In most of Europe, Ragnarok is also only known from the cinema, because their ancestors were not Germanic. But the Vikings left their mark all over Europe and most people should know that it was not invented for the cinema.
Brothers of Metal was formed in Sweden in 2012, after a party with lots of alcohol and Manowar. The next morning, there were not only lots of empty bottles, but also a song. Two of the party participants posted the song online on a platform. They entered the title of a Manowar song, Brothers of Metal, as the band name. If they had had less alcohol in their blood, they would have noticed that not every party participant was a brother. A tour manager was looking for a replacement for a canceled band and asked if they would tour. Suddenly the party participants were a band with a problem: they only had one song. They had to throw a new party that lasted until they had enough songs for the tour. They only released the first of three albums in 2017, and the third only recently. Fimbulvinter is one of the events that herald the end of the world:

The video is one of the first, there was no money and the first videos by Saltatio Mortis looked no different. Here they at least have money for costume rental:

Brothers of Metal also only had this one stage costume at first. After a few performances, the sweaty fur costume started to stink and the smell could no longer be removed. And there was no one to switch between.
The Germanic tribes did not use steel shields. For the Germanic tribes, the shields were more like an extended arm that deflected the blows away. They were not meant to stop a blow.
Female singer Ylva Eriksson and growler Joakim Lindbäck Eriksson are siblings.

The two vocalists are brother and sister. And the band is all a group of friends.
As far as the video, im sure its on purpose. They are quite silly in many of their videos so the "low budget" is probably how it was intended. Im sure you will notice if you see more of them 😎

Norse mythology in general is very interesting and cool, I really suggest to invest some time reading about it, it would also give you much more insight in the lyrics of these songs from Brothers of Metal since they are quite faithful to Norse folklore.
I've met quite a lot of people that think that Ragnarok and other stuff mentioned (and very much distorted) in marvel movies originated in modern marvel cinema, it's quite sad :(

I always confuse Brothers of Metal, All for Metal and Metal de Facto. I have heard that there are actual siblings in this band, so it kind of makes sense, but this general trend has me asking questions.
This is really mean but the first thing that pop in to my head with All for metal is: “When you order Brothers of Metal from Wish”. Similar name, similar song titles, looks kind of similar 🤷♂.

When I do these reactions, in most cases I don’t know anything about the band or song I am about to check out. My comments are strictly based on the name of the band. My assumption going into the song was that they were related.
Vikings didn’t have metal shields 🙄. The shields are a lot more historically accurate than the clothes.
This is the first single from their first album and they weren’t signed to a label at the time so they probably didn’t have a huge budget for the video.
The female vocalist is part of the band, she has a fantastic voice but you can’t really tell from this song. Some songs that I think you would like more than Prophecy of Ragnarök: Yggdrasil, Kaunaz Dagaz, Ride of the Valkyries, Njord.

About the song's lore: in Norse mythology Nanna is the wife of Baldur and when Baldur is killed by a mistletoe dart (because of a trick played by Loki) Nanna dies of grief, she is buried in ship with Baldur and the ship burnt and set to the sea, they are then reunited in Hel (one of the possible places for afterlife) and they wander together while trying to find a way to bring Baldur back to life. This is a very compacted version of it but it's a beautiful story

In fact, many shields were made from Linden wood (which is fairly soft and light) covered with raw goat leather. The only metal parts were the nails and the central boss. And they were pretty thin and lightweight. About 10 to 12 mm in the centre and only 3 to 5 mm at the edge. Total weight around 3.5 to 4 kg. That may seem not nearly enough, but the main goal of a shield is not to block an attack but to deflect it.
Plus; hauling a 15kg, 5cm thick oak board across the battlefield will tire you out in no time. You won't last 5 minutes.
