I got the green coating from the chineese GB and I didn't meet any ping or resonance in my keeb. But I do find that the spec with SS internal cover will produce some ping on any config. Also you could remove the 4 positioning screws that hold the plate, because I found them to produce worse sound and a slight ping as well. I went out of my way to make custom copper cover, copper internal weight and custom halfplate alu and full plate CF. And oh boy it SLAP. Anw great video! I hope you have a wonderful day
great review! appreciate the transparency! In your experience, how did the SS battery cover with SS internal weights fair against SS battery cover with Brass Internal Weights? Was there any noticeable sound difference? Thanks!
unfortunately I didn't get the brass internal weight. Personally I don't think it will huge difference since the sound is not reflecting off of the internal weight.
I've seen a couple resolutions for the potential spacebar issue from using a different switch for the spacebar to a modified plate and now this. Going to wait to get mine to see if I need to do anything to get it sounding nice, thanks for the honest review.
@@ScoopedBar I'm a tactile enjoyer and I have some bsun hutt's just waiting to be used. Board won't be here for a while though so i'll probably have some more switches to try by the time it arrives.
@@ScoopedBar its just that you have to pay more money for the options to get the best sounds whereas the kbd 8x mkiii sounds identical no matter the option
@@ScoopedBar Thanks Boss. now i'm thorn between Coated zeal or Void elf to match my GMK digital nightmares. will definitely add that Stainless steel battery cover and brass internal weight .
loved the transparent review !
thanks friend!
The transparency alone got me to subscribe. Thank you so much

Thanks for the review and honesty!

They sent me the alu internal battery cover so I will take that off and see if that helps!
Subscribed for the transparency! Any idea where we can check a review for the hall effect (magnetic) pcb?
@@leoneldb60 As far as I know no reviewers have received those yet!

thank for the honest review ~
Absolutely! It’s a great board and I look forward to the followup video when the replacement unit gets here!

I honestly really loved how it sounded after the force break. It's very crisp and clean with MX Black on PC.

Does soldered pcb have much better typing feel and sound than hotswap pcb?
@@truongvuonghuy6760 nah, nothing discernible in my experience
@@ScoopedBar Can you tell me which type of battery cover and internal weight should I choose to get good sound and cheap price?
@@truongvuonghuy6760 I would get the SS internal and battery cover.
@@ScoopedBar What material do you think I should choose for the keypad to have a clicky sound and a solid typing feel?
dang, i was going to get this over the kbd 8x mkiii, lucky i didn't, thank you for an honest review
Honestly, the force breaking fixing the issue was not bad at all!

@@medal_pedal the coating option with the ping is 10 dollars MORE than ano
Is there any update on the issue yet?
Not yet sadly. Still waiting and will definitely update as soon as we hear something!
Is it just me or I can't here any ping at all except for the bottom row which would certainly be annoying to type on
I can hear it only on my phone speaker but not so much on my earphones. It’s a very high pitched ping that sounds like you flicked a cheap metal fork.
Yea it's the most pronounced on the keys on the edges. On the alphas it's there but not as much.
why are you slamming into the keys? it seems like it wasn't pinging when you were just normally typing?
The ping was definitely there when I was typing normally, that's actually how I discovered it in the first place.
neo80 OR cycle8?
I would get the cycle8 personally. Better finish and the ball catch system is better on the Cycle8.

I need a cycle6
I would love a 60% or 65% from them!
TKD has said that the Cycle8 is the last Cycle from them. You can see the post on their Cycle8 GB on ZFrontier. I believe their next project is a 75%.
@@24GirlPanda I am super curious since it won't be a Cycle line, what they can do with a higher price point.
@@ScoopedBar It's supposed to be a Top Mount 75% so fingers crossed. There's some leaked images and it looks nice.

Soooooo Cycle7 is better innit
It is such a good board.
HOLLOW
That's why I recommend the heavier internal weight with SS battery cover if you prefer a fuller sounding profile.
