Dude, you are so real in your approach to offroading and building your Bronco. I'm hooked on your channel and I'm watching really close to see how you develop your rig. Great job on ALL your content
Thanks so much man! I really try and build it modestly compared to what you’d normally see on TH-cam. And I only modify it I’ve identified a need. But I’m so glad you’re liking my stuff!
@OFFTHEGRIND I am really hyper focused on any problems that are being experienced such as your frozen steering, what causes the problems and what the fixed are. They are putting the HOSS 3.0 steering in the Badlands for '24 so I do feel better about that. Right off the bat I'm going with the same track you are using, a dual battery Genesis system, and an air compressor. All else will come over the first year of ownership depending on need. Hopefully I can get out to San Juan to see my brother next year. Maybe our paths will cross one day
Such a beautiful trail. And gnarly adventure!!!! Congrats on conquering your plan and wild ride! Must feel great achieving this type of overland trip. Love the bronco, but miss your taco
Thanks so much! It was a fun trip for sure but man it was long lol! I miss the taco too. It’s my brothers now so I need to get in a trip with him so y’all can see it again
Another great ride along with you - through video of course. Incredibly gorgeous country! Your honesty with the ups and downs of overlanding, I believe, is what prepares and informs people to make the right choices for themselves. 👍👍
Thanks so much! I want to give people as real if a look at my trips as possible. Put them in the environment with me. So I’m glad to hear that that information is helpful to some.
Very nice out there I grew up along the west coast originally from Oregon had family in Washington and lived in California so finding trails was easy. Now living in the northeast it's not so easy. A coworker wants to plan a trip in his Grand Cherokee and me in my Xterra. Once we find a route, we are going to have a blast.
Section 3 ended up being my favorite of the whole trip. We did the same thing and camped early. Wished we would've went just a bit further on. Those views on the ridge were the best. The entry into the washout was a lot scarier than the off camber exit. Great camera work. Love reliving this route with this series.
Yeah it was one of my favorite as well. I remember completing it and thinking that that section was the best. But then section 6 made me double think that. I enjoyed the entry! What’s scary to me about the washout is the lack of anything to catch you if you were to tip. The entry had that at least
Well done. Look forward to the next vids for sure. Maybe I'll do this next year. You vids on the Owyhees were beautiful, so that area is absolutely on my list. Thanks for the hard work. ❤
Thank you! The owyhees are something I think about daily and I’m not even joking. I LOVE it there and yes you absolutely have to get there. But this trip is pretty epic as well
Scout that climb before the beehive, last time there was a rock sticky off the ground high enough and didn’t have enough clearance on my 4runner to continue forward, wasn’t fun backing down that section.
Dang bro, what happen to your windshield, got a hella sweet crack in it. I guess the WABDR wasn't nice to you ? Also the red pickle in Ellensburg has some great tacos and brews. Def check it out next time your around there. Great video and love the views man..
These dang broncos have near vertical windshields, much like Jeeps, so rocks that other cars would deflect crack these. I was headed to the trail when I got the initial crack and it spread QUICKLY once I got off pavement. But thanks man!
Those super off camber part of the trails would be a lot more comfortable on 37+ inch tyres. But what can i say it's your car, right? 😅😂. Great video, mate.
They’re all velcro and stick to the bronco hard top (with the liner) easily. If you don’t have that it won’t be possible. Do you have a bronco or a Tacoma? Or something else? I know people have a lot of difficulty with the Tacoma headliner as well
@@OFFTHEGRIND yea I completely understand! As a bronco driver do you also use the bronco trail app for your planned drives or do you map it out on your own?
Was waiting for a video of an area I know. Between you and TSTN guy, it's like the Bear Gryles of off roading. Now you've proven me right. You guys are the reason things like Off-Rodeo exist. Either you are over-dramaticizing the terrain or you're new. Which one? And if you are over doing it, then say so, so new people can understand what they're REALLY getting into. SMH. So sad. Exhibit one for the haters: "the lady on a bike on the other side of the washout". Does she look like a pro mountain biker? Is she the embodiment of peak physical shape to tackle such a crazy environment? How much water is she carrying? Tools? Sleeping gear? Food for a day or more? I was hoping that this wasn't truth, but........ugh........so sad. Posers! Hate to bring back such an 80s term, but yeah. Posers.
Well as I stated, I am not a fan of heights. I also said that I knew I would be fine and have had friends go through it recently who were fine, but it does not change the fact that it causes me more anxiety due to not being able to see the ground out of my windows while being off camber. And no, that lady has no clue how to off road. It was more just a funny story surrounding this obstacle. Also, Shaun is anything but a poser. That dude wheels his rigs to the fullest and is a genuinely good dude. He gets a lot of hate, honestly because I think people are jealous of the life he lives. But the fact is, we all will handle or feel differently in a variety of off road situations. I am not new to off roading, but have had multiple close calls on shelf roads where I just don’t enjoy them. I would imagine in Arizona you have plenty of sketchy shelf roads and maybe you’re used to it. Or maybe you enjoy the thrill and that’s cool. But to call someone a poser because they think or feel differently than you is insane. You are what’s wrong with society. Also, plenty of content on TH-cam for you to find what y oh like. Neither Shaun or I need you bringing your negativity and bullshit to our comment section as we try to entertain our audience that we’ve built.
Thank you I appreciate the feedback. It’s impossible to please everyone and I add the commentary in the way that I experienced it. I’m sorry if that took away from the experience, but that’s my style of editing at the moment
One of the very few channels I can comfortably thumbs up before watching the content. You didn't let us down. 👍
Thanks so much! I truly appreciate that! I never want to let you guys down!
Another great video.

Absolutely gorgeous! Can’t wait to see Section 4!
Love the Drone footage wish your videos was longer really enjoy
It’s surprisingly difficult to film a video like this. Much easier to film when you don’t know the route and it’s all up in the air
Great section completed, I can’t wait for the forth one!
Thanks so much! Yeah the forth on was a fun trail and great to have some company in this one
Great drone work!! Especially by yourself while driving!!
Thank you! Years of practice lol

Next year for sure💪
Mmm what a great video and the bee hive of that trail I would totally understand the anxiety. Can’t wait to do that next year.
Thanks so much man! Section three is super fun and the beehive washout will be easy with the xterra

Hi
Keep up the great work😎👍

We are certainly spoiled for chiara in this section of the countries. I absolutely love it here

Excellent video series question for you what camera gear do you use and drone?
Thank you! I use a Sony a7c with a 24-70 f/2.8 GMII for my primary, GoPro hero 12 black, and a DJI mini 3 pro
Another great video. Looking forward to watching the entire journey.
Thanks so much!
Rad video! 😎
Thanks my man! Thanks for joining the premier as well!
Scout that climb before the beehive, last time there was a rock sticky off the ground high enough and didn’t have enough clearance on my 4runner to continue forward, wasn’t fun backing down that section.
Oh god that sounds super sketchy. No thanks. Luckily I did not have that issue
Dude, its crazy how you can shoot this series like a mini-doc all by yourself. Im hook on your contents!
Thank you! Lots of work but man I love it!
Great series. Thanks for sharing. Any thoughts on adding a light bar? Or you decided against it?
I actually really want a light bar. Even have the cutout wind deflector for the rack
Looks like a great route, putting it on my bucket list. 👍🏻
Thank you sir! It was a fun route for sure and one I can say I’m glad I took on

Haha, I don’t know if it would be any more comfortable on a shelf road like that but it would look better, that’s for sure
Great update! Loved the footage! May I ask what psi you air down to? 👍
Thanks! I aired down to 15 psi. The 3 ply wildpeak R/T 01s are so rough
What is the storage you have above your head around 4:45?? Love the videos!
Thank you! It’s called the attic from Raingler nets. I absolutely love it!
Another good video ! What type of radio do you have ? Is it for emergency? To talk to other wheelers/buddies? Can’t wait for for 2024! Badlands.
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it! It’s a midland MXT-575. It can certainly be used in emergency but I use when I’m on the trail with others
@@OFFTHEGRIND The small red one ? The MXT 575 looks different. It looks more like a CB radio with attached handset via a cord. Just curious. Thanks
@@1matthew1018 ooooh! That’s the garmin inreach mini. It’s a satellite messenger with an SOS function. I use it to keep my wife updated to my location
What equipment you use to film?
I use a Sony a7c as my main camera with a 24-70mm f/2.8 GMII lens. My go pro is a hero 13 black and my drone is a DJI mini 3 pro
Off topic, but how do you stick your patches to the roof?
They’re all velcro and stick to the bronco hard top (with the liner) easily. If you don’t have that it won’t be possible. Do you have a bronco or a Tacoma? Or something else? I know people have a lot of difficulty with the Tacoma headliner as well
@@OFFTHEGRIND Way cool. At first I thought they were stickers.
I wont lie you actually do see the fires everyday lol. 18 years in montana
Oh damn!! So you get burnt out on it then. (Not intended to be a pun lol)
What DJI drone are you using to film?
I use the mini 3 pro. Pretty annoyed too because I didn’t get it that long ago and then they announced the mini 4 pro lol
@@OFFTHEGRIND yea I completely understand! As a bronco driver do you also use the bronco trail app for your planned drives or do you map it out on your own?
I map it out on my own. I use Gaia gps for my travels. I’ve used quite a few other maps but this one is by far my favorite
Hi
That’s the Only reason why I won’t go on section 3… because of the washout
