It's weird, cause even though I think it's cool this "normal people vibe" that celebrities use to have, I find it very intriguing when I notice that this is what made possible for him to get shot in the first place.
The press may have eaten him up for being so outspoken on things like war and peace and drugs but he was one helluva songwriter. John Lennon is more than just a member of The Beatles. He is an icon.
Rest in piece John Lennon and George Harrison. I miss them both so much. Can you imagine if they were both still here and the Beatles all reunited today?
Life is very strange. I m here in 2021, with 24 years old, loving a song from 73, of a man who has already passed away. Mom was only 5 when it was dropped... His songs travel through the ages.
I think this song and this video are my favorite thing Mr. Lennon ever did. Seeing him stroll through New York, acting goofy, laughing, interacting with people, it's so humanizing, reminds you how good he was at bringing people together.
And to think he didn't realize how much everyone truly loved him. Many of his problems came from the fact he didn't feel good enough. It's crazy he didn't see in himself all the beautiful things everyone else did.

I was 15 years old when John Lennon was murdered. I went to the record store to buy his latest release, "Double Fantasy" in December 1980. The store was packed with people and the "Double Fantasy" vinyl album lined the shelves from one end of the store to the other. I remember that day like it was yesterday.
I'm a native New Yorker from the lower Eastside, and I remember many times walking through Central Park on the upper west side and seeing John Lennon walking with his wife and son in a stroller. No body guards, no security people, and NO ONE every fucked with him. He would greet everyone who passed him. Until that no good for nothing bastard came along and took this peaceful man's life. Yoko once said that as long as she's alive, that prick will remain behind bars. Now 43 years after John's death, he's still rotting in a prison cell. I hope Yoko lives a very long life.
His humor; his love of life, and the talent he expressed in every single one of his songs have stood the test of time in every culture around the world-and will continue to endear generations whose great-grandparents haven’t even been born yet. J Yes and he was probably watching 👀 Monday Night Football in December 1980 When Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford announced it! Not only were we sad we were Pissed Off. Be cause now we knew the Beatles would never reunite again. Football and Death that night didn't mix. Next Day nobody was talking about that Game🏈
@@KB-eo9bu OMG, you're right! My dad was watching football, that's how we hear about it! Wow, kind of amazing to me that you put the two together, but now that I think of it, in those days, that was probably the only live telecast at that hour. Yep, anger and sadness.
Look how happy John is in this video and how he shares his happiness with children and adults alike. What a tragic loss to lose someone like him who through his music and outlook on life made life a little better for all of us. RIP JOHN.😢
Yep, he paid a heavy price for mixing freely with the people. But what's the alternative for a star of his stature, hiding away in a Beverley Hills mansion. That's a sort of death too.
Just stopped back once more to listen to this Music From Heaven. Mr. Lennon we say "Hello". Make Love Not War - how that resonates right now and wished you could reach MORE people for the benefit of ALL Humanity!!! Imagine!
@@patlaw398 I think we'd all have problems growing up thinking or knowing our parents didn't want us.then becoming most famous man on planet. Lennon was drug hereon addiction but yoko got him clean in 1970.
I stood outside the Dakota one day when he was still alive, but not in town and I sobbed for over an hour non-stop. Not because he was supposedly in Japan, but because I was so close and breathing the same air. He has had a profound affect on me and I still can't completely explain why.
@cboyle707 Since argon is a component of air, actually 20 times more abundant than carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, every atom of argon that we inhale are then exhaled essentially unchanged and goes back into circulation. In every breath we take, we inhale and exhale 10¹⁸ atoms of argon. These atoms, remain in the atmosphere essentially unchanged, to be inhaled again and again throughout time. It is certain, therefore, that in every breath you take, you have inhaled at least several atoms of argon that have also been inhaled by Einstein, and Newton before him, Mohammad, Christ, and John Lennon etc. So even in his absence from your proximity , you may well have breathed in some Argon which was once in John Lennon's lungs We are all connected this way❤

That is a bit of a myth. Yes, he was a provocateur, a rebel, he could rile you up. He also wouldn´t bullshit, so he could be brutally honest. But by most accounts of what he was like in private says he was very sweet and humane.
Johns singing voice was so spectacular and his style so ahead of his time. We all love Pauls vocals as well. The way John presented himself in the early Beatles was top of the line wouldn't you say? But all of them were pretty awesome

I'm sitting here thinking back, remembering 1974. How the world was slower. Me, spending summer days with live music in the park. Having a beer, smoking a joint under a willow tree while a gentle breeze assured me everything will be okay. Hanging out with friends in person. Now it's by phone or 6 feet apart. The breeze is no longer gentle. It brings smoke from California wildfires. I can still have a beer and smoke a joint but it will take 20 years to rebuild the global economy. The best years of our generation will remain behind us. [Unless we do something about it.]
Life is better without alcohol. I was just like John Lennon (aside from having the same first name & my maternal Grandfather having been from Liverpool before immigrating here in ‘48 when John was 8 years old). He was a miserable drunk like me. Great guy a couple drinks in but then would drink way too much & lose control & turn mean at times. Happy I gave that up almost 10 years ago...

I don't know how anyone can hate this. John's so happy, giving to children and enjoying himself. This is my favorite song from Lennon.
@@Gumshrud Yep! It's one of the first songs from Lennon that I ever listened to and learned on piano.
He's Jesus
Hate??
@@ericsays8801 no he's not, but i kinda agree
Yes, it sounds like he is blissful yet still reaching for greater heights.
Look how happy John is in this video and how he shares his happiness with children and adults alike. What a tragic loss to lose someone like him who through his music and outlook on life made life a little better for all of us. RIP JOHN.😢
He 👀 at those kids n wonderin if there dad is a monster like him 🌈
This song never gets old 💕🙏🏻
It was already stale the moment it dropped
makes me cry just watching how happy he was and knowing the way he was taken from us
Right???? Makes me sick too.
Yep, he paid a heavy price for mixing freely with the people. But what's the alternative for a star of his stature, hiding away in a Beverley Hills mansion. That's a sort of death too.
@@AdityaMishraOG No, lo asesinaron por ser pacifista e influir en tantas personas.
John Lennon was such a special person. We were blessed to have him (for such a short while) on this planet.
as you are
he was an abuser actually
@@chetoguitar2372 Didn't seem 'an abuser' in the video - maybe everyone in the video could have been 'an abuser' actually?

Just stopped back once more to listen to this Music From Heaven. Mr. Lennon we say "Hello". Make Love Not War - how that resonates right now and wished you could reach MORE people for the benefit of ALL Humanity!!! Imagine!
The ONLY person he ever cared bout was himself n makin sure he had enough dope 4 the day 🌈
Stopped back once again. Thank you Mr. Lennon for everything. You made the world a far better place and more than you will ever know.
This hurts deeply. It cuts my soul. What a genius. Gone too soon.
I wish he'd took security more seriously especially at the time of his shooting when new York was very violent.
He was a cheap nasty fuck n seriously wtf do u expect from a junkie fiend ❓❓❓❓❓❓❓
@@patlaw398 I think we'd all have problems growing up thinking or knowing our parents didn't want us.then becoming most famous man on planet. Lennon was drug hereon addiction but yoko got him clean in 1970.
Ok ...tho it’s spelled heroin
Though
John is a true legend. He may be gone, but his music is immortal.
And in my eyes that makes him immortal.

I stood outside the Dakota one day when he was still alive, but not in town and I sobbed for over an hour non-stop. Not because he was supposedly in Japan, but because I was so close and breathing the same air. He has had a profound affect on me and I still can't completely explain why.
Wow...outta way 2 many fawning posts...u actually managed to outdo ALL OF EM
That's powerful. Thank you for sharing that memory and moment.
@cboyle707
Since argon is a component of air, actually 20 times more abundant than carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, every atom of argon that we inhale are then exhaled essentially unchanged and goes back into circulation.
So even in his absence from your proximity , you may well have breathed in some Argon which was once in John Lennon's lungs
We are all connected this way❤

Still missing John after all these years. Such a devastating loss. He didn't deserve his fate at the end.
Susan I have a short time to go due to cancer, but I tell you what, after fighting in the war, I've soaked life in like a drink of water, peace out

What a handsome, delightful man. I love seeing him with those kids. He looks so kind. I know he had his moments, he wasn't always nice, but this song and this video picks out the best of him.
How could it be that 4 young boys just happened to get together in Liverpool and change the world?
That is a bit of a myth. Yes, he was a provocateur, a rebel, he could rile you up. He also wouldn´t bullshit, so he could be brutally honest. But by most accounts of what he was like in private says he was very sweet and humane.
He was docile from bein high n all the domestic abuse he suffered from ono 🌈
Johns singing voice was so spectacular and his style so ahead of his time. We all love Pauls vocals as well. The way John presented himself in the early Beatles was top of the line wouldn't you say? But all of them were pretty awesome
Late March 2023: heard this song played on a fading channel in Santa Barbara, CA on my way home the other night. This is one of , if not his BEST song!!! RIP Mr. John Lennon I respect your talent and will never forget those hours of musical entertainment you provided your Loyal Fans!!!

This melody and singing voice are beautiful and match well with the image video, and it reminds me of those days. It’s a shame that we can’t hear John Lennon songs live anymore .
John Lennon único, fenomenal, incomparável,,,,,,,sem palavras...
@Frank Is that supposed to be a slam against BLM?
Fie,,,on you XI 😎
Life is better without alcohol. I was just like John Lennon (aside from having the same first name & my maternal Grandfather having been from Liverpool before immigrating here in ‘48 when John was 8 years old). He was a miserable drunk like me. Great guy a couple drinks in but then would drink way too much & lose control & turn mean at times. Happy I gave that up almost 10 years ago...
