@@soleywolfgangsdottir As far as I know, it's a song about self-reflection and emotional exploration, overcoming the fear of changes. But I don't know the particular reasons, why she wrote it.
@yubogolfer4040 it is part of a set of songs about the folk legend of the selkie women. you can get the whole picture of this on her album at the heart of a selkie. the statue in mikladalur is about the same story.
Eivør Pálsdóttir is a Faroese singer and songwriter. This song is in Faroese, there is also a version in English called Into the Mist. Although personally I much prefer this Faroese version. The landscape is the Faroe Islands. The song is about being lost in the hills as a child and feeling as though some dark spirit might be after you. Things to know about Eivør. She doesn't really follow any specific genre of music. It's possible to find examples of her singing in most musical styles. Also she is incredible live. Some live performances to try. Eivor is the greatest vocalist on the planet. AURORA is Norwegian. Eivor is from the Faroe Islands. She throat sings, however it is just Eivor's version of Beatbox. Vocally she can and does do anything. This is one of the songs Eivor does at Heavy Metal festivals. I own 10 Eivor albums. Anything live by Eivor is gold.
@thevikingbuddha You will love Kalandra's No fairytale. The music and the video fits perfect. It's beutiful but with a sceary undertone. Infact Kalandra have no bad songs and the videos are Great.
Oh Eivor - the shield maiden of Nordic music. I love her music so much. And the Faroese language is so beautiful.

"Salt" at the Train Warehouse from her is also a strong recommendation. But seriously, she can't create a bad song.
@yubogolfer4040 do you know the story behind salt?
