MIND GAMES
We're playing those mind games together
Pushing the barriers, planting seeds
Playing the mind guerrilla
Chanting the mantra 'Peace On Earth'
We all been playing those mind games forever
Dome kinda druid dude lifting the veil
Doing the mind guerrilla
Some call it magic - the search for the grail
Love is the answer and you know that for sure
Love is a flower you got to let it, you got to let it grow
So keep on playing those mind games together
Faith in the future out of the now
You just can't beat on those mind guerillas
Absolute elsewhere in the stones of your mind
Yeah we're playing those mind games forever
Projecting our images in space and in time
'Yes' is the answer - and you know that for sure
Yes is surrender - you got to let it, you got to let it go
So keep on playing those mind games together
Doing the ritual dance in the sun
Millions of mind guerillas
Putting their Soul Power to the karmic wheel
Keep on playing those mind games forever
Raising the spirit of peace and love
Love
I want you to make love not war
I know you've heard it before
I want you to make love not war
I know you've heard it before

From the album Mind Games (1973).
ABOUT THE FILM
On 15 November 1974, a BBC film crew for 'Old Grey Whistle Test', spent a day filming with John around Central Park and various other locations in New York, to make a video for the song "Whatever Gets You Thru The Night", directed by John. The video was never broadcast, but a small amount of the footage emerged as a very short edit for the song “#9 Dream” in February 1975.
In 2003, for the Lennon Legend DVD release, Yoko Ono purchased all the original camera film reels at auction, which were very aged and damaged from decay and scratching and, working with film editor Simon Hilton, cleaned them up and assembled this incredibly charismatic narrative of John, obviously greatly enjoying himself on a beautiful sunny autumnal day out in New York.
'That was a fun track because the voice is in stereo and the seeming orchestra on it is just me playing three notes with slide guitar. And the middle eight is reggae.'

Life is very strange. I m here in 2021, with 24 years old, loving a song from 73, of a man who has already passed away. Mom was only 5 when it was dropped... His songs travel through the ages.
Nice comment
Yes... it's interesting, no?
Welcome to the matrix !
You are a blessed soul.
John Lennon is a master genus. Keep listening my friend.
I'm a native New Yorker from the lower Eastside, and I remember many times walking through Central Park on the upper west side and seeing John Lennon walking with his wife and son in a stroller. No body guards, no security people, and NO ONE every fucked with him. He would greet everyone who passed him. Until that no good for nothing bastard came along and took this peaceful man's life. Yoko once said that as long as she's alive, that prick will remain behind bars. Now 43 years after John's death, he's still rotting in a prison cell. I hope Yoko lives a very long life.
Ya she’s been in africa gettin sum Mandingo so she good 🌚🦾1️⃣💯

There will never be another John Lennon. RIP Mr. Lennon

Peace to the Supreme Being John Lennon there will never be another Beatles either

Thankfully
The press may have eaten him up for being so outspoken on things like war and peace and drugs but he was one helluva songwriter. John Lennon is more than just a member of The Beatles. He is an icon.

Amazing bassline and the slide guitar “orchestra” played by John
This song also seems strange to me, that sound so from the 60s and 70s, so tragic, his voice so strange in this song, with tranquility and at the same time suspense, a song like from a dream where you sleep deeply and you travel in the dream and unreality. Although I was born in 1989, those 70s seem untouchable, the people there were superhuman, very far from my reality, it is such a strange feeling.
@@josiahwhit5730 Nice description. I feel like Lennon himself was in some ways living through a dream from the mid-70s on. Trying to live something like a normal life in the present, trying to figure out what to do, who to be. But always with the truly extraordinary -- almost cosmic -- legacy of the Beatles looming over him. This and Dream Number 9 capture that dreamlike feeling of being suspended between the 60s past and some difficult-to-imagine future.

Since argon is a component of air, actually 20 times more abundant than carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, every atom of argon that we inhale are then exhaled essentially unchanged and goes back into circulation.
In every breath we take, we inhale and exhale 10¹⁸ atoms of argon.
These atoms, remain in the atmosphere essentially unchanged, to be inhaled again and again throughout time.
It is certain, therefore, that in every breath you take, you have inhaled at least several atoms of argon that have also been inhaled by Einstein, and Newton before him, Mohammad, Christ, and John Lennon etc.
So even in his absence from your proximity , you may well have breathed in some Argon which was once in John Lennon's lungs

I'm sitting here thinking back, remembering 1974. How the world was slower. Me, spending summer days with live music in the park. Having a beer, smoking a joint under a willow tree while a gentle breeze assured me everything will be okay. Hanging out with friends in person. Now it's by phone or 6 feet apart. The breeze is no longer gentle. It brings smoke from California wildfires. I can still have a beer and smoke a joint but it will take 20 years to rebuild the global economy. The best years of our generation will remain behind us. [Unless we do something about it.]

RIP and long live John Lennon (October 9, 1940 - December 8, 1980), aged 40
You will always be remembered as a legend.
damn lennon its just 40 years
Yes I agree John Lennon a awesome singer and song writer a legend
This video of John Lennon singing is amazing and I personally want to watch it over and over again.
John maybe an artist with the most honour statues on the planet. From Havana down to Lima, Almeria to Vilnus, also all Beatles monuments in Kazakhstan, Austria, Germany, Ukraine, Russia, Mongolia, etc.
Just how influential the man was! RIP
U mentioned a ton of corrupt countries....was that just honesty or stupidity ❓❓❓❓❓❓❓
I hear he’s the village idiot in Zimbabwe 🌚🦾
The first time I saw my dad cry was when John Lennon was killed. It’s still sad when I see this, such a cool, handsome man.
@@Gumshrud1 oh well, thems the breaks, Gregory.
@@j.6023 the arrow of time.
Why was he such a threat that he had to die.It didn"t seem so at the time but with hindsight, you have to wonder...
J Yes and he was probably watching 👀 Monday Night Football in December 1980 When Howard Cosell and Frank Gifford announced it! Not only were we sad we were Pissed Off. Be cause now we knew the Beatles would never reunite again. Football and Death that night didn't mix. Next Day nobody was talking about that Game🏈
@@KB-eo9bu OMG, you're right! My dad was watching football, that's how we hear about it! Wow, kind of amazing to me that you put the two together, but now that I think of it, in those days, that was probably the only live telecast at that hour. Yep, anger and sadness.
I don't know how anyone can hate this. John's so happy, giving to children and enjoying himself. This is my favorite song from Lennon.
@@Gumshrud Yep! It's one of the first songs from Lennon that I ever listened to and learned on piano.
He's Jesus
Hate??
@@ericsays8801 no he's not, but i kinda agree
Yes, it sounds like he is blissful yet still reaching for greater heights.
Yes I'm the one of John my favorite all time avid fan he is my idol artist
The biggest phenomenon in rock music ever. Only Dylan comes anywhere near him.
🇵🇸💯
N his name is jacob zimmerstein
Just imagine seeing him as he flaneured through NYC on a sunny day, decked out in his rock-star outfit; what a thrill that must have been, for young and old alike. "Is that really him? Yes it is!"
exactly
We miss you John..it's been far to long.
43 years 12/8/1980.
I was a 7yr old up sick with strep throat. Mom was giving me hot tea with honey, lemon (and a little brandy in it) to help me sleep. Dad was watching Monday night football because The Patriots where playing.
I remember Howard Cosell announcing it over the game... I thought i was in a daze because the tea kicked in. I never payed attention to the news back then, our world was much smaller, this was Before MTV, CNN etc.
I remember watching the news and seeing all the people around the Dakota. I remember the memorial they had a few days later in Central Park, right where Strawberry Fields is. I could not believe all the people there.. it definitely changed/effected my outlook in life and how I look at the world in general..
That was a sad day in 1980 . Right before Christmas
42 years.

I wish this day had never been.
A Lennon classic. We miss and love you John ❤
Probably my favourite John Lennon track
Yes
No
I remember watching Monday Night Football 40 years ago today, December 8, 1980. The Miami Dolphins vs The New England Patriots. I remember rooting for one team, although I cant remember which, because it had some sort of potential playoff implications for my Buffalo Bills. Towards the end of the regulation game, a scroll came across the bottom of the screen saying a former Beatle had been shot in NYC. It didn't say who, or what kind of physical condition they were in. Immediately, I thought of Paul McCartney. Paul had been busted for Marijuana possession in Japan earlier that year, and although improbable, the only thing I could think of was maybe some kind of drug deal gone bad. I remember hoping he'd be okay. Then, a short while later, Howard Cosell interrupted the game and said it was John Lennon, that he had been shot in the back, that he was rushed to the hospital, and that he was pronounced dead on arrival. I remember standing up from my chair in disbelief. All of a sudden, this game that meant so much to me only moments earlier meant absolutely nothing. The impact of knowing the Beatles would never, ever reunite was overwhelming. And that a man of peace was so brutally gunned down for no apparent reason was really unbearable at the time. My heart goes out to his family on this sad anniversary. Rest in Peace John Lennon.
Well said unbelievable that could happen
I remember my mother telling me 8am before going to school,,shook the world
@@fmonk3366 - It's America. It isn't unbelievable at all that it happened.
@@kdphotos4691 I guess your right
I teared up watching this. He always had so much fun being silly around people. He worked hard and played hard. He really deserved to grow old.

Macca's melody is unsurpassed; but Lennon's charisma is out of this world. I'll take charisma any day now. Lennon Legend.
John Lennon es inmortal.
Sigue presente cada vez que alguien en el mundo escucha una de sus obras de arte.
Gracias por tanta maestría John!
One of the best songs ever. Timelessness....
Mindlessness
One of the best Singers of this world. He is perfect.
I'm in 100% agreement!
Classic song ! Love ya John ! From the Irish ☘️
U ain’t ☘️ ur a brit
Lennon the Greatest Rock voice ever
Ur a dbmfer 4 sure ☠️
"Love is the answer....and you know that for sure"
This is my favorite John Lennon song. He knew that it all began in the mind. "I think therefore I am."
Everything begins in the mind. Good thoughts, good words, good deeds and then it spreads worldwide if enough people believe it to be true.
Love is the strongest emotion and will overcome any other emotion.
makes me cry just watching how happy he was and knowing the way he was taken from us
Right???? Makes me sick too.
Yep, he paid a heavy price for mixing freely with the people. But what's the alternative for a star of his stature, hiding away in a Beverley Hills mansion. That's a sort of death too.
@@AdityaMishraOG No, lo asesinaron por ser pacifista e influir en tantas personas.
This song goes so deep. Love is the Answer, always, ever, now!
Yes I agree a awesome song John Lennon, wrote awesome songs ❣️
its the only.. Answer
Love is a destroyer
I actually like more the "Absolute Elsewhere" concept.
@@Polo-po what the f*** did you just say that makes no sense
This melody and singing voice are beautiful and match well with the image video, and it reminds me of those days. It’s a shame that we can’t hear John Lennon songs live anymore .
John struggled and was lost and came back with the answer that we all know is true!
Ya slammin dope n smokin Thai weed….all while tellin the masses just eat 🍣
He looks so happy signing autographs
He’s with young untroubled souls...ever wonder why he’s in black?

Can you imagine the music going on in the heavens/universe now? With so many beautiful artists there just waiting for all of us. This undoubtedly is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and sung. We should all thank our lucky stars we have the honor to listen to this masterpiece. That we can hear and let this touch our souls.... even today. John Lennon , thank you for always making my eyes well up with this piece from your soul. Leaving us far too early, but hopefully writing similar beauties for us when we see you again. 🎶🤍
He was right so many times... love is the answer
Was he ever wrong 🌈
