The baby was born during an eclipse. This had a special significance in many ancient cultures. Some believed a child born under an eclipse was cursed, while others believed such a child was "of the goddess" and would have healing powers and be one with nature. Some ancient Norse tribes also believed that the sun and moon were constantly pursued by two wolves. When the wolf Skoll ate the sun, a solar eclipse occurred. When the wolf Hati ate the moon, the result was a lunar eclipse. If the wolves were to ever dine at the same time, Ragnarok, or the end of the world, would follow. To delay the end of the world, people made noises during the eclipse to frighten the wolves and bring back the sun or moon. It's just a guess, but I like to think this is the celebration around the fire shown in the video - people drumming, banging antlers together, and generally carrying on.
She was looking for her "Spirit Animal". You seen her shake her head at the moose, and nothing, and when she found the umingmak (musk ox) it let her approach and pet. when she became old enough they "melded" into one at the very end of the video. Very beautiful story. That was my take. much love ♥!
I tell a different story. She was born to be the Empress of the Forest. As a child she learns all the secret magics and languages of the forest. Then, before her coronation she must defeat all the old kings. The Musk Ox was last to kneel before she could be crowned and declare war on all mankind.
Heilung is a gateway into times past and forgotten memories. Heilung reaches something in our souls which drives us to recall forgotten memories from days past and we mourn for things we have never known in this life. They are Magnificent!!
Bought our tickets for Stockholm months ago and it was just “guest”. Couple of days ago got notice that Eivor is the “guest”👍 We just saw her with the Danish National Orchestra performance of Games X and going to see her in Goteberg in 2 weeks. Heilung and a lot of Eivor, sweet 👍
i do remember tellin ya, Momma, watch the original :) its so amazing, and the ending was maybe a territory thing, she grew up with the beast, but it was time to test each other. idk the whole damn thing is incredible!
I had a Scottish father and an Irish mother and have often wondered whether I have some Viking heritage in my dna. I’m sure I must have because I am increasingly finding myself drawn to this kind of Nordic music and imagery. It is so mesmerising. Maybe I should do a genealogy test? Another super reaction btw. ❤
MY interpettion of the video: In the beginning, we humans were one with nature. As we 'evolved' and time has passed, we start to compete with nature - which is what the last scene illustrates.
If you have a chance, definitelly go see Heilung live! It's an experience that cannot be described. You won't regret. I've seen them already twice and I will buy a ticket when they announce a date for next concert. :D Easilly in my TOP 3 live concert experience (along with Tool and Nightwish).
We live in a time were we have no conection anymore - so we dont understand what we are seeing here - to much Disney and simpliefied stories by Hollywood. So much stolen and misused so no one know anything .. I have heard that the song is about Anoana - who was a volve ( dont know the english word ... because wich is not the right word..read Maria Kvilhaug about the subjekt) and that they are singing the FUTARK - the runes. I think that the video is filmed in Norway - and the animal in the end is living on Dovrefjell and is called Moskus ( a European bison..) Thank you for a nice reaction. Best from Bergen, Norway
Folk/tribal music? :) I would mention two songs which about western part of YT has no clue. ;) First would be: Sound of Triglav - "Zoriuszka" - group from Szczecin singing cossaks` wedding song. 2. Laboratorium Pieśni - "Halele" - female group from Gdansk, singing central/eastern European old/tribal songs.
yes, all the same person (the coin is an indicator). as a young girl she wasn't ready to merge with a deer, but mate with the muskox and finally merged with it at older age. born and merged with the ox under the solar eclipse. thanks for the nice reaction.

I always took the ending as a metaphor for finding her spirit animal
Pure magic!
That video still gives me chills after many, many viewings.

Thank you. Everything you said makes sense to me. 💜
Musk-ox is an entirely different species from any type of Bison/Visent. The Musk-ox, seen here, is closer related to goats.
If you like this song you should check out Wardruna and Aurora Helvegen Live video. 😊
