    I play with these here in Japan. Love the simplicity and stability.

    I love this racquet. Great connected solid feel great comfortable on the arm. I don't detect any flutter though. Might be because I added 2g lead at 12 oclock to bring the balance point towards my preferred 323mm strung.

    Glad you popped on my screen couldnt even pull you up in manual search. Have you tried Twist Power yet? Hunch not but hearing good things. How about Prince Phantom? Buttery smooth sounds nice but not too articulatevor descript good show. 👍👍
    My current prospects bisect the Yonex Regna lll and Wilson ProStaff but will buy closer to spring when reviews tell a broader story. More focused on some Asics Court FF's man that is a hard shoe to lassoo!

      I love the Prince Phantom 100X 18x20. I have not tried the Twist Power yet. I know a Prince dealer in Hawaii so I will ask him if I can try it out in the future.

    Nice review of the ATS 98.
    Just to correct some mis-info, the Radical series does *not* have a cap grommet. That would be the Prestige. The vast majority of the stability you noticed in the Radical Pro comes from the layup, not so much the grommets.

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you're right. This was my mistake. I actually owned a used Graphene Radical Pro that had a full cap grommet so I assumed this generation had them but I guess only the one I owned had the caps.

    Another great 305 98 inch racquet alongside the ezone, blade, boom pro, technfibre t-fight and tf40

    Thanks for your many good reviews. I noticed you also reviewed the dr 98, a racquet I also have. I am interested in the ATS 98 as my next racquet, but I was wondering how the DR98 and ATS 98 compare in terms of launch angle and control. Did you feel more comfortable swinging out with one of the two racquets?

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I feel both rackets perform similarly but I felt more comfortable with the Prince 98. It seems to have a bit more control whereas the DR 98 feels more powerful. Also, the Prince 98 is much softer thatn the DR IMO. I recommend demoing the Prince 98 before purchasing to see for yourself.

    Do you find that putting weight in the handle improves the maneuverability of the racquet? I struggle with this. I keep thinking of a hammer. If I grab the hammer by the heavy part, does it really make the stick side more maneuverable?

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I definitely feel putting weight under the buttcap improves maneuverability. I put tungsten putty under the buttcap of every racket I own.

    • @akbarberlian

      How much putty (gram)?

    How is the maneuverability compared to the new 100p?

    • @AMstringing
      @AMstringing 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aloha, The swingweight measurement of the racquet will determine how maneuverable it is. Of the racquets that I've measured so far, they're comparable to each other. The unstrung swingweight measurement of the 100P and 98 is 293 +/-3 units. I hope this helps.

    Great review. What kind of tennis string u put in your playtest? And what do you think about the head.lynx tour in this racket?

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I don't remember what string I tried in this. I believe it was the Prince Vortex. Head Lynx Tour is my favorite poly currently and I think it will play great in just about anything. The 98 coupled with the lynx tour's stiffness will boost the overall control level.

    • @opencourt808

      Definitely the Boom Pro. It feels more head light and is more spin friendly IMO

  • @devinmoose
    @devinmoose ปีที่แล้ว

    Interesting that you find the racquet on the head heavy side. It's 6 points headlight with strings, and a 325 swingweight.

    • @ondybandung6096
      @ondybandung6096 ปีที่แล้ว

      NOT head heavy
      It is head light

      Even thought the balance on paper is headlight, the weight distribution can be so that the racket feels top heavy when swinging it.

    Hello there, how would you compare this racquet to the radical mp ? Thank you !

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are both very similar but I think the Radical MP will swing a bit faster and be more maneuverable. I can't comment on feel and comfort since I don't know what version of the radical you're referring to

    Hi, did you try the Phantom 100X line, 290 grams and 305 grams compared to the ATS Tour line? thanks

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't tried the latest editions but I own the Phantom 100X 18x20 and I really like it. However it is very underpowered compared to the ATS Tour 100s.

    • @davidlever3107

      @@opencourt808 100X 18x20 is a demanding racket, I am using the Phantom 100P (2020 version) since one year, and it's a great racket but its too demanding for my level, epecially for the one handed backhand I would need a lighter frame, more maneuverable, less flexy, to be able to accelerate fast....I have tried the Phantom 107G but is too big, tried also the Wilson RF97L v12 but I miss the "Prince feel", and power and spin on the forehand. So I was looking for another frame in the Prince catalogue, but it's not easy.

    What do you recommend between textreme tour 98 vs head radical?

    • @opencourt808
      @opencourt808  ปีที่แล้ว

      They both play pretty much the same. Same head size and weight and balance are identical. The Radical's beam is a little thinner. I recommend just demoing both and see which you like better.

    Similar to ezone 98 right? 98 16/19 not that spinny, control, flat finish capability
