The more I thought about it the more I realized Adleys batting average on games he catches is a little bit deceiving. He almost always DH’s against lefties in which he bats .400 because Hyde thinks McCann can hit lefties. So the stat you are seeing is pretty much the remaining batting average vs right plus a little extra sprinkled in. If he caught more often vs lefties I bet his batting average while catching would go up significantly

Adley is .230 while catching , but he’s .383 while DHing this year
