  • Updated with a more flexible beam, the Prince Textreme Tour 95 is a midsize player's racquet offers outstanding control and feel

    www.tennis-ware...
    This update to the Textreme Tour 95 retains the speedy and surgical feel of previous generations while adding an even more arm-friendly beam construction. Although it weighs nearly 12 ounces strung, the ATS Textreme Tour 95 comes around fast, making it great for whipping up spin and hitting shots on the run. It also has decent pop for a midsize player’s racquet (thanks in part to how fast this stick moves through contact). For 2022, Prince has given the Tour 95 a more flexible beam, resulting in even better ball feedback along with less shock to the tendons. Other updates include Anti-Torque System (ATS) which features Textreme and Twaron in both the shaft and at 10 and 2 o'clock in the upper hoop. The upshot is less frame torque at impact, resulting in a more powerful and stable hitting experience. Ultimately, with its seductive combination of speed, control and feel this update to the Tour 95 checks all the right boxes. Experienced players looking for user-friendly midsize player’s racquet should love this one.

    I just demoed this last night from you guys and it was very interesting. It was like a whip. The ball just slung out of the strings and I had the same feeling of stability, spin, easy power, and comfortable flexibility as you all talked about. It does feel like the throat flexes and transfers to the ball when you make contact, creating that slingshot feeling. I played very well on my first hit even with the less than perfect demo multi strings. My one-handed backhand felt pretty dialed in which was great. It's just easy to swing and makes you feel comfortable hitting any shot. Glad you guys reviewed this one so thoroughly.

      Did you get to try the 98 also? How did it compare?

      @@Robust2013 No I haven't, I think it would feel pretty close to the 95 though! I like the 95 inch head because it's easier to whip my one hander around and get better control. Just feels good in the hand.

      @@samuelbaldwin7856 thanks for the reply. I also have a one hander, so I am on the fence as to which one to go for. I liked the previous 2015 version also.

      @@Robust2013 I think if you like the solid feel on your backhand like I do, you'd like the 95 more. Chris mentions this one feels the most solid and he uses a one hander too. If you usually play with a 98 though and want that extra power then that one is a safe bet. But if you can demo both side by side I would do that!

    I hope Prince redesigns this line. I can’t deal with this cosmetic. Still using the last gen with Twaron but they’re getting hard to come by.

    Have absolutely loved the previous version this replaces. Would you describe the new ATS version as more or less powerful?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Power levels are pretty comparable between this one and the previous version. It still maintain that easy power, and pop for a 95, but with this update a smoother more comfortable feel, and pretty good feedback on contact. Troy, TW

    Why couldn't you have similar thick beams on the all black Phantom rackets. God these toy-like white rackets look horrible. White on a racket is just a no-no. And they even have all these random pattern on the frame which takes away from Prince's signature teardrop shape and slender neckline. REALLY horrible design that just screams.... LOOK AT ME, I WANNA BE LIKE Tecnifibre.

    Michelle, I have a history with Prince… I’m a senior, and i have Three racquets in my bag: Twistpower 100 X, New Blade V8 16x19, and the new Head Speed MP…I do like the TP 100x because I can easily maneuver it and generate good racquet head speed… ( Definitely easier for an old guy to handle)… I will keep the Prince… I’m not sure about the other two… I did play with the Prince Tour 310; thought it was a great racquet… I’m intrigued by the new Prince Tour 98… Does it move through the air quickly? How does it compare to my mp, or to the Ezone 100?Ciao, John

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi John,
      I will do my best to answer! Does it move through the air quickly? For me, yes, it is explosively fast but I am used to swinging something a bit beefier so compared to an EZONE 100 or even a Speed MP it might be a bit slower as the swingweight on those racquets is a bit lower vs. the Tour 98! So that can be a bit relative and dependent on your swing, but yes, I would say it's fast yet stable and still offers good plow. Comparing it to the EZONE 100, this Prince Tour 98 has a more controlled feel to it in my opinion. Hope that helps!

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both are pretty user-friendly for 95 headsizes. That said, I find a bit more control from the 16x20 pattern on the VCORE 95, and a bit higher launch angle from the ATS Tour 95. So for me, I found a bit more control and feel from the VCORE 95, and a bit more pop and spin from the ATS Tour 95.

    I currently use the Prince Textreme Tour 95 (the most recent version)...how would you say this compares?

  • @Robust2013
    @Robust2013 ปีที่แล้ว

    How does this 95 maneuver compared to the Tour 98? I have been playing the 98 and I like it, but I feel really sluggish and at disadvantage on my one handed backhand.
    Coming from the TXT Tour 310, and considering it whippy and maneuverable on the ond handed backhand. I was considering trying the 95 or the 100P to have more maneuverability.
    Kind Regards

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  ปีที่แล้ว

      The average swingweight of the two racquets, ATS 98 & 95, are pretty similar, but it is hard to say for certain, unless you have had the swingweight measured on your exact racquet. I would say in general the 95 feels pretty maneuverble, maybe beacuase of the balance. So, definitely worth a try, but if you are purchasing one, and are particular about the maneuverability, you would be best off using our racquet spec services to find the lowest swingweight in a given batch. You could also try adding some tungsten putty inside the handle, to see how your 98 would play being more headlight. Troy, TW

      @@tenniswarehouse ok, thanks. I might try the 95, as some mentioned the thinner beam helps with air drag. I used the 93P before so I figure they are closer. I feel the 98 is great for 2 handed backhand

    • @josephduchene5849
      @josephduchene5849 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @r0baa On one-hand backhand, balance makes a big difference. I always have problems with the common 305-gram, near even balance racquets. If you look at racquets you like vs 98, they're probably more headlight. I really like the TT95 for OHBH. The Phantom 97p is also great for it.

    Could you tell me how would it compare to a similarly weighted cx 200 tour 16x19,especially in terms of control and comfort?

    • @tenniswarehouse
      @tenniswarehouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have tried adding weight to the CX 200 Tour 16x19, a while back. I think if you were to have the matching specs between the two racquets, the Tour 95 packs more power, and has a more lively feel to it. The Tour 95 has a thin beam in the throat, but thickens up a bit in the hoop and gives it a lot of energy return for a 95. The CX 200 Tour 16x19 is a little thicker in the throat region than the Tour 95, but it stays relatively thin throughout, which for me gives a more controlled response, and also maybe just a bit more feel for the ball.
