    Catchers train free. That's like drop in hockey -- goalies don't pay.

    I obviously don’t catch it on the palm to make it quieter, but I always thought you were supposed to keep it quieter so the ump doesn’t know exactly when it gets caught. This would lead to a better chance of your frames being called strikes.

      Make it pop for your pitchers. Helps the ego more than anything!

      I think getting more strikes for the pitcher helps their ego more

      The loudness of the pop has no effect on whether or not a ball is called a strike.

      Rolling pickups are great for the catcher to feel the load and offensive move under and up beneath the ball.

    Does it hurt when you block it😊

      @rohanswarts6866 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Catching pads are very good so generally it shouldn't hurt when you block it unless it makes contact with your arm or your free hand but catchers are trained to take allot of force from the balls so I would say that it doesn't hurt

      nope its new school to catch the ball with ur glove moving up, gets u alot more strike calls on the bottom of the zone.

      @treadathletics I don't doubt it works, but only time will tell if the reason most of the framing stat leaders are using it is because it's what's popular right now or if it's the reason they are the framing leaders. Some of the best framers in the league still use different methods. You also have to consider that there is a trade off of not giving a consistent target through pitch release.

  • @GarciaDK
    @GarciaDK 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Framing should be illegal in baseball just like any of the shady shit pitchers and hitters do....
