With the oil leak the least you can do is put dye color in the oil and check with a black light 🤷♂️. But I think that accident cause a lot of the other issues

But if I had to make an opinion, based on this video of why he sold it… My guess would be he just wanted and liked the new style more! I think he had an itch to get the newer Mustang for a while, and it was snowballing inside him😊.. And THEN These reasons in the video here we’re just adding and making his decision a little easier on selling it! It’s just so crazy how much can change in a short amount of time. I kind of took a break from social media car stuff for a while. . But I do remember seeing MG post about this Mustang maybe it was on Instagram instead..🤔. And I just figured the new Mustang was like a daily driver or something because didn’t you have a newer Honda Civic? I was just scrolling through your videos here and it looks like you may have sold that one as well because of that place that gave you a good offer ? I didn’t realize the terminator had to go in order to get the new mustang! 😮 was randomly scrolling through your videos today and saw that you did, and was kind of shocked lol Because he seems like a diehard terminator guy with the effort and time you put into some of the videos earlier on in the way you talked about it you could tell that you were loving the car ! And who knows what the story behind all that was about because he’s another person and doesn’t really put his information out there and kind of does things secretly😆. And I was actually pretty close with him. I figured we were friends, so I’m just surprise he didn’t even reach out to me at all or even just to talk car things and selling the car and stuff that’s like huge in my opinion I know when it came time for me to like do that type of thing and Cell stuff I talk to all my car buddies and.. idk.. I heard your first issue and had to comment,I've had my 03 for 13 years, love th. Noisy t56,I love every noise it makes especially the kennel bell.would never sell it.real car guy here.
They're not all like this, yours was wrecked and not put back together correctly. I'd rather have a 100,000 mile car vs one involved in a wreck with 40,000 miles. I'd say it probably wasn't' treated very well before you got it. All of these keyboard commandos claiming that you're not a real "car enthusiast" are talking out of their rear end. I agree with you 100 percent. Those body panel fitment issues would drive me crazy and would bother me. For those who say these are all "easy fixes" go right ahead and drop the K-member, front suspension, etc and drop the engine and transmission out to fix the oil leaks, replace the clutch or release bearing if you have long tubes. Don't worry about what they're saying, you stepped up to a killer new Mach 1 which is leaps and bounds better. I've always loved the Terminators, but you did the smart thing. Sometimes there is an emotional attachment with vehicles, but you have to do the "smart" thing before it snowballs into a financial disaster. I have decided to sell my beautiful Procharged 04 Mach 1, it's as clean as they get with some of the best mods. There is currently nothing wrong with the car, however given enough time I already know what awaits me down the road. I've enjoyed it and now it's time to let someone else enjoy it. Sometimes a smart financial decision is the way to go. Do you think the guys who are questioning if you're a real car enthusiast have a new Mach 1? Doubtful.
This was the most difficult decision I 've ever had to make in terms of selling a car. I honestly though I was going to keep this car for ever. Hopefully one day I'll own a 04 Terminator.
Totally feel you... You got a family and stuff too, having ice cold A/C and a solid new powertrain must be a breath of fresh air brother. Stay awesome broski. ❤
I’m surprise he didn’t bring up a lot of these issues early on with the car on this channel! Never would’ve guessed it didn’t have AC especially being in Florida, that’s crazy ! Well, at least if it did so happened that you were like really attached to the COBRA and it was that car for you those five things I feel like could be easily fixed. The AC was probably the biggest thing and there’s so many pieces in parts for those AC systems, you can get it be an easy fix, and then just recharge the thing .. 🤷🏼♂️ that’s it! Because yeah, AC is a must every one of my vehicles has always had AC . When I was young and dumb fresh out of high school, I did stupid things like remove the AC system from my turbo eclipse cars, thinking it would make it a lot faster, and almost even did the power steering🙈.. But you live in your learn. That’s how we get smarter and end up having nice things because we’ve made so many mistakes in the past and now we at least know a better direction to go down. 👍🏼
Very true views on the Cobra,. As mentioned these cars do have a basic interior and not the best materials compared to newer cars. Mine has a couple of the issues you mentioned, but yours seemed to be a bit more severe. My biggest issue was the alternator, interior noise, and notchy T56. However this is a 20 year old car and it reslly cant be compared to todays newer cars when it comes to ride quality, i also own a 13 GT500 and believe me its night and day difference. But theres something about my Terminator that keeps me from selling.
You can align the doors on these cars pretty easy, it's 4 bolts on the hinges and just adjust as needed. My 04 cobra had the same body panel issues and it was just the doors being miss aligned
Your situation would entirely make or break my decision If it’s your 2-3rd car and you can garage queen it and treat it like a classic car, keep and fix it If you actually need a daily driver with modern safety, comforts for family life, etc… it’s a no brainer to part with It is my dream car though. I’m new to ownership so I expect some issues but I can’t imagine parting with her after waiting 20 years to find the perfect one
wow, the things you find online lol. this car was for sale at a ford dealership near me and if i remember correctly they wanted like $50,000 for it! thats insane. i just went to their page to see if it was still there and nope its gone! hahaha i wonder how much someone bought it for geeez. i already thought the price on it was high before i saw this video i mean it looked clean and had 40k miles but shit i paid 51k for my 2014 Gt500 with only 5k miles a little over 5 years ago. lol i sold my 04 terminator with about 50k miles about 8 years ago for 17K!! this market is crazy
I've enjoyed your channel because you've always kept it honest. It's hard to mention to people when things go bad but it's the truth and reality when owning cars. There are good days and there are bad days. I'm sure the new mustang is a night and day difference compared to that rattling new edge. Imagen what I hear with a drop top lol I can hardly listen to music 😂
Lol Thanks man. My job here is to try to be as honest as possible and share my ownership experience. The Mach 1 is in a different universe compared to the cobra in terms of refinement and driving dynamics.
@TheMGChannel3 for sure when I get into my acura it's more convenient and relaxing to commute compared to the raw feel and performance of the Terminator. It sucks that it gave you all those problems but let's see what the future holds for you 💪
That last GT350 statement might upset some but so true. I guess these are the issues that can happen with a lower miles car; bought mine at 80k miles with me putting 4k miles and no issues other than the alternator and intercooler pump needing to be replaced.
I know people that own GT350's and their cars have been reliable, now I also know people that needed a new motor with those cars. Thats's a gamble I didn't want to take. The Mach 1 does 90% of what a 350 does but you don't need to worry about the motor, the Gen 3 coyote is bullet proof and also revs to 7,500 rpms out of the box.
@@TheMGChannelthe voodoo issues are greatly exaggerated. Some had oil consumption issues and people Beat the hell out ofthem and don't even check the oil then when it gets low it blows up because they didn't even keep a check on the oil then wanna blame the car lol. The gen 2 voodoo is solid they came stock 19-20 models. Any of them are solid as long as you keep oil in it.
Is pretty sad to be honest, completely unexpected but you got multiple issues that can be fix and probably didn’t have the time or so. A new car of course will always be a better option no doubt at all even more a new Mach 1 For me I guess I been lucky because every time I drive my Terminator I drive it like a stole it😂😂 I send it to the moon and back 👍🏼 and was always one of my dream cars. Looking forward to your new journey at channel and please never forget about the snakes 🐍 I hope those meets come back and finally make it to one of them.
I will never forget the 03/04 cobras and I will still make content on them even tho I won't own one for the near future. I really liked your cobra when I met you in person, and never sell yours if it makes you happy and it doesn't give you problems. Plus we could still review yours, I've never driven a Vert Terminator ;)
I love my new edge but your not lying about cabin noise. And also it’s doesn’t drive very nice 😂. My shift job goes crazy sometimes. Also I have the problem with my window on the drivers side but it’s way worse than yours. And I get scared rolling down my window bc it took me like 2 weeks to get it back all the way back up. Also my rpm’s sometime stay or they will go from like 600-1100 ish or so. It’s weird asf. Also my panel with the locks and window controls always pop out on both sides. Good lookin car lots of problems
So an oil leak, interior noise and some body line issues.. it does get annoying. I have a near perfect 04 TR cobra and mine makes interior noises… they all do it, body lines I mean.. it’s a ford.. my GT350 doesn’t line up that well either… I feel like you could have fixed a lot of this stuff and been a lot happier.
Not really, sure those did add up but the main reason was valve seals and oil consumption. Plus add the previous accident and you have a car that needs a lot of work. I'm perfectly happy with the Mach 1, I actually prefer a car that could turn, brake and accelerate quick, makes for a hell of a driving experience.
I had the same window issue on my 98 mustang. If I could do it all over I would have kept my 03 with the stock Eaton on but had it ported and painted and stayed on 93
So I’m pretty sure you’re car was sold to someone up here in New York near me . I was at a C&C this morning and a guy came up to me and said his buddy just bought a silver cobra at a dealer in Florida 2 weeks ago. He showed me a pic that his friend had sent him , it definitely looks like it . Gonna try to find out some more details.
@@the__black__box Why? They checked the car even on a lift, they are also a Ford dealership (they could fix the issues) and they sold the cobra already for way more money. I also bought a new car from them.
Totally understandable with all the things you had going on with that car. I honestly would have never known as it was so clean 😅 for me I did the opposite, the reason I got into the S550 at first was because I knew the cobra would give me more reliability issues and I didn't want to make payments on a car that would need constant work. Thankfully I was able in a good position to buy the cobra and Thankfully it hasn't given me any major issues except the annoying rattles like you said 😄
You did the right thing getting your cobra, the 10th anniversary cars have the 9 thread cylinder heads (revised by ford) same as the 04 cobras. Unfortunately my car lived a rough life before I bought it, I tried to baby it but the damage was a little too intense. Glad I got to experience a Terminator, I will never forget this car.
04 cobra owner, have to say I am very confused, so you buy a 20 year old car, and you expect not to have problems with it?????? everything you said, in my view was odd, if you knew the car was hit, and you were gd with it, then whats the issue?????? not bash n, just very confusing on the logic of your reasons. the mach 1, all it is a GT with upgrades, just being honest....wonder if you bought a 0304 cobra with no issues, would u have still got of the car?????? we will never know.....as long as ur happy thats what matters
I’ll tell you exactly my thought process as honest as I can be. I did expect the car to have issues, it’s obviously a used 20 year old car. I actually fixed many issues with the car I owned this car for 3 years, feel free to browse the channel. If the car didn’t have the valve guide seals where you actually need to open up the motor to fix it I would still own the car till this day. Everything else was fixable, well unless the accident you can’t really undo that. I loved the car more than many owners ever would love a car, I took great care of this car. I’m more than happy with the Mach 1.
@@TheMGChannel I see as long as u r happy, that is what matters, just me I always find it in very interesting the reasons why people get off there 0304 cobras, not everyone is a die hard 0304 cobra guy, regardless the reason btw I as well have a s550 stang as well. also had a 04 mystic vert, car actually got stolen, when I got my insurance money I got my 04 silver coupe cobra
@@everythinguneed5210 Well also consider that the reason why I bought lower mileage cobra was to not have deal with most of these known issues. Glad you have a Terminator I will always love those cars, maybe I’ll end up with another one in the near future, probably an 04 TBH
@@TheMGChannel cool man...I want u to get another 1 when the time is gd 4 u, just dont wait 2 long man, prices are going to mid 40k now, in 2024 they will be close to 50k, there are some out there now going for 50k, i follow the numbers very close, as u knw these cars are legends, the american supra, i so love when i pull up to car meets and i dont see 0304 unless its my boys and me...its 4 of us, when we roll n all together, its so nasty, having the first hellcat, 20 year old car still get n love and kick n ass with the gen 5 whipple
I'll be honest... when I saw you pick up a Mach 1 I knew you would sell the Terminator... It seems like yours had some solid issues that would cause me to be concerned as well.. my 04 thankfully is a joy to drive.. but it is a weekend toy.. and I don't foresee myself selling it.. I had friends that bought these when they were brand new.. and when I say it has always been one of my dream cars, I say that knowing most of the shortcomings that turn some people off from them.. most of which are inherent to the new edge / fox body.. I think that there are good amount of people that romanticize these cars and then come to the reality that they are dealing with a potentially 20 year old car using 30-40 year old tech in some cases... those people are better served with an S197 Coyote car or an S550.. there is your more modern car.. for me.. the Terminator and the new edge checks the boxes... it's a better fox body but not as refined as the newer cars.. Good luck with your Mach 1.. I'm glad you had your Cobra and I'm glad you were able to experience it. Sounds like you made the right choice for you.
I bought my 1st terminator in 2016 and never drove 1 prior to it. That being said, I was nervous that it wouldn't live up to my expectations. Well, I'm happy to say it surpassed them. I personally enjoy the noises and cheap materials. I bought the car for its simplicity and visceral experience. I also own a 13gt500 that is much tighter/faster. But I reach for the 03 keys more than the 13! Enjoy the mach!
Did you watch the full video? At the end of the day that’s your opinion and yes the Cobra is iconic but giving all of the issues it had it just wasn’t worth it for me anymore. The Mach 1 is far from just a GT, drive both back to back and you’ll know it in a second. Thanks for watching.
@@TheMGChannel I know the Mach 1 is a "better" car. I just don't think they did enough to differentiate it from a GT on the outside. A Mach 1 without a shaker hood is just not a Mach 1
Coming from the same situation you were in I totally get it. Mine had issues of its own. I did not have the interior noise yours did even with more miles or the hum from the rear but mine had plenty of problems. My biggest one being the valve seals needing to be changed and knowing what that was going to lead to..... head studs, higher compression pistons, new timing components, new oil pump gears, ARP rod bolts....I was looking at a 5K investment just to get it right. While I did not have to do all of that stuff I would have just because it would have been apart and....why not. All that plus the fact that it needed a new paint job. I just reached a point where I was done with it and wanted to move on. I had it for 3 years, had it built to a 700 HP monster and decided to move on. I have other ambitions and other cars I want to own and mod. Getting a dream car is an achievement but by no means is it something that you have to keep for life. Maybe someday I'll get another one but I have bigger plans with the foxbody and what I'm doing with that at the moment.
Yeah, unfortunately these cars could be a money pit. One thing leads to another, and once you open the motor you might as well just refresh the engine.
@@TheMGChannel 100% true and mod motors are quite expensive to have stuff done on, well the 4V’s anyway. I can get an entire short block with forged internals for a pushrod for the same amount if not less than what it would cost to do what I listed above, all with the capability of making ever bit of power on boost as the 4V 4.6
You made the correct choice, especially seeing first hand everything you went through with the Cobra 🐍 It was fun while it lasted, but I must admit that we love the Mach1 😅 Can’t wait to see all the new content that you will be making with our new baby 💨💨💨 P.S. Your number 1 supporter
Alternators on these cars are shit. I ended up getting a Mechman alternator and then had hell shredding belts. Finally got that resolved by taking it to HPP Racing.
I didn’t know that non car guys knew how to do this 🥱 th-cam.com/video/M8XoVy-b1CM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BGs8RKkKc7jWCAo7 Also install a Ported blower, also take it the dyno and make 530 wheel on 93 otc. Not bad a non car guy! 😊
Hey Dustin, I appreciate your comment. Thanks for your service (Army?). It’s almost one year since I sold my 03 cobra and I thought I might regret the decision but in all honesty I haven’t. I do miss some things about my cobra, like the looks and the blower whine. But giving the problems that it had, like valve seals and burning oil like crazy, I’m okay with the decision I made. In regards to the S550 being another average Mustang, it’s not, I have a Mach 1, they are a lot more rare than your average S550. It’s absolutely the best car I’ve ever owned so far and the best Mustang.
I feel the pain of letting go of your dream car. My dream car was a 13-14 gt500. I finally was able to buy one and sold it a year later due to problems.
yep, most cobras have issues and the owners brush the issues under the rug to continue the mythical idea that these cars are the end all be all, im glad you came out and the balls to make this video that most owners or ex owners wont make, these cars arent what they are pumped up to be, i bought a new shelby got sick of it mine
All easy fixes😂😂you gave up on it like most non car guys do.

Plus we could still review yours, I've never driven a Vert Terminator ;)
Sad to see it go. Mine was taken..by a wall. Also, I then got a 2012 Shelby GT500. I'm pretty happy with it. Good luck with your new car!
Glad you are enjoying your Shelby, they are awesome cars.
Couldn't finish the video sorry.
If I could do it all over I would have kept my 03 with the stock Eaton on but had it ported and painted and stayed on 93
That's why I never upgraded to a bigger blower lol
So I’m pretty sure you’re car was sold to someone up here in New York near me . I was at a C&C this morning and a guy came up to me and said his buddy just bought a silver cobra at a dealer in Florida 2 weeks ago. He showed me a pic that his friend had sent him , it definitely looks like it . Gonna try to find out some more details.
Feel you bro, I decided instead or getting rid of mines just going to strip it down repaint and install gt500 engine and trans.
How much did you sell it for? I’m debating selling mine but not sure yet
total trade in value was 31k.
@@TheMGChannel damn you ripped them off, they probably dont even know about these issues either, they gonna sue you
@@the__black__box Why?
I feel your point i hope u got another one buddy
Sorry to hear. my Cobra has 102000 and no leaks and no issues to speak of, knock on wood. Such a fun car. God Bless
Buy an oil catch can for the Mach1...must have to keep the oil from going into the intake.
Thanks! I’m considering getting a catch can soon 🙏🏻
What you should say was I seen the resale value of the car and decided to get the money
Much respect brother, still love your videos!
Thank you 🙏🏻 I truly appreciate your support!
You gave up a recognizable icon of a car for a new GT with lipstick. lol
To each his own, but down the road , I regretted selling every Mustang that I got rid of. I won't ever sell the one I have now. Enjoy the new car.
Thanks man!
You made the right choice. We take a huge gamble when we purchase these car's
Did it go to AutoNation in Miami?? one for sale 43k on the miles Silver just like yours ,they are asking 44,000 for the cobra 🐍
Yes, that was my car.
You made the correct choice, especially seeing first hand everything you went through with the Cobra 🐍 It was fun while it lasted, but I must admit that we love the Mach1 😅 Can’t wait to see all the new content that you will be making with our new baby 💨💨💨
P.S. Your number 1 supporter
You'll be back in a Terminator, you can try the new mustangs but nothing is going to give you the same feeling
Maybe some day. :)
Alternators on these cars are shit. I ended up getting a Mechman alternator and then had hell shredding belts. Finally got that resolved by taking it to HPP Racing.
Your Mach 1 is amazing! Yea, too many issues with the Cobra.
Thanks man. The Mach 1 does everything at an excellent level.
You should just say, "I pretend to be a car guy but I don't know how to fix anything so I bought something brand new."
I didn’t know that non car guys knew how to do this 🥱 th-cam.com/video/M8XoVy-b1CM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=BGs8RKkKc7jWCAo7
Also install a Ported blower, also take it the dyno and make 530 wheel on 93 otc. Not bad a non car guy! 😊
Don’t pay attention to the nay sayers, they are few and far between. You made the right choice for you! Let’s meet up soon, can’t wait to see your M1.
We need to go for a cruise soon. The Bullitt and Mach 1 are going to look great side by side.
I love M G for ever in my life ♥️♥️
Going to regret this. Now you just got a new s550 like every other 18 year old at the car meet.
I’m thankful mines at 40k miles I got no problem
That’s awesome man 👍🏻
I would have sold that thing too!!
M G is my favorite ♥️♥️
I feel the pain of letting go of your dream car. My dream car was a 13-14 gt500. I finally was able to buy one and sold it a year later due to problems.
I know man, it sucks but these things happen all the time.
So basically your incompetent in maintenance and repair of a vehicle
Clearly 😂 did you watch the full video?
Here is your L
Top five reasons why i sold my cobra mustang 🤔 cops cops cops cops and cops 😏
L
I would NEVER get rid of my terminator for a new mach 1 idc how smooth and quiet the newer cars are. Should've kept the cobra.
yep, most cobras have issues and the owners brush the issues under the rug to continue the mythical idea that these cars are the end all be all, im glad you came out and the balls to make this video that most owners or ex owners wont make, these cars arent what they are pumped up to be, i bought a new shelby got sick of it mine
cobras are a bucket, im glad someone has the balls to say it like it is. thank you
