Been waiting a long time for the Beast replacement! Prince seemed to have developed a discrimination toward 98s there for a couple years. Excited that Prince is finally offering a 1/8” again on a 98! Hoping to find one of these a bit under-spec
This looks like a replacement for my DR98+. I was going to wait until Yonex releases the 2022 98+ but you guys have me intrigued about this new Prince racquet!
I think I’ll have to add this to my Prince collection of 98 racquets. I fluctuate between the 95 and 98 quite a bit. So look forward to trying this racquet.
it seems the only negativeness it's the somewhat "cheap-looking" not so attractive cosmetics... now just make this stick in matte ALL BLACK in a sort of "limited edition" version and you'll have all the box checked! ✅ ✅ ✅ PS: look that girl (Zsofi) with clean eastern forehand and beautifull one handed backhand! 🤩 pure joy for the eyes
Long time 2019 100p user who was checking out the updated Tour line. Didn't gel at all well with the new 100P nor the 98. As many have already said, the smoothness through the air has disappeared, as has the crisp but comfortable response. The new ats technology has resulted in a dampened feel on contact which at first might feel plush but is actually quite a confusing sensation since you have a fairly thick beam at the same time which can make things feel clunky. Off-centre hits seem to have an unpleasant minor flutter/vibration which can grate unless you're nailing the sweetspot time after time. Better on the 2HBH - which I hit flatter - than FH for me. The slice is much worse on both these rackets than the previous set-up, something about the shape of a knifed slice that these frames doesn't seem to tolerate well at all. The exception to all these downsides is the flat serve which is pinpoint and totally bomb-like. Hoping that Prince go back to the magic they found in the 2019 set-up which produced simply fantastic well-rounded frames. Fingers crossed.
Michelle, from the podcast i figured your frame is at 336 swing weight and 11.9 ounces. Can you please find the balance too? I have an overspec frame where the strung swing weight came in at 331 and i like higher swing weights too. So just 1 gram at 12 o clock got my swing weight up to 335 ish. I am guessing the balance to be around 8 pts HL atleast?
When will the written review come out ? Also ,how does it compare to the ezone dr98 ? Specs and beam dimensions seem similar..... stability ,feel , volleys
Thanks for the review. I have recently transitioned from my Phantom 100x 16x18 to the Textreme Tour 100 (310). A little more solid response and pop. However I also liked the Twistpower 97X but found it too clunky. So I have been in between the Twistpower 100x Tour (don't own it yet as I live in Europe) and the Textreme Tour 100 (310). I tried the new Ezone 98 2022 which I liked but got a small pain in the arm after one hour. I also have a one-handed backhand so considering which one helps me the most there. How does this 98 compare to the above racquets?
hi, i come from the textreme tour 100 310, the 2019 one, i love it, never expected that control from it, they soon will need a replacement, the thing is, i like the crisp feel, and how surprisingly good the slice is with it, maybe just maybe, at times i would like a smaller headsize for that point and shot feeling when attacking, i heard these frames are softer, im a little worried, because i like it crisp, not super stiff but i dont like to feel like it bends a lot, i like it to feel stable, if i make the upgrade it will be the 98 that im interested in, can you describe precisely how the 2019 feels compared to this new 98? i mean spin potential wise, monouverability wise, and launch angle too, and particularly the slice, and also, is it really harder to deffend with this one? i read the review but i would like a little more insight as its a big decision, thanks in advance
You should definitely notice a bit more control and precision. Yes, these ATS Tours do feel slightly more comfortable, and the average stiffness rating on this 98 is 62, which is the flex taken in the throat region of the racquet, and is pretty universal for the stiffness rating. That said, my feeling when hitting with it was that it felt pretty comfortable, but still had a pretty solid feel as I feel like the hoop is not as flexible as the throat region. I also know from many years of playtesting and talking racquets with Michelle, that she doesn't typically like softer feeling or more flexible frames, and she really likes how this racquet feels and plays. This one is a bit lighter than the 100 (310), but has a decent amount of swingweight, and can be customized if need be. For me, this one has a slightly lower launch angle to the 100 (310), having 8 main strings in the throat versus 6 on the Tour 100 (310), the pattern looks slightly more dense, but still decently spin friendly, and has a pretty predictable response; but the 100 (310) will be a bit easier access to spin, and bit higher launch angle. I think the slightly tighter string spacing, and solid precise feel makes it feel a bit better on slice compared to the 100 (310). As far as defense, most of use thought it wasn't difficult, however that may depend on what you are used to, so yeah maybe a bit easier with the 100 (310). Troy, TW
@@tenniswarehouse thank you so much for the concise anwser, really apreciate it, this year i plan to train even more days per week, once i up my level a little more where i want it to be ( and the price downs a bit) i ll probably go for the 98, thanks
Pretty similar specs between the two, however the Extreme Tour is a bit stiffer feeling, and the string spacing is slightly wider or a bit more open, so a bit easier spin with it. This ATS Tour 98 has a bit more plow through, and feels a bit softer or flexible, so better comfort with it. A slightly more stable feel with the ATS Tour 98, in stock form. Troy, TW
This one is more plush, not quite as stiff, but also feels like it provides a bit easier power. Likely due to the thicker beam in the hoop with this Tour 98, but thins out and is nice and flexible in the throat. Troy, TW
Great and accurate review, as always; I' m seriously thinking to switch to this frame but I'm not sure about the sweetspot. Can I get more stability compared to Wilson Blade 98 v8 16*19? Is It more permissive?
Sorry for the late reply, but yes I think most of us find a bit more stability, and a bit easier power compared to the Blade 98 16x19 v8, whereas the Blade feels slightly more flexible, and maybe just a bit more control. Troy, TW
Power level is fairly close between the two, but a bit more plow through power with the ATS Tour 98. I would give the slight edge in forgiveness to the ATS Tour 98. Feel is somewhat subjective, but both racquets have a pretty good feel to them. Troy, TW
Do you think the Prince ATS Textreme Tour 98 will do well with customization / lead tape? The specs seem good on paper, but really prefer a swing weight of 330.
The specs on this seem very similar to the Phantom 100p, how would this compare overall, and would it be better to see if Prince is refreshing the Phantom line and that racquet? I've been looking to move more into the 98in range and this is intriguing.
As far as the weight, swingweight, and balance goes, they are pretty similar. That said, the difference in feel comes down to the thickness of the frame (beam width), and slight difference in the stiffness rating. The Tour 98 is a bit thicker of a frame, which translates to a bit easier power, and the slightly higher stiffness rating helps with that energy return on the ball. The Phantom 100P has a bit thinner beam overall, and is a bit more flexible, which provides a bit lower power response, but a ton of feel for the ball, and a bit more comfort. Troy, TW
We found the power level to be fairly close to the EZONE 98, but with a bit more feel and responsiveness to the Tour 98. So maybe not quite a mix of the two, but somewhere in between, leaning closer to the easy power of the EZONE 98. Troy, TW
Hi guys, I'm trying to transition to 16/19 from 18/20 ( currently playing with speed pro, mostly flat shots, strong intermediate club player, aggressive baseliner who likes to attack)). I'm looking for some 98sq.in 305-315g unstrung weight, 325-330sw, control-oriented 16/19 probably with 8 mains, i got head extreme tour nite to test, it came highly under specs Sw310 strung, 302g unstrung weight, so i put 2 gr of lead at 12 and then 4g at 3/9 + 2 overgips and 2gr of lead in the handle, racket still feels pretty easy to use not enough plow through power and quite a high launch angle. Today i took from my friend pure strike 16/19 3rd gen and immediately liked how it plays, pretty decent power level, still controllable and price enough, easy depth, felt a bit muted though. So my question is how does new prince tour 98 compare to pure strike 98 16/19 and head boom pro, especially in control department? and what other racket you can suggest to me? Thanks Alex
The control is pretty good with the ATS Tour 98, just as much as the Strike 98, if not a little better, and slightly less of that muted feel. That Tour 98 is definitely worth a try, as well as the Boom Pro, and I have enjoyed hitting with the TF40 305 16x19 lately. Troy, TW
@@tenniswarehouse But according to TW review scoreboard, VCORE Pro 97 (2018) has got lower scores regarding control and feel and higher score in power compared to ATS Textreme Tour.
@Νik Giop , It is hard to make a true comparison using the scores, as there are different players (playtesters) on the various reviews. So that is why recommend using the reviews and scores as a reference, but you can't really directly compare, except maybe if you look at each individual playtester's scores. Even at that most of us testers change our preferences over the years. Most of us would agree that the VCORE Pro 97 offers a bit more control than the ATS Tour 98, but feel wise it is more of a debate as feel is very subjective. Hope that helps. Troy, TW
Dang it Prince, now I’m in a new racquet conundrum!!! Hahaha Just broke my TT 310 (not in anger, haha). Been hard to find a good used replacement and wanted to order the new TT 310. Now after hearing the review of this 98 I’m on the fence! I had switched from the 2015 100p to the TT 310 for a little more pop and spin (which I got) but missed some of the pinpoint accuracy of the 100p. Any feedback would be great!
I would definitely give the new 100P, 100 310 and 98 a demo. This generation is more flexible than the 2019's, so the feel is closer to the 2015. Based on your feedback though, the 98 might be right up your alley. I got easier depth and higher launch angles from the 98 than 100P, but still had plenty of control as well. The 310 is awesome, but the 16x18 pattern was a little launchy for my flatter strokes. - Andrew, TW
@Robert Wilke, I've been playing a bunch with this racquet and even testing some strings in it. I love it with Solinco Hyper G and Prince Vortex Triad at 57 lbs. Hope that helps! We get into a bunch of string chatter in this podcast as well: th-cam.com/video/sbXNFX2-JII/w-d-xo.html Michelle, TW
hello, I have two ezone 98 with two grams in the lead, now I bought a tour 98 and I have mounted some vortexes at 22-21 kg! I like the comfort spin and the beat and the slice. ! what other string can I try to have more ball weight on the most spin-laden balls?
my forehand covered with the ezone with the poly tour rev is more penetrating, I wanted to buy this prince because I wanted more feel and I found it, to compensate for the lack of penetration of the shot better try a new string or better add some lead?
We enjoy the Solinco Hyper-G, and Tour Bite for lots of spin potential. Hyper-G feels a bit more comfortable than Tour Bite, which is pretty firm. They both also come in Soft versions. Some other strings with a lot of bite and spin, are Volkl Cyclone, Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable, and Tecnifibre 4S. Troy, TW
@jakob olesen, Personally, I find the Tour 98 to feel a bit softer and offer a bit easier power as well as more spin vs. the Speed Pro which feels more controlled and precise, as well as a bit more firm to me. Hope that helps. I would say both swing relatively the same speed and for me feel explosive yet still stable! If you are looking for more control, the Speed Pro might be the play but I personally love how the Tour 98 offers me a blend of control, power and access to spin paired with good plow through! Michelle, TW
This Prince ATS Tour 98 provides a bit easier access to power. The Tecnifibre TF40 305 16x19 has a slightly firmer feel, and offers a bit more control. Both racquets offer pretty good spin potential. Troy, TW
Hello, Can you please compare this racket to the wilson blade 98 16X19 V5 (the one with 66 RA) ? i used to play with the prince textreme tour 100 2019 and i switched to this blade V5 ... is the prince ats 98 a mix between the two rackets ?
Definitely could be worth a try. The Tour 98 ATS has a fairly low flex rating in the yoke of the racquet, but has a bit thicker beam up in the hoop for some added power or energy return. So it has some of that precision from the 98 headsize, but a nice amount of power or energy return that is close to the Tour 100. Troy, TW
It will likely be a few more weeks before the written review is available, as it has to be revised and edited. Definitely worth a demo, and then you can let us know how you liked it...Troy, TW
The control levels are pretty close, however the Blade v9 is a bit more control oriented, and this ATS Tour 98 provides a bit easier access to power and energy return. Both work well on flatter shots, and the slice, however the string spacing on this Tour 98 is slightly more dense than the average 16x19 so it works great on those flatter drive type of shots. Troy, TW
I have Tour 100p, like all of its components except sometimes I need to get heavier mass. Can I just change to leather grip so SW stays the same? And how about its comparison to Phantom line and Ezone 98/98 Tour? I have both Ezone but I cannot seem to be sure about my hit results, maybe due to their VDM tech?
The closer you add the weight to the bottom of the handle, like inside the trap door, the least effect you will have on swingweight. A leather grip will add weight to the handle and won't change the swingweight by much, maybe a couple points higher. The Prince Tour line provides a bit easier power compared to the Phantom line, but the Phantom line offers a bit more feel and flex. I would say that the EZONE line packs a bit easier power that the Tour line, so a more direct comparison would be EZONE 98 vs Tour 98. That said, the EZONE racquets do feel slightly on the muted side, with the dampening technologies, but it also allows the racquets to offer that easy power, while still being relatively comfortable. Troy, TW
@@tenniswarehouse thanks for fast reply, I mean Ezone 98 Tour for comparison to TT 100p because I feel the standard Ezone 98 is too unstable and much more muted. And how about DR98 vs TT 98/100P?
We mention the string choices and tensions at the end of the video, at about 6:05. We have tried many other strings as well since this review. Troy, TW
We would say pretty close the EZONE 98, but provides easier power to the Synergy 98. The Synergy 98 feels a bit lower in power, closer to like a VCORE Pro, or Blade 98. Troy, TW
I think some of the launch angle can be handled by a higher string tension. I have a few racquets that I play around with and when I feel one is a little too lively, I use a higher tension (occasionally even the max tension recommended on the racquet) and this allows me to hit out with all the benefits of using a particular racquet, but without the downside of over launching. It's actually a very nice combo.
It has been a while since we played with the Blade 98S (18x16 pattern), but we found this one to have a fairly forgiving sweet-spot for a 98 headsize. This one also is bit thicker beam in the hoop, so it provides a bit easier access to power. Troy, TW
@Al Simons, That is Prince Diablo Prism -- it's a super fun color hybrid poly -- you can find it here: www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpage-PDPRSM16B.html Michelle, TW
Both are pretty comfortable, and offer a lot of control and feel. The ATS Tour 98 gives a bit more precision, and also feels like there is a bit more energy return. The Gravity Tour feels a bit lower in power with the 18x20 pattern. Troy, TW
I guess you could say the specs are similar in terms of swingweight, and a bit difference in weight, but this Tour 98 is more flexible, specifically in the throat where it is quite a bit thinner. More control, and feel with this Tour 98, and a bit more solid feel. A bit closer overall to the Pure Strike 98 16x19 but a bit softer feeling. The Pure Aero Rafa is stiffer, and provides easier power and spin. If you want a Prince Tour that would be a bit closer to the Pure Aero Rafa, the Tour 100 (310) or (290), depending on how maneuverable you want to go, and if you want the closest thing to a Pure Aero from Prince, you would be looking at the Prince Textreme Warrior 100, Prince Vortex 300g, or Prince Twistpower X100 Tour. Troy, TW
Hi Troy, I am currently using the pure aero vs. i somehow find it to lack power especially on the backhand wing. It just feels slightly light in terms of swing weight. Would you think that the higher swing weight on this will help? Is this far off in terms of power and spin too?
@Lorenz Yeung, Good question! I would say the CTS Synergy DB 26 feels a bit crisper but has a similar vibe to me in terms of power but give the edge to the Synergy DB 26. I would say the Tour 98 offers a little more control and feel though! Hope that helps! Michelle, TW
This Tour 98 is similar as far as the weight, headsize, and fairly close in avg swingweight. That said, this one packs a bit easier punch, or power, with the thicker beam up in the hoop. The Blade 98 16x19 v8 is a bit more control oriented overall. We found the power level of this Tour 98 to be a bit closer to the EZONE 98. Troy, TW
@C D, They don't play that similar to me as the Iga (are you speaking about the 298?) is quite a bit stiffer and feels firmer as well as speedier. So it whips through the air quite a bit quicker and has less feel than this Tour 98. I find a bit more control in the Tour 98 and a bit more plow through as well. Michelle, TW
Maybe the white paintjob made me thik of the Tecnifibre sticks haha. I’ve always like the soft but still crisp feel of Prince, and looking for a bit more power than my Extreme Tour, how does this racket compare? Is the launch angle much higher than the ET?
Most of our testers liked it with a shaped co-poly, and one of our favorites is Solinco Hyper-G, either 1.25 or 1.20 for the gauge. We usually string somewhere around 50 to 52 pounds depending on the playtester; some of us go a little higher and some little lower, but for the most part that's a good middle ground. Another string that worked well, and feels a bit softer for a co-poly is the Prince Vortex Triad 1.25 gauge. There are a ton of different options out there, and poly strings aren't always the best option for every player. We tried some multifilaments, and some hybrids that played well. What strings are you currently using, or what do you typically play with? Troy, TW
Slightly more comfortable with this ATS Tour 98, and I also found a bit more feel or connection to the ball on slice and flatter drives. The string spacing is a bit wider, or more open on the VCORE 98 so it offer really easy topspin, but a little less connected on slice and flatter strokes. Troy, TW
We'd give the slight edge in power to the Tour 100 (310), as the 16x18 pattern really helps give the racquets some easy energy return, considering these are Tour racquets. If you really want to crank up the power, go with the Ripstick! Troy, TW
We usually go with Solinco Hyper-G 1.25, but there are a lot of good options out there. Some others are Volkl Cyclone, Prince Tour XP, Head Lynx Tour, Luxilon ALU Power, Yonex Poly Tour Drive. And you can also go with a softer string choice for more comfort, like Tecnifibre NRG2, or Prince Premier Power, or you could sort of meet in the middle by using a hybrid. Troy, TW
The Tour 98 does pack a decent punch, but compared to the Tour 100 (310) it has a bit better precision, and control. The Tour 100 (310) is a more lively, and a bit easier spin from that 16x18 pattern. Troy,TW
I played with the TT 100 (310) but switched to the Blade 98 V7 for a bit more control. Where does ATS 98 fall in terms of control/power between those 2 racquet?
I would say its a pretty good middle ground between those two, but the feel will be closer to the Tour 100 (310), due to the materials or composition. Troy, TW
With this update of the Tour line, Prince does not list a power level on the frame, nor on their website. I would say that the power levels should be pretty transparent from the previous generation of Textreme Tour racquets. Since this 98 version is new to the line, the power level would likely sit somewhere in between the 95 and the 100 (310). Troy, TW
This ATS Tour 98 is a bit more maneuverable or easy to swing, and with a slightly thicker beam in the hoop, it provides a bit more energy return or packs a little more punch. The Radical Pro feels heftier with more plow through, in stock form, and slightly more control. Troy, TW
@@tenniswarehouse would you say the prince is slightly more spin friendly? And i dont mean launch angle, just the frame and the pattern, also, which one better for flat shots?
@@ggar9623, I would say pretty close for spin potential, both have 8 holes in the throat, so not as open as the VCORE 98, but still pretty spin freindly. Both pretty equal on the flatter shots. Troy, TW
@Luke Meyer-Noack, I would say the Prince feels a bit more flexier and has more feel while the Ezone feels a bit more muted. A little more plow through with the Tour 98 as well. Worth a demo! Michelle, TW
We found it to play well with a variety of strings, from polys to multifilaments, just depending on the player's preference for tension. That said, we found that if you want to maximize the spin potential we preferred a shaped poly, like Hyper-G, Cyclone, or Vortex Triad. If you want to maximize power and comfort, and aren't too worried about achieving max spin, then a nice multi could be the way to go, like Prince Premier Control or NRG2. For something in the middle a hybrid could be a good option. Troy, TW
@@tenniswarehouse thanks for the reaction! That makes is going on the demo list for me. I am in the market for a softer feeling Radical MP and the Auxetic version didn't feel well in the wrist after testing. I am also looking at the TF40 16*19, 360+ Extr.Tour and Dunlop Sx300 Tour. I mostly play on clay but I find 100" heads feel sluggish.
Michelle: How does the ATS Tour 98 compare to the new Ezone 98… Their specs are identical in many categories…. They are very similar, at least on paper. You liked the Ezone 98… but you love the Tour 98… It’s amazing how rackets with similar specs can generate such different responses from players.
@John Nacke, Great question! First I would say the feel of Yonex racquets and Prince racquets are different as well as their headshapes. I gravitate toward the shape of the Prince Tour 98 (and am more familiar withit) and would say the EZONE feels a bit more muted vs. the Tour 98. Then from there I would just comment that the Tour 98 feels a bit more comfortable, stable and offers a bit more plow through. It just feels better in my hands and I feel more confident with it in my hands -- some of it I can't necessarily put into words (but hope that makes sense!) :) Michelle, TW
Not quite. This one seems to offer a bit more feel, and a bit more comfort. The Beast 98 packed a bit more lively response, and was thicker at the tip of the frame, 25mm at the tip, as well as this Tour 98 being a little thinner in the throat. Troy, TW
What is that colorful string!? Also, when you say the launch angle is high, do you mean compare to 18x20? Or do you mean the launch angle is high even compared to some 16x19 like the radical mp or extreme tour?
@Klaus Kong, That is Prince Diablo Prism! You can find it here: www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpage-PDPRSM16B.html I can't comment on launch angle comments as I did not notice that in this model but will get Andrew/Zsofi to chime in! Michelle, TW
@Klaus Kong, For me, it was mainly that the ball had more height and depth than I was expecting. For Zsofi, it was in comparison to the other 98's shes used, mainly the Pure Strike and TF40 16x19. Andrew, TW
@@tenniswarehouse HI Andrew and Zsofi, how does this racquet compare to the Solinco Whiteout 305? Pretty similar specs. Does the Whiteout 305 have a more predictable launch angle?
I would say the Tour 98 has much better feel and more flex as well as more control. he SX 300 Tour would take the edge in spin and probably easier power however I prefer the blend of control and power from the Tour 98. The SX 300 Tour feels more muted to me while the Tour 98 offers a nice flexible feel without being noodley -- that ATS technology is great and one I'm finding I really appreciate (firmer at the tip, flexier at the throat). How does this compare to the Whiteout 18x20 since it is much different than the 16x19
Stay tuned for the written review, hopefully within the next few weeks. Troy, TW
It is closest in feel to the Textreme Tour 100 (310), but a bit softer, and the 98 headsize adds some precision, and control. Troy, TW
@@tenniswarehouse Thanks! I'll probably go ahead and purchase it
hi, i come from the textreme tour 100 310, the 2019 one, i love it, never expected that control from it, they soon will need a replacement, the thing is, i like the crisp feel, and how surprisingly good the slice is with it, maybe just maybe, at times i would like a smaller headsize for that point and shot feeling when attacking, i heard these frames are softer, im a little worried, because i like it crisp, not super stiff but i dont like to feel like it bends a lot, i like it to feel stable, if i make the upgrade it will be the 98 that im interested in, can you describe precisely how the 2019 feels compared to this new 98? i mean spin potential wise, monouverability wise, and launch angle too, and particularly the slice, and also, is it really harder to deffend with this one? i read the review but i would like a little more insight as its a big decision, thanks in advance
@1:23 loved this shot 📷
How does this compare with the head extreme tour ?....faster swing , stability, serve , two handed backhand etc
Troy, TW
Looks like it might be pretty similar to the Solinco Whiteout. How would you compare them?

Troy, TW
Hi. Compare to head radical mp, what are the main differences ? Tks
Hello, can you compare this one to the extreme tour 2022 in terms of feel, power, control and forgiveness ? Thank you !
@gholland75,
Yes! I'm playing around with some customizing now to bring up that swingweight!
Michelle, TW
@@tenniswarehouse can you tell me wich customizing is and your strings and tension? tks
Troy, TW

Great review as always guys. How does this racket compare to the yonex vcore pro and ezone line of rackets?
We found the power level to be fairly close to the EZONE 98, but with a bit more feel and responsiveness to the Tour 98. So maybe not quite a mix of the two, but somewhere in between, leaning closer to the easy power of the EZONE 98. Troy, TW
Sounds great. A'd could you compare this tour 98 to the ezone 98 for spin ?
Hi guys,
I'm trying to transition to 16/19 from 18/20 ( currently playing with speed pro, mostly flat shots, strong intermediate club player, aggressive baseliner who likes to attack)).
Thanks
Alex
The control is pretty good with the ATS Tour 98, just as much as the Strike 98, if not a little better, and slightly less of that muted feel. That Tour 98 is definitely worth a try, as well as the Boom Pro, and I have enjoyed hitting with the TF40 305 16x19 lately. Troy, TW

Hi, guys! Great review. How does this racket compare to the VCORE PRO 97 (310) 2019?
This ATS Textreme Tour 98 provides a bit easier access to power, while the VCORE Pro 97 offers slightly more control, and feel.
- Andrew, TW

my forehand covered with the ezone with the poly tour rev is more penetrating, I wanted to buy this prince because I wanted more feel and I found it, to compensate for the lack of penetration of the shot better try a new string or better add some lead?
We enjoy the Solinco Hyper-G, and Tour Bite for lots of spin potential. Hyper-G feels a bit more comfortable than Tour Bite, which is pretty firm. They both also come in Soft versions. Some other strings with a lot of bite and spin, are Volkl Cyclone, Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable, and Tecnifibre 4S. Troy, TW
Hi, can you compare this vs Head speed pro 2022 - Spin, comfort, control and power -Thanks
@jakob olesen,
Personally, I find the Tour 98 to feel a bit softer and offer a bit easier power as well as more spin vs. the Speed Pro which feels more controlled and precise, as well as a bit more firm to me. Hope that helps. I would say both swing relatively the same speed and for me feel explosive yet still stable! If you are looking for more control, the Speed Pro might be the play but I personally love how the Tour 98 offers me a blend of control, power and access to spin paired with good plow through!

How does this racquet compare to the Tecnifibre TF40 305 16x19?
Troy, TW
That’s my friend Derrick’s house!

Any news on if there's an o3 version on the way like the last versions of the texreme tours?
How does it compare to the Wilson Blade v9? More or less control? Better or not for flat shot and slice?
And how about DR98 vs TT 98/100P?

how is the power level compared to the synergy 98 and ezone 98?

Troy, TW

How does it compare to the power & spin of the Babolat Pure Aero (Rafa)? Very similar specs apart from head size.

Sounds more and more interesting as I play with the blade. How would you rate this 3 (ezone blade tour98) for spin ?
How would you compare this to the Iga/300 RS, seems quite similar?
@C D,
They don't play that similar to me as the Iga (are you speaking about the 298?) is quite a bit stiffer and feels firmer as well as speedier. So it whips through the air quite a bit quicker and has less feel than this Tour 98. I find a bit more control in the Tour 98 and a bit more plow through as well.

i have 2 of these racquets. do you know what is a good tennis string up and tension?

Troy, TW

Hey tw, how does this racket compared to the yonex vcore 98?
Slightly more comfortable with this ATS Tour 98, and I also found a bit more feel or connection to the ball on slice and flatter drives. which one is the most powerful among 310, 100p and 98?
We'd give the slight edge in power to the Tour 100 (310), as the 16x18 pattern really helps give the racquets some easy energy return, considering these are Tour racquets. If you really want to crank up the power, go with the Ripstick! Troy, TW

Great question! It just feels better in my hands and I feel more confident with it in my hands -- some of it I can't necessarily put into words (but hope that makes sense!) :)

So it's the beast 98
Not quite. This one seems to offer a bit more feel, and a bit more comfort. The Beast 98 packed a bit more lively response, and was thicker at the tip of the frame, 25mm at the tip, as well as this Tour 98 being a little thinner in the throat. Troy, TW
