..Its basically a safe gaurd

Mine's coming in the mail on Thursday. Can't wait. Will be my first foldable phone. I got $925 trade in credit for my phone towards it so it was a good deal.
Interesting. I found it to be terrible on Fold - no split layout, very basic clipboard funcionality, difficult to change languages. Samsung keyboard (for Fold at least) is a lot better and faster in terms of productivity for me as advanced user.
Financed mine through Verizon and between the premium plan and deposit it was only 450ish bucks. Upgrading from the budget A32. So for me any flagship would be a huge upgrade. But I always held off waiting for a phone I could truly get excited about. And this is it. I'm hyped to draw on the go
Did you test the screen on time on WiFi or 5G ? Using data effects the battery big time. I notice not many TH-camrs specify I'd the battery time is a result of WiFi or on SIM data
Just received mine. Not even out of the box yet. I will say if paying full price I'm not sure it is worth it, but with the pre order deals I was able to trade in my S22 ultra and get the fold 4, watch 5 44mm, case and duel wireless charging pad for less then $700 US.
Moved from the fold 3 to the fold 4. Feel most reviewers haven't used a fold 3 daily to appreciate the difference and honestly think the fold 4's front screen is big enough to warrant a upgrade.
I ordered my phone on august 15 was supposed to get it on launch date august 26 :) i had it on the 17 ( while I was wishing that my order to be delayed since I'm still in love with my note 20U). You do very fine and cheerful reviews. May I suggest: 1. Adding stylus review, both usage and housing. Many writers, artists, scientists, mathematicians, engineers, architects etc like free form expression unconstrained by keyboard. Do keep this in mind. 2. Do add reviews of protective cases. 3. Do compare with other competitors, say the Microsoft Surface DUO 2. Thanks!
Don't be. The fold 4 is a 1,5 day battery for me. 2 days if i work from home and not rely a lot on 5G , but still use it alot for teams conferences and other stuff.

Just got one today. I am a big multi-tasking junky, i travel a lot. So my thinking is if i can replace my surface go 2 for what i use that for on the go with the fold 4 then that saves me bringing an extra device around. I'm not sure if the fold 4 will deliver and its just better to go with 2 seperate devices that are each best at what they do . But, since with the insane trade-in deals Samsung does, a 20% off coupon via my bank, and having sold a previous phone (Xperia 1 MK2 which i have for 2,5 years) . a 512GB fol 4 is only setting me back 540 euro's. It's well worth the try. If i don't like it io can bring it back in 30 days to get my money back or sell it for a profit and get the Xperia 1 MK 4 instead. But buying this at full price ? No. Having said that. There are a lot of people who buy iphone pro's at 512GB or even 1TB so that's already a fold 4 at it's full retail price. It's not *that* much more expensive if you pair it up to apple's top-end.
Yes, it is a lot of money but I think its worth it for the technology. Samsung promotions (UK) also means that the Samsung Starter Kit and Buds2 Pro are included in the sale. You just have to claim them from the website.
I'm waiting delivery of mine which is in 2 days! I'm upgrading from the S10 plus but not sure I've selected the right phone after seeing your review. Oh well, we'll just have to wait and see....
i really missed the power finger print sensor of the fold after I switched to the galaxy s22 ultra. I hope the fold 5 has a bigger and low bezel outer screen and a higher resolution inner screen to see more content.
I have a fold 2 with a battery on its last leg. This is the time and model for an upgrade for me! I'll be more inclined to use the split screen for my productivity because it's easier to access with the Taskbar. Definatly the right time to upgrade for me.
@@Thetechchap That would be a great debate,, the real value of a phone,, to me it's priceless,, it does everything at this stage,, really hard to put a price on it.
I switched from 3 to 4 and I can say that the 4 is much better, even though everyone said its not worth switching. Due to some circumstances, the screen on my Fold 3 broke, and since a new one is 600 Euros, it was more logical for me to switch to 4. It has a better and larger both front and internal screen, the difference is obvious..the battery is better and faster charging..the phone itself is smaller, lighter, a better camera. The crease which was obvious on the 3 is now almost invisible. I am really satisfied and this time I paid for screen insurance, which I recommend to everyone
Switched from the Fold2 (after Fold1) and god it since 2 days. Its 100%worth every cent. Better Screen, crease almost gone now, better build quality, far better cameras and new multitasking is very very good for a power use, outside screen is far better but not perfect yet. But as I always say, we need a Ultra Version of the Fold. Periscope Zoom Lens, large Outside screen and 8.1 inside. But overall a great phone and a far better experience then any Candybar phone could ever offer.

I feel like one of the best text inputs was predictive text, using the 10-button number pad layout. It's a shame that's not an option on Android. I just use swipe input nowadays.
Wait a bit longer before buying one. That is my two cents on it. I have the Fold 4 and I wouldn't recommend it. Maybe Fold 5. We will have to wait and see
Coming from an exynos 990 Note 20 Ultra, this phone has been so much fun to use. There are things to get used to, like a technically worse camera system (hardware wise) and the heavier weight, but the performance and battery life is just so much better with this phone. The Snapdragon 8+ gen1 makes this phone very snappy, and it doesn't get as hot. At least in Australia, I was able to get the education discount, which got me around $600 off, which is really good considering I am not trading in anything. Just hope the durability holds up.
I guess I got lucky. 19 months ago I got my LG Wing (A phone I just LOVE!), for free. LG had just announced they were not going to make phones and the LG phone I wanted was sold out. So, Sprint gave me a Wing for free. Yesterday, Sprint said they would give me a $1,000 credit for my Wing toward the Z Fold 4. And, to sweeten the pot, they through in an S-Pen and a 10 person WiFi hotspot. So, I can't complain. If the Z Fold 4 is half of what you just described, I will be very happy with it.

Nice.
how long did you have the fold 3 for ? and did the screen hold out for the entire time ?
@@SKILLS4FRILLS Since January, and mostly, though it did develop a small crack near the bottom.
The crease is the same, you notice a difference because it has a new screen protector, if you change the one from the Fold 3 it looks better too
@@RigherGo No, the dip, the actual measurable amount the crease dips down below the rest of the display, is considerably lessened.
Do you prefer the fold 3 camera over the 4? Or was there no difference to you?
As I'm holding my new Z Fold 4, I say yes it's worth it. Silky smooth in all aspects.
Coming from a Note 9. These slight tweaks helped me decide to upgrade this year. The main screen is just wide enough this year. I thought it was too narrow last year. Really liking it after a day of use.
I'm still holding onto my Note 9😬... do you still like your Fold since you left your comment?
@@melannfab loving it. No complaints.
@@Brisco_County_Jr Sweet, thanks!
Let's hope they'll make an A line of folds
If i can lose the go 2 for that it`ll be worth it.
me barely using the big screen and mainly using the outer display is the reason i went from z fold 3 to z flip 4 and i love it
I wouldn't mind the outer screen being bigger either. I really only open my fold for media consumption but calls and texts and other crap, I use the outer.
@@PapaSanch97 until then and them adding the spen the cost isnt worth it on fold 4 i mean i got a galaxy book pro 360 i can use for all my other stuff lol

Did the exact same thing
The important thing for me is an improved battery life. I hope this Samsung Fold has a great one!!
Yeah that's a very welcome improvement. ALthough the Flip is an even bigger step up this year
Swapped my note 20 ultra for the fold 4. Some may say the note is a superior phone. Better camera, bigger battery, higher PPI screen.
But it still doesn't beat the fold for my use case. I love it and I won't be switching back.
Guys, rly, why none told that there is a 90% chance that your inner screen will crack in 6-9 months max if it will be a main phone? I am Fold 3 owner and during last 13 months since i got it already 2nd!!!!! Replacement of inner screen.... funny story😁. 1st time after about 6 months and second time the same... 5-6 months... Screen is cracking witjout any reasons. No damages, no drops... I think everybody should know and keep in mind that.
Waiting for my Fold 4 to be delivered, traded in my S22 Ultra for £820, so the 256GB fold 4 cost me just shy of £830. Can't wait!
Ordered mines yesterday! Comes with the Watch 5 as well - hoping its an easy move over from iOS
You should clarify which S-pen can be used as a remote shutter, as it's NOT the Fold Edition. Meaning, just about any other remote shutter is probably a more practical choice considering the price and size of the S-pen Pro.
Good point!
Got the fold 4 to replace my pixel 6 Pro. Very disappointed with the camera. Faces looks morphed sometimes. Need to do some more shooting this weekend
That small decrease in the bezel does make a huge difference. This is actually the first fold I'd consider to buy.
Already got one. Loving it
My biggest issue with the fold 3 was the cameras... they solved that problem for me with the fold 4 like night and day love it!
Our phone carrier offered $450 off per z fold if preordered. Me and my wife are excited for them to arrive.
I decided to get one can't wait for Friday! Never had a folding phone before, thought there had been enough gens out to get one, coming from the s22 ultra which is a great phone.
Fold is not ready until:
1. S pen is stored within the body of the phone
2. Camera as good as S ultra series

Just pre ordered one and I'm only 18.
I always wated a foldable since the Fold 3, just didn't have the money to get one. Now I do, so I got one😁.
Even with winter depression a background like that make it almost worth it to live in UK. Cheers, thank you for the review.

We've already got to the point with foldables where they've started to just do incremental upgrades each year.
Lack of competition in the market
Do you expect drastic changes year in year out?
Amazing quality and colouring on your video.
Fold 3's are going for $800 on Amazon now for international unlocked models. Not bad and will be even less by December.

I'm hyped to draw on the go
Finally a decent chip for Androids.
Did you test the screen on time on WiFi or 5G ? Using data effects the battery big time. I notice not many TH-camrs specify I'd the battery time is a result of WiFi or on SIM data
Just received mine. Not even out of the box yet. I will say if paying full price I'm not sure it is worth it, but with the pre order deals I was able to trade in my S22 ultra and get the fold 4, watch 5 44mm, case and duel wireless charging pad for less then $700 US.

now that I have the fold 4 I forgot how much I love the smaller screen and the big screen is prefect . I use it as same as the N20U the battery last a bit longer.
my wish : is the main srceen if it was at least wide as the flip screen
I would love to see some app to for the DPI they are 2 apps that i use they look zoomed and these dev they don't even care been years that way when it comes to phablet and tablets.
so If someone has any hesitation , get the phone...
You do very fine and cheerful reviews. May I suggest:
Thanks!

On the fence about getting the Fold 4, or waiting until the Fold 5. The lack of a flagship camera is really disappointing.
I have a fold 2 with a battery on its last leg. This is the time and model for an upgrade for me! I'll be more inclined to use the split screen for my productivity because it's easier to access with the Taskbar. Definatly the right time to upgrade for me.
Really surprised you didn't like it,, most exciting thing to happen to phones in years,
Oh I do like it, i say I love it at the end.- but the Fold 3 does 95% of the same stuff. And it's just too expensive for most people.
